Tate entered 2018 coming off four straight seasons with 90 or more catches despite having scored only 19 TDs during that span. He has reached the end zone 10 times for three NFC teams over 26 games the past couple of seasons, but it's hard to envision him carving out significant fantasy value in 2020 with Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram, Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard in the mix.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Golden Tate had his season majorly affected by injury since 2010 but still proved very effective while on the gridiron. He regularly managed double-digit half-PPR points and when you're drafting a guy in the 12th round, that's outstanding output. He's a real sleeper going into this season and could prove very valuable if the Giants offense has enough passing volume.Kenny Stills has some weekly upside but he'll ultimately remain behind Will Fuller, Brandin Cooks and Randall Cobb until the inevitable injury. With DeAndre Hopkins out of town, there's nobody to really lead the team's receivers and that gives Stills an opportunity to make a solid impact when one of the league's two most injury-prone receivers inevitably goes down. That gives Stills intriguing late round value.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
I remember when Tate was just a young guy in the league trying to find a role in the Seahawks offense. Here we are, now entering his 11th season at 32 years old. As you can see from the Shepard paragraph, Tate was semi-consistent with his targets, but you also have to factor in where he played on the field. Both Saquon Barkley and Evan Engram missed time throughout the year, which should've led to more targets for Tate. He had them most of the time, but even more importantly, he produced when he played. He produced WR3 or better numbers in 81.8 percent of his games last year. You know who did that more often than him? Michael Thomas. That's it. It is a new offense and Barkley/Engram are healthy, so don't expect that anymore, but understand that there's likely a place for him in fantasy football, especially when you consider the state of the Giants defense that'll be among the league's worst. He's not sexy and won't finish as a top-24 receiver, but he can be a WR4 type that you plug in when you know the Giants will be throwing a ton.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
Drafting Golden Tate is never very exciting or sexy but when you're in a pinch over your flex spot, he's one of the better options you can have. He should be 2nd-year QB, Daniel Jones' safety blanket which is why he is, as usual, considerably more valuable in PPR formats over standard. The Texans may have the deepest WR room in the league between Stills, Will Fuller, Brandin Cooks, and Randall Cobb. All of them are talented players but unfortunately, there are only so many targets to go around. I like Stills' weekly upside but he won't be consistent enough to be relied upon on a weekly basis.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Tate still has plenty left in the tank, but this offense may be too crowded for him to be a consistently weekly fantasy option. With Sterling Shepard, Tate, Darius Slayton, Evan Engram, and Saquon Barkley all vying for targets, it's unlikely that one player significantly outproduces the rest. This season, Tate's nothing more than a WR4 unless things open up in this passing game. This Texans receiving corps is extremely confusing to try and project without practice reports, etc. While there are plenty of new faces in town, Stills knows this offense and that could lead to a "leg up" in a truncated offseason. Either way, Stills is likely going to see significant snaps at some point this season with the injury histories of the players ahead of him on the depth chart. In a deep league, he's worth holding at the bottom of your bench.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Tate missed four games last year after his suspension but he had a very solid year when he was on the field. He finished the season ranked 31st among wide receiver in fantasy points per game (half-PPR formats) and continued to excel in producing yards after the catch. Tate will be 32 years old when the season starts and will continue to compete for targets with Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, Evan Engram, and Saquon Barkley. But in full PPR formats at least, he should be a viable flex option most weeks. In standard or half-PPR leagues, however, draft him only as a bench player.Stills wasn't heavily involved last year after a preseason trade to the Texans, and he missed three games do to injuries. But he did rank seventh in the league in yards per target and had the fourth highest catch rate (72.7%) among wide receivers. Although DeAndre Hopkins is gone, the Texans added Brandin Cooks and Randall Cobb, so it's unlikely that Stills will suddenly have an important role on the team. Given that he's never had more than 63 catches or 931 yards receiving, it's unlikely that he'll be worth rostering this season.
