Lineups
The Bengals were abysmal last season as they suffered through suspect quarterback play from Andy Dalton and Ryan Finley. Still, Mixon rushed for 4.1 yards per carry and had 35 catches. With Joe Burrow now at quarterback and Zac Taylor's offense featuring plenty of receiving talent, Mixon will have much more room to run and more scoring opportunities in 2020.The fantasy football community seems to be divided on Kenyan Drake, and I'm not sure why. The talent was never the issue in Miami - it was always the situation. In 8 games with the Cardinals last season, Drake was on pace for over 1,500 yards from scrimmage and 16 touchdowns. The touchdowns aren't sustainable, but he'll have a whole offseason to work with Kyler and get more comfortable as a key piece in Kliff Kingsbury's offense. The team invested in Drake for the long haul and I expect him to reward them with a highly productive season.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
The Bengals addressed their poor offensive line play by selecting center Billy Price in the 2018 draft's first round, then tackle Jonah Williams 11th overall in '19. The hope is that Williams, who missed all of '19 with an injury, helps provide Mixon with better blocking.Drake has a multi-purpose skill set and the ability to hit home runs as a one-cut runner. He averaged more than 80 rushing yards per game and 5.2 yards per carry while scoring eight rushing touchdowns over his eight games with Arizona last season.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Mixon now has the contract he coveted in Cincinnati and he's poised to be a workhorse back in a much-improved offense. From Weeks 11-17 last season, Mixon was the RB3 in all of fantasy football. And that was with Ryan Finley throwing the ball and completing 40% of his passes. Mixon's going to receive 18+ carries a game and there should be plenty of scoring opportunities to go around now that Joe Burrow is at QB. If you're drafting now and have concerns about Alvin Kamara and Dalvin Cook's contract situation, I'm fine taking Mixon over them.Drake should put up insane numbers this season in this offense. There are a lot of great options in the top-10 RBs right now, but Drake truly has the potential to explode this season. A top-5 finish is not out of the question.
Wolf of Roto Street
Roto Street Journal
Joe Burrow at QB makes this offense instantly and infinitely more potent. Jonah Williams, last year's top ranked run blocker, will immediately improve the line. Mixon was the RB4 from Week 10 on, when the team fully (finally) committed to him, and now will be in an even rosier situation. *UPDATE* New contract only locks Mixon in furtherWas the RB3 in Fantasy with the Cardinals, and now returns there with no David Johnson lingering. Offense even more explosive with Hopkins added... could rack up 15+ TDs, 1600+ total yards, and 60+ rec.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Mixon's value was up in the air for a week or two before he agreed on a new deal with the Bengals that will keep him in Cincinnati for several more seasons. With that locked in, Mixon is good to go for the 2020 season and it should be a good one. The downside for Mixon is his lack of usage in the passing game, which admittedly limits his upside a tad. But he was a true workhorse back over the latter half of the 2019 season, and will now be playing behind a better offensive line with a better quarterback in an offense that should score plenty of points. He may not have the ceiling of the top three or four backs being drafted, but if he's healthy, RB1 status is nearly a lock. Draft him with confidence.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Don't sleep on a Joe Mixon bounce back in 2020! The Bengals were truly awful last year, but Joe Burrow, AJ Green, Tee Higgins and a slew of other additions indicate a new dawn in Cinci. Mixon remains the clear lead back and should get another 300-350 touches. The improved attack and Joe Burrow's love of passing to RBs means Mixon has seriously high upside in 2020. He's a strong first round pick. The Cardinals offense is incredible for running backs, with David Johnson, Chase Edmonds and Kenyan Drake all having explosive moments in 2019. With DJ gone and Chase the clear backup, it's Drake's job in 2020 so that should mean a clear-cut RB1 right? Well, maybe. Drake played five games with the Cards. He was incredible against mediocre Browns and Seahawks defense he gifted him 6 TDs but struggled in the other games, maxing out at 15 touches in each. With DeAndre Hopkins now in town, this offense seems to be transitioning towards something more pass-heavy, which is normal for a second-year coach and a sophomore QB. I like Drake, but only enough to take him in the mid-late second rounds and maybe a touch earlier in PPR.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It's one thing to project a breakout for a player due to an increase in opportunity. It's another thing to project a breakout due to an increase in offensive production. Mixon got the opportunity last year under Zac Taylor, as he totaled 18-plus touches on 10 different occasions. But he'll need the offense to take a step forward in 2020 if he wants to ascend into stardom, as he's been an RB2 or better in just 57 percent of his games over the last two years. You must pay attention to his contract status as you approach drafts because Mixon has stated he'll hold out without an extension. This is a real thing with running backs, as they're trying to preserve their health while cashing in on a second contract. Stay tuned. It's crazy to see Kenyan Drake not getting the respect he deserved when he performed the way he did under Kliff Kingsbury last year. Since coming over in Week 9, he was the No. 4 running back through the remainder of the fantasy season, and the Cardinals liked him enough to move on from David Johnson and not draft a running back until the seventh round.
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
The fantasy world was ready last year, the casual fan is ready this year. Mixon should truly breakout in Zac Taylor's offense with Joe Burrow behind center.Drake could take the leap into elite territory in 2020. Volume should be there, Kingsbury is smart. Top target in his ADP range.
Frank Bonincontri
Fantasy Wire HQ
Cant wait to see Mixon behind a healthy O-line and likely to become Joe Burrows favorite targetCoach Kliff stated he wants more Drake (RB) in the offense. I want less Drake (Studio Gangster) in my ears...
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Mixon had a horrible start to the season, but finished the year strong and he had 1424 yards from scrimmage and 8 touchdowns on the season. Joe Burrow should make the passing game more dangerous, which should help Mixon see better running lanes, but the offensive line still needs a ton of work.Drake was a star for the Cardinals in 2019. In just 8 games, he had 814 yards from scrimmage and 8 touchdowns. The Cardinals have signed him to a one-year deal and he should be the featured back with RB David Johnson gone. Drake is a RB1 with huge upside.

Workhorse RB in what should be an improved offense and OL. One of 5 RBs to have over 1k yards and 35 recs in each of the past two seasons.Balled out with AZ at the end of last year and finished top 5 during that span. AZ is an offense that benefits the RB. Only question with Drake is will he get the true workhorse role there? Lots of downside at his ADP.

Mixon has 2 of the 3 things that make a fantasy star - volume and talent. What's he been missing is a ripe environment and the hope is rookie QB Burrow can fix thatEnticing if he can finally put a full season of bell-cow work in the books as ARI RBs ranked 3rd in FAN PTS per Touch in 2019, with Drake contributing elite stretch-run numbers

Mixon finished the 2019 season on a strong note averaging nearly 100 yards a game on the ground (98) and scoring six total TDs.With Joe Burrow now under center, the Bengals have a chance to surprise people offensively, and that all begins with the ground game. Look for Mixon to finally have the breakout season we've been waiting for since he entered the league.Whether it was David Johnson, Chase Edmonds, or Kenyan Drake, the Arizona backfield was highly productive during the 2019 season. With Johnson now in Houston, Drake will take full control and is in prime position to finally fulfill his potential we've talked about for years.

Kenyan Drake finished as the #4 RB last season after being shipped over to Arizona. The only thing that has changed in that Arizona offense since then is that they added DEANDRE HOPKINS to clear out the box for Drake and the only RB addition was 7th round RB Eno Benjamin. Let's not forget that Drake is also playing on a prove-it deal for Arizona. All signs are pointing up.

Mixon jumps off the page as an RB who did a lot with nothing last year, but I'm nervous about a potential holdout.Kenyan Drake is 26 years old, but only 456 career carries with a 4.8 YPC average. He was the RB3 weeks 9-16 with 20.3 ppr ppg.

How many more terrible situations does he have to survive before he finally gets a real supporting cast? The team has finished in the bottom half of the league in yards and points the last 3 seasons. Mixon manages to survive as RB34(rookie year where he only started 7 games), 9, and 13.ARZ threw to the RB 103 times last year. Assuming Edmonds gets his 20 or so like 2019, That should provide a safe floor for Drake in 2020. ARZ Kenyan Drake was a different beast: ARZ: 18.9 touches per game, 15.9PPG, 8 TDs MIA: 11.5 touches per game, 7.6PPG, 0 TDs Normally, I might be concerned about the limited sample, but the only person he didn't come in and immediately replace last year was of course not on the roster last year, 7th round pick, Eno Benjamin. His contract is interesting after 2020, in that there isn't one, so enjoy the ride
