FantasyPros
Brown was fantastic last season, but he's going to see a bit of regression this year with the addition of Stefon Diggs to the offense. Diggs is going to command targets, which limits Brown's overall ceiling. He's nothing more than a WR3/FLEX option this season that has the potential to win you a week with one or two big plays.Unfortunately, the opportunity doesn't exactly match the talent for Irv Smith...at least for right now. Rudolph is still ahead of him on this depth chart and this isn't an offense that's projected to have a high passing volume. Smith's unlikely to have any fantasy relevance in 2020, unless Rudolph were to miss time. He can remain on your waiver wire for the time being.

2019: Played 53.4% of snaps in the slot, 76.6% Catch Rate, 107.7 QBR, target share: 7.6/ 20.5% Irv Smith Jr. had 47 targets in 2019 as a 21-year-old rookie. The Vikings are likely to pass more next year and lack proven receiving weapons. TEs who were 21-year-old rookies record a TE1 season almost 60% of the time in Year 2. @JackMiller02

FantasyPros
Smith played a fair amount in his rookie season, but he's still second fiddle to Kyle Rudolph. Although the two tight ends essentially split targets last year, Smith was used fairly closer to the line of scrimmage and almost never had a chance to break big plays. He may see a bit more usage now with plenty of vacated targets in the absence of Stefon Diggs, but he's nothing better than a low-end TE2.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Brown was the definition of consistency last year, finishing with at least 10.4 PPR points in 13-of-15 games. The issue was that he lacked upside, topping 20 PPR points just twice all year. Now adding Stefon Diggs to the offense, his target share is going to dip and make him much more inconsistent, as they're both perimeter players who'll compete for targets. After seeing 115 targets in 2019, it's possible that number dips into the 80-90 range in 2020. This receiving corps will be better for real life football in 2020, but fantasy-wise, there's likely to be a lot of bumpy roads.I'm not certain how many people know Smith saw just one fewer target than his teammate Kyle Rudolph in 2019, but that was the case. The difference was their touchdowns, as Rudolph scored six times compared to Smith's two touchdowns. Will that change in 2020? Well, it wasn't due to lack of opportunity, as Smith saw 10 targets in the red zone compared to Rudolph's 11 targets. Touchdowns are a very fickle thing and they can flip-flop this year. Smith is the one ascending up, while Rudolph is moving towards the end of his tenure.

Crossroads Fantasy Football
Can be a perfectly fine fill in as your NFL team's WR1 but it isn't the roll he's best suited for. Even filling that roll this year he wasn't a clear target hog. Will most likely get pushed to second fiddle when the draft comes along but I think that effects his perceived fantasy value more than his actual worth. Can still get around 100 targets and be flexy. Is anyone going to look and see that Kyle Rudolph only out targeted Irv by 1 target despite playing 181 more snaps? Rudolph's playing time also slowly decreased over the course of the season.
