After posting the lowest yards-per-catch average of his career in 2018, Diggs set career-high marks of 1,130 yards and 17.9 yards per catch while averaging more than 75 receiving yards per game for the first time in his five NFL seasons. Acquired by the Bills in March in exchange for 2020 first-, fifth- and sixth-round picks and a '21 fourth-round pick, Diggs will be Buffalo's top receiving option.Brown set career-high marks in targets, receptions and yards in his first season with the Bills in 2019. With Buffalo having acquired Stefon Diggs from Minnesota in a March trade, Brown is unlikely to replicate those numbers in 2020 for a team that's built to win with defense and controlling the football. He also catches passes from a quarterback who isn't particularly accurate.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Stefon Diggs had a 2019 that was totally out of character, gaining career-high yards on his lowest target share since his debut season. His efficiency went through the roof while he received under a third of his red zone targets. Now things get even more complicated with his move to the Buffalo Bills. Will he perform like John Brown in 2019 or will they poach each other's points? My greatest concern is his weekly floor in this run-first offence paired with a stingy defense. He'll have some big games and is a strong Best Ball target but I believe his overall ceiling is severely capped at WR2.John Brown had an impressive career resurgence in 2019, exploding to 1000 yards and 6 TDs with 37% of the team's air yards as the Bills RB1. With Stefon Diggs now in town, we can expect some more freedom for Brown but also a lot of very quiet games. He'll be difficult to start with any certainty and is a boom/bust option better suited to Best Ball.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Going from Kirk Cousins to Josh Allen isn't going to be a highlight of Diggs' career, as Cousins has continually been one of the better deep-ball passers, while Allen was among the worst in 2019. Diggs actually led the league in yardage on passes that traveled over 20 yards in the air last year. The Bills are still a run-first team that has a top-tier defense, so it's hard to expect a big jump in pass attempts. They targeted their wide receivers 310 times last year, which was a lot for a team that threw the ball just 513 times. The 60.4 percent target share was the fourth-highest mark in the league. So, again, it's tough to say there will be more to go around. Knowing that John Brown was fantastic last year (115 targets), as was Cole Beasley (104 targets), it's tough to take targets away from them, but we have to start taking them from someone because you don't trade for someone like Diggs and not target him. Still, giving him even 115 targets might be too generous, as it'd completely crush the value of Brown, who already has experience with the quarterback/offense. Realistically, I have Diggs down for 111 targets in my projections. When tied to Allen's inconsistencies, that is a WR3 in fantasy who can get into WR2 territory at year's end, similarly to the way Brown did last year. Diggs is probably a top-eight wide receiver in the league, but you need to targets to move up the boards in fantasy football. I'd be happy landing him as my WR3, but that's about it.The addition of Stefon Diggs likely crushed the appeal that Brown had in fantasy football. The Bills gave up a first, fourth, fifth, and sixth-round pick for Diggs (and a seventh rounder). That's a lot. The fact that there will be no preseason certainly helps Brown, as he has experience and chemistry with Josh Allen, as well as knowing the offense. Here's the crazy part about Brown last year: He hit WR3 or better numbers in 73.3 percent of his games, which ranked 11th in the league. He only hit WR2 or better numbers in 26.7 percent of his games, which ranked 51st in the league. Now start removing targets to get Diggs his, and we suddenly lose some of that WR3 floor that he had. He is a good football player who just won't get enough targets to start on a consistent basis. Now, if Diggs were to miss any time, we could go back to playing him as a low-end WR2/high-end WR3. Until then, Brown is in the WR4 range for me.

Avoid a receiver changing teams, especially one projecting to lose work.

Stefon Diggs is now a member of the Buffalo Bills and in regards to fantasy, I don't love it. Josh Allen may have a strong arm, but it's not all that accurate. Expect to see a handful of huge games from Diggs along with some duds. I'd rather have him as a flex option than a weekly starter.Brown had a solid 2019 season eclipsing 1,000 yards but was unlucky in the TD department finishing with only six. Now, the Bills have added Stefon Diggs to the receiving room which doesn't bode well for Brown. Both Brown and Diggs make their money on the deep ball and there are only so many of those targets to go around. I don't see him being consistent enough to be trusted as a weekly starter but he's still worth a roster spot.

Brown was 22nd in WR targets last season, was 31st in true target value (brotofantasy.com), and finished 20th in FPPG. He over-performed last season and may see less work with Diggs in town. With that said, this risk is currently baked into his ADP.

Diggs didn't exactly land in the best offense for fantasy football purposes. This is a team that's built through the run game and solid defense, which doesn't lead to an insane amount of passing volume. Diggs should be the leader on this team from a targets perspective, but it may not lead to being anything more than a consistent WR2. John Brown and Cole Beasley are still going to remain involved and they'll effectively limit Diggs' overall ceiling.Brown was fantastic last season, but he's going to see a bit of regression this year with the addition of Stefon Diggs to the offense. Diggs is going to command targets, which limits Brown's overall ceiling. He's nothing more than a WR3/FLEX option this season that has the potential to win you a week with one or two big plays.

Is about to EAT number two corners with Diggs drawing away premium defensive attention, even if the volume takes a slight hit

Since 2009, only 26.0% of WRs to average 10+ PPG and then change teams have improved their PPG in the following season. Change the PPG threshold to 12 and that number drops to 20.9%. At 15 it's 0.0%. Last year Stefon Diggs avg 14.1 ppg @JackMiller02

The Vikings were 30th in pass attempts, which is a big reason why Diggs had only 68 receptions, 1,191 yards, and six touchdowns. He moves to another run-oriented offense, where he should be a mid-range WR2.

Had the lowest target count since his rookie year but the play action did wonders for his Yards per catch. 4 more yards per catch than his second best season. Team was 9th in play action attempts in 2019. Are the lack of targets a concern when Thielen only played 10 games though? Diggs sure thinks so. Led the league in yardage(635) from deep passes in 2019. Josh Allen - The most inaccurate starting QB on deep balls in 2019(30.9% accuracy). John Brown finished as WR15 last year..Can be a perfectly fine fill in as your NFL team's WR1 but it isn't the roll he's best suited for. Even filling that roll this year he wasn't a clear target hog. Will most likely get pushed to second fiddle when the draft comes along but I think that effects his perceived fantasy value more than his actual worth. Can still get around 100 targets and be flexy.
