FantasyPros
It seems like years since Howard has been a force to reckon with in fantasy football, but prior to the 2019 season that was ended with injuries, he'd posted 935 or more rushing yards in each of the previous three seasons. The issue with projecting that moving forward is due to his offensive line play. The Dolphins have what may be the worst line in football, while Howard has only run behind top-10 offensive lines while in Chicago and Philadelphia. Still, if you need a running back who's likely locked into 12-plus touches a week, Howard can fill a role on your fantasy team. He's one of the trickiest evaluations in fantasy football this year, as losing Tom Brady is going to affect him in a big way. The question becomes: Just how much upside will he lose? White was never someone you relied on for RB1 or RB2 production, but he would give you spikes in production from your flex spot that could help you win a week. He's seen a massive 290 targets over the last three years, and it's extremely unlikely the Patriots have Jarrett Stidham drop back anywhere close to the number of times Brady did. Not just that, but Brady always targeted his running backs in the passing game. There are just too many questions to rely on him for anything for more than low-end RB3/high-end RB4 production.
Elliot Berkovits
Pack to the Future
After one season with the Eagles, Howard now finds himself in Miami in what could be a resurgent offense under Tua Tagovailoa. He will split carries with Matt Breida but I expect Howard to get the majority of the goal-line work. He's a much better option in non-PPR.Brady's departure will undoubtedly affect White's consistency but with Cam Newton as the presumed starter, White may be the best Patriot worth rostering this season. We've seen Christian McCaffrey have tremendous success with Newton as his QB and while I don't think White has near that upside, he is solid flex in option in PPR formats.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Howard is perpetually undervalued in fantasy football, in part because of his lack of success as a receiver. But over his four-year career, he's totaled 3,895 yards rushing, 30 touchdowns, and a 4.3 YPC average. Those numbers are more than adequate for fantasy purposes, especially considering Howard should get the bulk of the work for the Dolphins. While Matt Breida should siphon off some carries, Howard will likely be the primary ball carrier and the goal-line option, making him a Flex option in standard leagues.White derives almost all of his value from his prowess as a receiver, as he's topped 67 carries just once in his career. While his work in the passing game (218 targets, 159 receptions over the past two years) has kept him as a solid, if perhaps inconsistent, fantasy option, it's unclear if that will continue this season. He will undoubtedly remain the Patriots' passing-down back, but it's unlikely that he'll see quite the same production with Cam Newton, even with how much work Christian McCaffrey saw in the receiving game. He'll remain an option in PPR leagues and perhaps in deeper half-PPR formats, but that's about all.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
We know Cam can carry a pass-catching RB, as we saw him do it with CMC. However, Cam's health is questionable, his arm is questionable, and we don't know what the offense will look like. He could end up as a PPR flex option, but I'll likely try my luck elsewhere.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Howard should be the lead back in a crowded RBBC in Miami this year, which would give him flex value with upside if they can improve the offensive line.

Expect Howard to be the top choice for the Dolphins' goal line work this season.Since the start of the 2017 season, only Christian McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara have more RB targets than James White. Probably has quite a bit to do with Brady, but really so no reason why this won't continue with Cam or Stidham.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Howard will get the opportunity to be a starting RB again in 2020 in Miami. He's the clear option for goal line carries and this offensive line is drastically improved from 2019. Howard should be a solid RB2 option all season long in this offense.Cam Newton's now at QB for the Patriots and he's shown a propensity for targeting pass-catching RBs. White's not going to suddenly turn into Christian McCaffrey, but he's a solid value right now in redraft ADP.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
I learned my lesson last year! Howard will be more involved than I like! Still likely to receive 150ish carries with a rookie drafted, whether we like it or not. Was pacing for 190 in Philly last year. The good news is he's an absolute dunce when it comes to pass catching and Miami targeted the RB a sneaky amount(99). It was just spread out through Drake, who left, and the Walton and LA(i)RDS of the world 150 attempts at a 4ypc clip with a handful of TDs would put him at 90 fantasy points. Your standard RB40 on the yearWill be interesting to see who's throwing him the ball in 2020 and if Sony/Harris can get involved in the passing game/on the field(cough, cough Harris) at all. Oh great, Stidham. A impossible offense to predict which Bill probably loves. We'll just have to rely far too much on preseason because relying on what Bill normally does would be relying on him never doing what you think. White has never played a year without Brady and we'll now have to rely on Stidham for those targets. I wonder if TE gets more involved this year, with Ben Watson leading the TE group with 24 targets last year. Could potentially impact White, plus probably not being top 5 in pass ATT.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
After being drafted out of Indiana in the 5th round a few years ago, Jordan Howard has regularly surpassed expectations. He was sensational for the Bears in his debut season before dropping away along with the team's attack as a whole. A move to Philly proved he still had it as he held off Miles Sanders with superior play until injury crueled his season. Now in Miami's RB-wasteland and he's got a chance to do it all again. The message is clear, under-estimate Howard at your peril. With around 400 RB touches to go around, I expect Howard to lead the backfield with Breida taking the change-of-pace/receiving role. Take Howard in the late 8th round if you need a safe option but realise the upside is limited this time.James White had a disappointing drop in fantasy production but somehow managed to manage a RB2 finish in half-PPR on the back of 67 rushes, 72 receptions, 908 yards and 6 TDs. He'll remain a PPR staple but lacks the true upside he once had with Jarrett Stidham at the controls. While the Auburn alum never had great RB receiving options, he showed a total disinterest in using them and this will certainly affect the 28-year-old Pat. He remains a valid weekly option but I wouldn't actually draft him at his Top 30 projection. I'd look elsewhere and suggest trying to win your league rather than avoiding losing it.
