Lineups
There's a lot to love about Jonathan Taylor landing in Indianapolis. Taylor was historically great at Wisconsin, rushing for over 6,000 yards in three seasons and setting several rushing along the way. The Colts have put together one of the best offensive lines in the NFL and Taylor should have plenty of running room in the offense. The presence of Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines limits Taylor's upside, at least initially, but I wouldn't be shocked at all if we're talking about him as a top-five guy this time next year. He's not the guy to take if you're looking for weekly consistency, but he has the most upside out of anyone not being drafted in the first round.Le'Veon Bell's first season in New York did not go according to plan as he rushed for under 800 yards and just 3 touchdowns despite playing 15 games. The offensive line hasn't really gotten markedly better this offseason and I don't expect a massive improvement in the rushing efficiency for Bell. However, he had 66 receptions last season and his heavy pass-catching involvement makes him a safe, low-end RB2.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
The collegiate production can't be ignored, especially when considering that every opposing defense recognized and treated Taylor as the focal point of Wisconsin's offense. He's a big back with the ability to power his way through heavy traffic. For the majority of Bell's time in Pittsburgh, he benefited from the Steelers' offensive line consistently opening huge holes. That wasn't the case last year, as the Jets' atrocious line was unable to block effectively for Bell's blend of patience and twitch.
John Hesterman
Dynasty League Football
Taylor is a special talent behind one of the best offensive lines in football. Frank Reich has been steadfast in his approach to this backfield with Marlon Mack and Taylor splitting the workload. Marinate on this, Mack finished with 247 carries for 1,091 yards last season. Taylor is the better back behind that same line. Once the job is his, it's lights-out on the split and Taylor is in the top-five running back conversation for 2021.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Jonathan Taylor has found himself in an excellent long-term situation but it's far more of a mess in 2020. While this offense had 560 RB touches in 2019, they were very spread and that's likely for this coming season as well. It's highly likely that Marlon Mack will be the initial starter with Taylor funnelling touches as the season progresses. That's not what you want from a player many are drafting inside the first four rounds. While there is a lot of end-of-season upside, the path there isn't at all clear, especially with a better passing offense likely leading to lower rushing volume and Nyheim Hines grabbing a pile of receptions. Taylor profiles as an eventual RB2 with excellent long-term upside.Le'Veon Bell once again proved that situation often trumps talent for running backs, as a mediocre O-line and Adam Gase led to a Derrick Henry level of volume (10 fewer touches) for 100 fewer fantasy points. Bell has massive room for improvement though, as he has no true competition (sorry La'Mical) and huge regression upside. Bell's never been a high TD guy or overly efficient but 4 yards per carry and 8 total TDs isn't an unreasonal expectation and that would mean a top 10 finish. Bump those up a little and he becomes a league winner. He's a great third round gamble you can pair with any of the riskier RBs like Fournette, Drake, Carson, CEH and Sanders.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It's looking like a very good possibility for Taylor to see 250-plus carries in his rookie season. Some may think that's absurd, but Marlon Mack totaled 247 carries in just 14 games last year. Even if we give Mack the 100 carries that Jordan Wilkins and Jonathan Williams combined for last year, it'd leave room for Taylor to hit the 250 mark. He's also running behind the best offensive line in football, so it wouldn't be a shock to see him rush for 1,200 yards in year one with his vision and speed in the open field. Taylor is right in the same territory as someone like Nick Chubb. You're going to see Bell fall down draft boards this year, and further than he should. That's odd for me to say, as Bell was someone I was avoiding like the plague in drafts. The difference? Expectations. Playing him as your first-round pick in your RB1 slot was never something anyone should've expected, especially behind that offensive line and in Gase's offense. While he's still stuck in Gase's offense, the offensive line was upgraded quite a bit this offseason, which should allow Bell more room to work. Even if he repeated his 2019 performance, that's RB2 production. There were just 11 running backs who produced RB2 or better numbers more often than him. Sure, he didn't have a ton of weekly upside, but he was safe. Now coming off the board outside the top three rounds, Bell is a value play.

Barring a terrible landing spot, another rookie I love. Maybe a bit of a shock for now but all these rookies typically move up by draft day, I'm just saving you the sadness of watching your "value" pick creep up boards into August.Put up a RB1-2 point total at the 13th highest rate, despite only 4 total TDs on 311 touches, and a bottom 3 run blocking unit. Only had 9 10 zone attempts, which lines up with a 31st ranked scoring offense. Will it all be that bad again?

Taylor has a chance to be a Derrick Henry style RB1, but unlikely in 2020. Should produce solid RB2 numbers in Indy.Bell mentioned he's in better football shape, let's hope that's true. If Gase feeds him in the passing game he will return RB2 numbers.

On FREAKING Wisconsin! JT lands in the perfect scenario in Indy with an indoor team, solid offensive line and veteran quarterback. The only question is how long before he unseats Marlon Mack? Coach Reich has stated he will ride the hot hand and there is no denying Taylor if he can rise to the occasion.*Adam Gase

Phenomenal RB prospect who landed with a team that ran the ball top 5 in the NFL last year. May start off slow, but will be too good to keep off the field and could be a top 12 RB in the 2nd half of the season. Major upside.Bell had workhorse touches last year, but was inefficient in a bad offense. Year 2 with the Jets should allow for improvement in that category and he should still be a massive focal point in the offense. Not much competition and Bell has proven in the past to be one of the best backs in the league.

1 of 7 RBs of 220+ pounds to run a sub-4.4 40 at the NFL Combine in past 20 years - may take awhile to overtake Mack in touches but I'll bet he gets thereVolume remains elite, but it's going to take a leap of faith that improvements to the NYJ O-line and Bell's conditioning will catapult him back into the RB1 class

While I do see Taylor finishing the season as the RB1 in Indy, it's unlikely he gets too much work right out of the gate with there being no preseason. If you feel comfortable waiting a few weeks for him to acclimate, you could have yourself a solid RB2After a disappointing 2019 season, Bell is in need of a major bounce-back season which could be difficult considering he's playing on the Jets offense. I don't see Bell getting too many opportunities near the goal which means he'll have to rely heavily on his receiving numbers to be worthy of his ADP.

Taylor is a tough back to evaluate heading into the fantasy season. He has tremendous skill and will be playing behind perhaps the best offensive line in football. But Marlon Mack will still factor in, especially given the lack of preseason games, which should negatively impact all rookies. And don't forget Nyheim Hines, who may steal much of the passing-down work from Taylor, especially given the latter's struggles with drops in college. There's tremendous upside, but plenty of downside that shouldn't be ignored entirely.

Taylor ended up in a fantastic situation for a rookie playing behind one of the best offensive lines in the league on a team that loves to run the football. Taylor should start as a low-end RB2 to begin the season and emerge as a high-end RB2 to low-end RB1 to close the season.Bell should benefit from the Jets adding T Mekhi Becton and WR Denzel Mims in the NFL Draft. They also added RB La'Mical Perine in the 4th round and RB Frank Gore in free agency, but neither should not be a huge threat to Bell's touches this season.

Taylor seeing 250 carries in 2020 isn't out of the realm of possibilities. If that happens, behind this offensive line, Taylor could easily finish as a top-15 RB this season.Adam Gase seems intent on taking the ball out of Bell's hands and splitting the work among his other running backs. Frank Gore and Lamical Perine are both going to eat into Bell's touches and it's going to limit his production. Bell is nothing more than a low-end RB2 in this Jets offense, despite being one of the more talented running backs in the NFL.

The Draft Zone
He finished his 3yr college career with over 6000 yards from scrimmage and had more 200 yard games than sub-100yd games. Taylor behind the Colts O-line is just going to be nuts.Last year there were only 3 RBs to have 240+ rushing attempts and 75+ targets. I think we would be expecting some "positive" regression for Bell, especially in the TD department, but it seems that Gase is a subscriber to the "RB's don't matter" philosophy. I expect Gore, Perine or one of the journeymen the Jets have horded to cut into Bell's upside.

Has the talent and receiving chops to overtake a three-down role behind a Top-Five line right from the start. He probably won't, given Mack is still only 24 and fresh off 1,000 yards... but they traded up to ensure they got Taylor, and clearly have future workhorse visions. One of the biggest risers of this offseason. Line was a major Draft and Free Agency focus, and Mims provides some more field stretching help. Could go a long way to a Bell rebound, although Gore has a history under Gase and could carve out an annoying GL role
