FantasyPros
Moore became a full-time player for the Panthers in Week 8 so we've already seen a glimpse of what he can offer. But how high is his consistency and what players was he comparable to once he did take over that starting job? His teammate Curtis Samuel saw nearly the same target share in those weeks and actually offered more constant production. Moore is the superior player, but he'll also see more top-tier cornerbacks than Samuel will. With Cam Newton's hit-or-miss accuracy, Moore will definitely have some duds thrown in, which is why he's best-suited as a WR3 on your fantasy teamRemember when Engram finished his rookie season as the No. 5 tight end? Well, he did that because the volume was there. He saw 115 targets that season because of the injuries to Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall. Those guys are both gone, and while Sterling Shepard and Golden Tate remain, those guys aren't going to see the target share of Beckham. Not only did Engram's target-share dip last year, but he also dealt with some injuries, leading him to finish outside the top-10 in his sophomore season. The expectation should be that he'll see 100-plus targets in 2019, which is something only 4-5 tight ends can say
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Engram is a great athlete with red-zone chops. If Eli Manning wasn't under center I might have him 4th.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Moore finished his rookie campaign strong, with a big uptick in targets and catches over the second half of the season. With Devin Funchess now in Indianapolis, Moore moves to the top target in Carolina, although Curtis Samuel makes a 1B to Moore's 1A. He's incredibly fast and talented, and the only real concern is Cam Newton's health, as he's already battling a foot sprain. But, if Newton is good to go, Moore should be a strong WR2.Engram played only 11 games last season, but had solid if unspectacular production when he was on the field. Engram's numbers have been substantially better whenever a Giants' wide receiver misses time, and considering that Odell Beckham Jr. is gone, Golden Tate is suspended, and Sterling Shepard is dealing with a thumb injury, Engram offers plenty of value, particularly early in the season. His upside may be capped by Eli Manning (unless or until he is replaced by Daniel Jones), but he still makes one of the best options after the top tier of tight ends is off the board.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Seemingly has a bunch of upside because he should see easily 100 targets, but Eli is throwing him the ball, which also limits his upside. Solid choice if you miss out on the big three TEs but you have to spend a high pick on him and he also has injury history.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Engram saw 125 targets and put up a 64/722/6 line in his ROOKIE season. Remarkable when considering how much rookie TEs struggle. Of course it helps that he saw 125 targets, but if he can put up those numbers as a rookie, he can certainly improve in his third season on a team devoid of weapons. Last season when OBJ was out, Engram averaged 5.5/80/0.33.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Moore is the de facto number one receiver in Carolina and has upside to blossom into a high-end WR2 if everything goes right this year. Much of it will depend on whether or not Cam Newton's shoulder truly is healthy.Engram was injured for part of the season, but when he was healthy, he was solid once again, ranking 7th among all tight ends with 9.4 half-PPR points per game. The draw in Engram, of course, is the fact that Odell Beckham left in free agency, and while he has always been great, Golden Tate fills in and is also a target hog. When Engram had so many targets two years ago, Roger Lewis, was the #2 wideout so it is a much different scenario now than it was then.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Moore played in both of the games that Funchess missed last season. His stat lines were 8/91/0 and 4/81/0. Now, that's an extremely small sample size, but we need to consider were the targets are going in that offense. The majority of the targets will be disbursed between CMC/Moore/Samuel/Olsen. Aside from that it's just going to be small amounts of volume here and there. Moore has the 14th highest projection among WR's according to my model. I have him projected for 74/1181/4.8. He's also an extremely safe pick. He has the 5th lowest chance to miss time due to injury according to sports injury predictor, and there's a 0% chance he gets passed on the depth chart. If anything, Newton is going to be better than he was last season. Every single bit of data points towards Moore having a breakout season this year. Moore was a first round pick last season, and he boasts an 88th percentile height adjusted speed score, a 94th percentile burst score, an 89th percentile catch radius, a 92nd percentile SPARQ-x score, a 97th percentile college dominator rating, and a 98th percentile college breakout age. He also just turned 22 and is already the Panthers #1 WR. Moore was also 1st in the league in yac/rec among WR's with at least 30 receptions, and Newton had the highest adjusted yards per completion of his career when targeting Moore last season. We also need to look at how he closed last season. He saw 8+ targets in 5 of his last 7 weeks. I'll be drafting as much Moore as I can this season, and I suggest you do the same. With Odell being traded to the Browns, Engram once again finds himself as the top option in the passing game. He'll still need to compete with Shepard, Tate, Saquon...and...maybe...Corey Coleman for targets, but he's going to get all he can handle. He's also going to be used heavily in the red zone. Engram has averaged just under one red zone target per game in his two year career, but that should go up in 2019. Not only his it his third season (the general breakout season for TE's), but aside from Saquon, he's the only real red zone threat they have. Tate has never been a red zone guy, and while Shepard was given a lot of targets inside the 5 last season, we shouldn't expect him to see many while Engram is healthy. Ingram is one of the few receivers with 80/1000/10 upside.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Moore probably could have had a better year if the team had involved him earlier and QB Cam Newton did not have a bum shoulder. He is a WR3, but he has a ton of upside in this offense. He will be the lead target with WR Devin Funchess now in Indianapolis.Engram really struggled early in the year when QB Eli Manning was not playing well. If they can find an effective quarterback in the NFL Draft, Engram has huge bounce-back potential.
