FantasyPros
The nice thing about Henry playing in the playoffs is that we know he is healthy and he will be available for all OTA activities. Henry should bounce back as a TE1 coming off the ACL injury in May last year.Johnson becomes the lead back in Houston with RB Lamar Miller lost for the season. He should have RB3 value with upside, even with the addition of RB Carlos Hyde. Hyde should simply be a veteran presence to give Johnson a breather and offer a change of pace.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Prior to tearing his ACL, Henry's career arc was moving in the right direction. His per-target production is through the roof as he's seen 115 targets in his career that have amounted to 81 receptions for 1,057 yards and 12 touchdowns. By comparison, Zach Ertz saw 156 targets in 2018 and finished with 1,163 yards and 8 touchdownsIn case you missed it, Johnson was traded to the Texans. You also may have missed the fact that Lamar Miller tore his ACL during their third preseason game. Unless the Texans trade for a running back, Johnson is walking into a 15-plus touch role on one of the league's best offenses. He could post RB2 numbers if they don't add anyone of significance. *UPDATE* The Texans traded for Carlos Hyde, which bodes well for Johnson considering Hyde has been among the least efficient running backs over the last two years.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
It is tough to know just how strong Henry will be in his return from the injury but seeing that he was prepared to play in the playoffs, it seems likely that he will be nearly back to 100%. Prior to his injury, Henry was every bit as efficient as Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce at the top of the league. Now that he is actually the starter and should see a major bump in targets, he may just leap into that top tight end tier. With Lamar Miller out for the season, Duke is the favorite to lead this team in touches. They brought in Carlos Hyde via trade and while you may think he is a lock to be the early-down back, Duke can handle a three-down workload as we saw in college when he touched the ball 22 times per game. He comes with both risk and upside, making him a worthwhile mid-round pick.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Moves up a few spots if HOU doesn't add a legit RB challenger via trade or a cut-casualty - moves down a few spots if they do
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Philip Rivers knows how to utilize tight ends and Henry will be making up for lost time. He's a top-5 threat.I'm not sure yet what to do with Duke. All I know is he needs to be drafted/owned with all of Houston's running backs dead.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
I already had Duke in my top 25 after being traded to Houston, with the Lamar Miller injury he has the potential to be a top 10 RB, but I can't draft him before the 6th round. I expect he can carry the workload and last 16 games that is why I have him ranked above the rest of the RB's in tier 3, but he has no chance of entering tier two before the season starts.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Henry was a popular breakout candidate last year until he tore his ACL and missed the entire regular season. He's been an excellent fantasy option throughout his career, and that's been almost entirely with Antonio Gates on the field. With Gates now out of the way, Henry should see a bevy of targets from Philip Rivers, who has targeted his tight ends early and often. That immediately vaults him into the top 10 of tight ends, and you shouldn't hesitate to take him in the top five if necessary.Johnson's value has changed drastically this preseason, first with the move to the Texans and now with Lamar Miller's (likely) torn ACL. Houston will surely add running back depth at this point, but Johnson is big enough to handle an every-down workload. Particularly in PPR or 0.5 PPR formats, he should be drafted as a rock solid RB2.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Really liked Hunter Henry at his ADP last season, but then he missed the entire season with a torn ACL and now he is being drafted at the same spot. It does scare me a bit. He was really coming into his own at the end of 2017 with over 50 receiving yards in 3 of his final 4 games and 2 TDs in that span with 16 receptions in those games. There are a lot of mouths to feed in San Diego though and the running backs basically combined to be a WR1 receiving last season.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Hunter Henry will return from a torn ACL he suffered last summer. Unlike players who suffered that injury during the season, Henry will be 100% to start the year. Henry put together two decent seasons before the injury, serving as both a receiving option and a red zone threat, even while Gates was still with the team. With Gates now long gone, Henry should be the teams top red zone option. This is also an offense that loves to throw the football. In 2017 they ranked 6th and 3rd in passing TD's and yards respectively. Last season those numbers were 8th and 11th. The Chargers have seemingly drawn the short straw on injuries in each of the past three seasons. In 2016 Keenan Allen tore his ACL, in 2017 Mike Williams injured his back and was limited to just one start, then Henry tore his ACL last season. At least for now, The Chargers offense is fully healthy. The core of Gordon/Allen/Henry/Williams is one of the best in the league, so they should be amongst the league leaders in TD's scored. While that's a positive for Henry (top red zone option on a top scoring offense), the plethora of options does mean that there will be some down weeks for all of these players. There are so many mouths to feed that sometimes they are going to under perform. At the end of the day, Henry is a top TE option, and someone I'd target in the middle rounds.Duke Johnson has been traded from the Browns to the Texans...which is great for his fantasy outlook. The Browns never used him enough, and given what the Texans gave up to get him, I expect them to give him a decent role in the offense. The Texans line is bad, but Duke doesn't get his value on the ground. He'll be the team's new third down back, and they should find themselves trailing more than they did last season.
