Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Remember when Engram finished his rookie season as the No. 5 tight end? Well, he did that because the volume was there. He saw 115 targets that season because of the injuries to Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall. Those guys are both gone, and while Sterling Shepard and Golden Tate remain, those guys aren't going to see the target share of Beckham. Not only did Engram's target-share dip last year, but he also dealt with some injuries, leading him to finish outside the top-10 in his sophomore season. The expectation should be that he'll see 100-plus targets in 2019, which is something only 4-5 tight ends can sayDid you know Jeffery finished as the WR20 in his first season with the Eagles and then finished as the WR26 in 2018 despite missing three full games? He's not an exciting pick, but he's proven production when in the lineup. It surely won't hurt that Carson Wentz should be back and healthy, as he posted better numbers with him than with Nick Foles
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Engram is a great athlete with red-zone chops. If Eli Manning wasn't under center I might have him 4th.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Engram played only 11 games last season, but had solid if unspectacular production when he was on the field. Engram's numbers have been substantially better whenever a Giants' wide receiver misses time, and considering that Odell Beckham Jr. is gone, Golden Tate is suspended, and Sterling Shepard is dealing with a thumb injury, Engram offers plenty of value, particularly early in the season. His upside may be capped by Eli Manning (unless or until he is replaced by Daniel Jones), but he still makes one of the best options after the top tier of tight ends is off the board. When healthy, Jeffrey has been a pretty reliable fantasy wide receiver with the Eagles, and he likely will be again this season. The addition of DeSean Jackson will likely eat a bit into Jeffrey's targets, but defenses will also need to focus more on taking away the deep ball, which should open up room for Jeffrey. His size makes him a target in the red zone always, and nothing should change about that. He lacks much upside, but he's got a fairly high floor as a strong WR3.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Seemingly has a bunch of upside because he should see easily 100 targets, but Eli is throwing him the ball, which also limits his upside. Solid choice if you miss out on the big three TEs but you have to spend a high pick on him and he also has injury history.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Engram saw 125 targets and put up a 64/722/6 line in his ROOKIE season. Remarkable when considering how much rookie TEs struggle. Of course it helps that he saw 125 targets, but if he can put up those numbers as a rookie, he can certainly improve in his third season on a team devoid of weapons. Last season when OBJ was out, Engram averaged 5.5/80/0.33.It's literally been four years in a row where Jeffrey has ended with between 52-65 receptions and between 789 and 843 yards. His TD's in those years were 4, 2, 9, and 6. He'll have a line around 60/800/6. A solid, if not unspectacular, WR3.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Engram was injured for part of the season, but when he was healthy, he was solid once again, ranking 7th among all tight ends with 9.4 half-PPR points per game. The draw in Engram, of course, is the fact that Odell Beckham left in free agency, and while he has always been great, Golden Tate fills in and is also a target hog. When Engram had so many targets two years ago, Roger Lewis, was the #2 wideout so it is a much different scenario now than it was then.Besides the stark gap in ADP, there isn't much of a difference between Alshon and Julian Edelman. Both have missed chunks of time in most season but have performed when on the field. In Alshon's case, it has resulted in three seasons than Edelman has ever produced. There is, of course, injury risk, but he is the epitome of a value pick when you can wait to rounds to add him instead of Edelman.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
With Odell being traded to the Browns, Engram once again finds himself as the top option in the passing game. He'll still need to compete with Shepard, Tate, Saquon...and...maybe...Corey Coleman for targets, but he's going to get all he can handle. He's also going to be used heavily in the red zone. Engram has averaged just under one red zone target per game in his two year career, but that should go up in 2019. Not only his it his third season (the general breakout season for TE's), but aside from Saquon, he's the only real red zone threat they have. Tate has never been a red zone guy, and while Shepard was given a lot of targets inside the 5 last season, we shouldn't expect him to see many while Engram is healthy. Ingram is one of the few receivers with 80/1000/10 upside. In his first two seasons with the Eagles, Alshon has produced a 16 game season average of 67/900/8.3. That sort of stat line would result in a low end WR 2 for fantasy. We also need to look at the fact that, at least for now, Carson Wentz is healthy. With Wentz as his QB, Alshon has produced 2.5 more targets and 0.25 more TD's per game (as an Eagle of course). My current projection for Alshon is 77/1000/7.4. That's my 18th highest projection among WR's, and means that he's being extremely undervalued as the 30th WR off the board.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Engram really struggled early in the year when QB Eli Manning was not playing well. If they can find an effective quarterback in the NFL Draft, Engram has huge bounce-back potential.Jeffery missed 3 games last year and he was up and down all season, finishing with 65 receptions for 843 yards and 6 touchdowns. He is a good WR2 player with WR1 upside.
