FantasyPros
Moore finished his rookie campaign strong, with a big uptick in targets and catches over the second half of the season. With Devin Funchess now in Indianapolis, Moore moves to the top target in Carolina, although Curtis Samuel makes a 1B to Moore's 1A. He's incredibly fast and talented, and the only real concern is Cam Newton's health, as he's already battling a foot sprain. But, if Newton is good to go, Moore should be a strong WR2.The casual fantasy owner probably thinks that Boyd's breakout in 2018 was because of A.J. Green's injury. But Boyd was nearly as productive with Green on the field. Either way, Green is already battling an injury that will force him to miss multiple games, so Boyd should see plenty of targets. There's little else in the Bengals' receiving group, so particularly early in the season, Boyd should be highly productive.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Andy Dalton's True Throw Value last season before getting hurt was .481. That puts him above league average and sandwiches him between Kirk Cousins and Aaron Rodgers. If we look at QBs in a similar TTV tier, we see Cousins - who supported Theilen and Diggs, Rodgers - Who supported Adams and Allison/MVS, then Newton and Brady, two guys who don't necessarily support two startable WRs at this stage in their career. It's going to come down to target share for Tyler Boyd (Which will obviously be effected by AJ Green's health).
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Tyler Boyd was a stud last year and I don't really understand his ADP. In 14 games last season he totaled 1028 yards and 7 TDs on 108 targets. He became a consistent weekly WR2 and he was also utilized in the red zone. I called Robert Woods last season as a must have WR at ADP. Boyd is my 2019 Woods.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Moore is the de facto number one receiver in Carolina and has upside to blossom into a high-end WR2 if everything goes right this year. Much of it will depend on whether or not Cam Newton's shoulder truly is healthy.Boyd just signed a four-year extension with the Bengals which means Zac Taylor must have big plans for him. A.J. Green is still the number one and will be back within a handful of weeks and Andy Dalton can only create so many fantasy points, but Boyd is a strong bet to finish as a WR3.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Moore became a full-time player for the Panthers in Week 8, so we've already seen a glimpse of what he can offer. But how high is his consistency and what players was he comparable to once he did take over that starting job? His teammate Curtis Samuel saw nearly the same target share in those weeks and actually offered more constant production. Moore is the superior player, but he'll also see more top-tier cornerbacks than Samuel will. With Cam Newton's hit-or-miss accuracy, Moore will definitely have some duds thrown in, which is why he's best-suited as a WR3 on your fantasy teamIt's like everyone forgot how good A.J. Green is/was and now he's dropping down draft boards while Boyd is skyrocketing up them. It's not to say Boyd will return to the waiver wire fodder he was his first two seasons in the league where he scored 15 PPR points just twice in 26 games, but he's not going to return to the player who saw seven or more targets in 9-of-14 games with Green back in the lineup. Do we really believe Andy Dalton can support two consistent top-24 receivers? That's what you're banking on with Boyd, because we know Green will be there if healthy. The only time Dalton has produced two top-30 receivers was in 2014, when Green missed three games, allowing Mohamed Sanu to finish as the WR29. It's not to say it's not possible Boyd takes a leap in the new offense, but he's being drafted at/near his ceiling without a Green injury
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Moore played in both of the games that Funchess missed last season. His stat lines were 8/91/0 and 4/81/0. Now, that's an extremely small sample size, but we need to consider were the targets are going in that offense. The majority of the targets will be disbursed between CMC/Moore/Samuel/Olsen. Aside from that it's just going to be small amounts of volume here and there. Moore has the 14th highest projection among WR's according to my model. I have him projected for 74/1181/4.8. He's also an extremely safe pick. He has the 5th lowest chance to miss time due to injury according to sports injury predictor, and there's a 0% chance he gets passed on the depth chart. If anything, Newton is going to be better than he was last season. Every single bit of data points towards Moore having a breakout season this year. Moore was a first round pick last season, and he boasts an 88th percentile height adjusted speed score, a 94th percentile burst score, an 89th percentile catch radius, a 92nd percentile SPARQ-x score, a 97th percentile college dominator rating, and a 98th percentile college breakout age. He also just turned 22 and is already the Panthers #1 WR. Moore was also 1st in the league in yac/rec among WR's with at least 30 receptions, and Newton had the highest adjusted yards per completion of his career when targeting Moore last season. We also need to look at how he closed last season. He saw 8+ targets in 5 of his last 7 weeks. I'll be drafting as much Moore as I can this season, and I suggest you do the same.I will not be drafting Tyler Boyd this season. His ADP is a bit too high for the third option in an Andy Dalton offense. A.J. Green is back, Mixon will get his touches...and I expect John Ross to at least take a small step forward this season. If you like Boyd then you better be drafting Andy Dalton, because the only way Boyd pays off his ADP is if Dalton goes off.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Moore probably could have had a better year if the team had involved him earlier and QB Cam Newton did not have a bum shoulder. He is a WR3, but he has a ton of upside in this offense. He will be the lead target with WR Devin Funchess now in Indianapolis.Boyd had a breakout year with 1,026 yards receiving and 7 receiving touchdowns. He should be a WR3 with upside in a new offense this year.
