Breaking Football
Henry is a terrific real-life tight end, and he finished 9th last year. But L.A. is going through a QB change (and possibly two) this year. Henry will be tough to trust.Higbee was a sensation down the stretch last year, and finished as the TE8 in a year where he wasn't even the starter to begin the year. Now a focal point of the Rams' offense, he's a top-10 threat again.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Limited by injuries to 41 of a possible 64 regular season games over his four NFL seasons, Henry has been one of the league's more productive tight ends when he's been healthy. He struggled to the tune of 3.7 catches for 37.7 yards per game as the Chargers limped to a disappointing 1-6 finish in 2019, but the hope is that he'll rebound with a new quarterback under center in 2020.After failing to surpass five receptions or reach 50 receiving yards in any of the 10 games he played prior to the end of November last season, Higbee exploded for 43 receptions over a five-game stretch last December that began with four straight 100-yard games from Week 13 to 16. Expect him to start 2020 with a prominent role in the Rams' passing game.
Kevin Tompkins
Fighting Chance Fantasy
Gets a quarterback in Tyrod Taylor that made Charles Clay consistently a thing from 2015-2017. Even after the Engrams and Wallers of the world have been picked, Henry is still a hard bargain for me at the 7th-8th range but he's a player who tends to slip down the board and can be taken as a value once the high-upside TE start to come off. Passing game situation is a bit of a question, but if he can stay healthy, he should produce as a low-end TE1.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Fifth year tight end Hunter Henry finished last season as the TE9 (TE10 in PPG) and that feels a little disappointing until you realize that's the first time he's ever finished in the top 13! Henry has never passed 700 yards in a season, has never passed 100 yards in a game and has never passed 10 targets in a game. Tyler Higbee did those last two things in four consecutive games! There is reason to hope though, as Tyrod Taylor is a guy who made Charles Clay a fantasy relevant TE by peppering him with more targets than Robert Woods or Sammy Watkins. I wouldn't touch Henry anywhere near his 6th round price tag but he is interesting if he starts to fall in drafts.Tyler Higbee is the definition of an upside pick. The Rams have clearly decided to move towards using their tight ends as receivers and all the signs (Cooks leaving, massive TE contracts) point to a lot of 12 plays in 2020. There have been question marks over whether Higbee is the guy or whether the Rams might use a lot more of Everett. That's a fair concern but I think their actions show they believe in Higbee. They've given him an enormous contract while Everett hasn't been re-signed and the Rams also drafted Brycen Hopkins as a possible TE2 replacement. I'm going to follow the money and gamble on Higbee continuing his target-heavy role alongside Woods and Kupp now that the Rams lack a true receiving back. Higbee is super value in the 7th round.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
There are a lot of questions surrounding the Chargers offense as we head into 2020, and the quarterback position is atop the list. No matter who is under center, they're not going to be throwing the ball a lot. Tyrod Taylor has never attempted more than 436 attempts in a season, and Justin Herbert is a rookie who'll go through growing pains. We already saw Henry being somewhat scaled back in this offense last year, as he failed to top 45 yards in each of the last five games. For a guy who's never topped 652 yards in a season and getting a downgrade at quarterback, he has a high draft price, and is likely not going to live up to expectations. While it's easy to fall in love with the way Higbee ended the season, we mustn't forget that it's a very small sample size. He finished with 522 yards and two touchdowns over the final five games while seeing a massive 56 targets. He and Gerald Everett COMBINED for 85 targets the entire 2018 season. Injuries certainly helped Higbee get more targets as the year went on, but are we certain it'll continue in 2020? If you don't have to spend a pick in the top five or six rounds to get him, it's worth finding out.
Frank Bonincontri
Fantasy Wire HQ
Seems like every Chargers player fantasy value has tanked since Rivers left. I am not letting Tyrod Taylor scare me off of Henry though, he will need a safety valve in the offense and Henry is his guyThe offseason Twitter hype (or hate) is real but will Higbee deliver or bust? I expect him to pick up off from where he did last season

My favorite mid round TE target, but cost has approached concerning levels
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
Henry has always been a risky pick due to his injury concerns, but now, it's his potential QB that has me concerned. We all know how much Philip Rivers likes throwing to TE's, the same cannot be said for Tyrod Taylor and Justin Herbert. I still think Henry's talent will keep him in the TE1 range, but I don't see as much upside for him as he's had in years past.Tyler Higbee is going to be a very interesting player to watch at the TE position this year. Over his final five games last season, Higbee averaged over 8 receptions a game and over 104 yards receiving per game. While I don't expect to see anything close to that over a 16 game stretch, there's no doubt that Higbee put himself on the map and could be this year's Mark Andrews.

Henry dealt with an injury yet again last season, but he was productive when he was able to play. Playing 12 games, he had the most targets, receptions, and yardage of his career. The departure of Philip Rivers, however, will likely do no favors for Henry, as the veteran quarterback historically targeted his tight ends heavily. Although Tyrod Taylor targeted Charles Clay often in Buffalo, he's almost certainly going to throw the ball less than Rivers did, meaning Henry is likely to see a dip in targets. He should still be valued as a TE1, but his stock has dimmed a bit with the change in quarterback.Higbee had one of the most unexpected and dominant short-term breakouts in recent memory last season. Over the final five games, he averaged 8.6 receptions and 104 yard per contest after being essentially a fantasy afterthought for his entire career prior. There are questions about heading into the season, including whether the Rams will continue running more of the 12 personnel they ran late in the year and the impact of a healthy Gerald Everett. But, there just aren't many tight ends who are even capable of doing what Higbee did at the end of last year, meaning he needs to be viewed as a mid-tier TE1, albeit with a bit of a skeptical eye.

Higbee had the best receiving stretch of any TE ever over the last 5 weeks of 2019. THE BEST EVER. That does not happen by accident. The Rams started using 12 personnel more at the back end of the season and Higbee was one of two players (Woods) to play nearly every snap. Let others laugh at the Higbee pick while you reap the benefits.

Henry's been great for fantasy when he's been on the field previously, but his health isn't something that you can comfortably rely on. Additionally, this offense isn't going to be as pass-happy as they've been in previous seasons, which limits Henry's overall ceiling. He should still be a fine option for fantasy football, especially at a position that has so many question marks, but I don't believe that he offers you league-winning upside this season.Higbee was a fantastic waiver wire find at the end of last season and he asserted himself into the conversation as one of fantasy football's top tight ends. However, the majority is still skeptical of the limited sample size and that's reflected in his ADP. If you prefer to wait on tight end, Higbee's a great option to add to your roster. This offense should remain heavy in 12 personnel and this should still be a heavy passing volume team. Everything lines up for Higbee to have a great season again in 2020.

With Tyrod at QB, Charles Clay saw 5.8 T/G from 2015-2017 ... Henry saw 6.3 T/G last year.Higbee had what could be the best 5 game stretch any TE has ever had to end 2019, which is why just about everyone has him in their top 10 TE's. He definitely benefited from injured teammates and from facing Arizona in two of those games. I expect the Rams to use more two-TE sets, but let's not expect him to see 11+ targets per game. He also failed to achieve 50 yards in 56 of his first 58 games.

156 targets went to the TE position this year. In McVays first 2 seasons: 2017 - 88, 2018 - 84

FantasyPros
Henry had 652 yards from scrimmage and 5 touchdowns, but he could have issues having success in the passing game if QB Tyrod Taylor remains the starting quarterback.Higbee emerged as the featured tight end in this offense with 734 yards from scrimmage and 3 touchdowns. QB Jared Goff makes Higbee's value volatile, but he should be a fantasy TE1 in 2020.

Franchised - Returns as Top-TE hereWent completely berserk as the top-scoring TE for the final six games of 2019, when Gerald Everett was shelved for all but 2. Higbee topped 11+ targets and 100+ yards 5/6. He'd ascend to the Kelce Kittle tier if that volume remained consistent in 2020, but that's a question w/ Everett fully back and such a limited role until these final 6.
