Lineups
Doug Pederson has never run his backfield with a clear-cut workhorse, but he's also never had a running back as talented as Miles Sanders. In his rookie season, Sanders finished as a top-15 PPR running back despite sharing work with Jordan Howard. With Howard now in Miami and no veterans coming in to take his place, Sanders is going to take on a massive role in the Philly offense. As the lead back on a clearThere's a lot to love about Jonathan Taylor landing in Indianapolis. Taylor was historically great at Wisconsin, rushing for over 6,000 yards in three seasons and setting several rushing along the way. The Colts have put together one of the best offensive lines in the NFL and Taylor should have plenty of running room in the offense. The presence of Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines limits Taylor's upside, at least initially, but I wouldn't be shocked at all if we're talking about him as a top-five guy this time next year. He's not the guy to take if you're looking for weekly consistency, but he has the most upside out of anyone not being drafted in the first round.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Having improved his passing-game skills as his rookie season progressed, Sanders ended up emerging as the lead back in a relatively crowded Philadelphia backfield. He's the clear-cut lead back with Jordan Howard now in Miami. The collegiate production can't be ignored, especially when considering that every opposing defense recognized and treated Taylor as the focal point of Wisconsin's offense. He's a big back with the ability to power his way through heavy traffic.
John Hesterman
Dynasty League Football
Taylor is a special talent behind one of the best offensive lines in football. Frank Reich has been steadfast in his approach to this backfield with Marlon Mack and Taylor splitting the workload. Marinate on this, Mack finished with 247 carries for 1,091 yards last season. Taylor is the better back behind that same line. Once the job is his, it's lights-out on the split and Taylor is in the top-five running back conversation for 2021.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
The Miles Sanders hype is growing as he continues to slide up drafts, often going in the first round. This does remind me a lot of Dalvin Cook last year and that's not the worst comp. The key difference is that the Vikings are one-man show with Cook only limited by his fitness while the Eagles steadfastly refuse to go with a true workhorse. If that changes, Sanders could be a league winner, but it's also possible the Eagles return to their pass-first roots and Sanders becomes an RB2. I'm all for the risk, but not at a first round price. There's a heap of high-upside RBs in this area but Sanders is my favorite for a second round gamble. Pair him with a safe option like Henry, Mixon, Chubb or Jacobs and you're golden.Jonathan Taylor has found himself in an excellent long-term situation but it's far more of a mess in 2020. While this offense had 560 RB touches in 2019, they were very spread and that's likely for this coming season as well. It's highly likely that Marlon Mack will be the initial starter with Taylor funnelling touches as the season progresses. That's not what you want from a player many are drafting inside the first four rounds. While there is a lot of end-of-season upside, the path there isn't at all clear, especially with a better passing offense likely leading to lower rushing volume and Nyheim Hines grabbing a pile of receptions. Taylor profiles as an eventual RB2 with excellent long-term upside.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
We all know Doug Pederson has loved his timeshares since coming to the Eagles, and after they moved on from Jordan Howard, many expected them to add a running back in the draft. Things can change, as there are a few free agent running backs out there, but for now, Sanders has the looks of a 15-plus touch running back. It's looking like a very good possibility for Taylor to see 250-plus carries in his rookie season. Some may think that's absurd, but Marlon Mack totaled 247 carries in just 14 games last year. Even if we give Mack the 100 carries that Jordan Wilkins and Jonathan Williams combined for last year, it'd leave room for Taylor to hit the 250 mark. He's also running behind the best offensive line in football, so it wouldn't be a shock to see him rush for 1,200 yards in year one with his vision and speed in the open field. Taylor is right in the same territory as someone like Nick Chubb.
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
If Pederson commits, Sanders has a chance to finish as a top five back. His ADP is reasonable, and his ceiling is eliteTaylor has a chance to be a Derrick Henry style RB1, but unlikely in 2020. Should produce solid RB2 numbers in Indy.
Frank Bonincontri
Fantasy Wire HQ
Coach Pederson has handed the reigns to Sanders and I for one believe in this guy. The longer Carson Wentz stays healthy, the better this guy will be.On FREAKING Wisconsin! JT lands in the perfect scenario in Indy with an indoor team, solid offensive line and veteran quarterback. The only question is how long before he unseats Marlon Mack? Coach Reich has stated he will ride the hot hand and there is no denying Taylor if he can rise to the occasion.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
61 players have put up 800 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards since 2000. Miles Sanders ranks 61st in total touches of the group. I don't think people understand how impressive his rookie year was. He has the chance to really blow up this season, I am all in.
Dalton Kates
APEX Fantasy Leagues
Very impressive rookie season in which he was extremely efficient as a receiver. Joins Kamara as the only rookie RB with over 8 YPT on 60 or more targets since 2000. Chance to be an elite RB in fantasy if given workhorse opportunity in Philly.Phenomenal RB prospect who landed with a team that ran the ball top 5 in the NFL last year. May start off slow, but will be too good to keep off the field and could be a top 12 RB in the 2nd half of the season. Major upside.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Was Top 12 fantasy RB from Weeks 11-17 with workload volume (18.6 touches per) that should carry over as lead RB in 20201 of 7 RBs of 220+ pounds to run a sub-4.4 40 at the NFL Combine in past 20 years - may take awhile to overtake Mack in touches but I'll bet he gets there
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
Sanders is everybody's favorite breakout candidate in 2020 and I can understand the appeal but I still believe his current ADP is a little too high. He plays in an offense that is known for their usage of multiple backs and he's only started 11 career games, I need to see more out of Sanders before looking at him as an RB1.While I do see Taylor finishing the season as the RB1 in Indy, it's unlikely he gets too much work right out of the gate with there being no preseason. If you feel comfortable waiting a few weeks for him to acclimate, you could have yourself a solid RB2

Taylor is a tough back to evaluate heading into the fantasy season. He has tremendous skill and will be playing behind perhaps the best offensive line in football. But Marlon Mack will still factor in, especially given the lack of preseason games, which should negatively impact all rookies. And don't forget Nyheim Hines, who may steal much of the passing-down work from Taylor, especially given the latter's struggles with drops in college. There's tremendous upside, but plenty of downside that shouldn't be ignored entirely.

Sanders emerged as the lead back in Philly with 1,327 yards from scrimmage and 6 touchdowns. Philly usually uses a RBBC, which caps his RB1 upside. If they give him lead back duties and he sees 250-275 touches, he could emerge as a RB1 in 2020.Taylor ended up in a fantastic situation for a rookie playing behind one of the best offensive lines in the league on a team that loves to run the football. Taylor should start as a low-end RB2 to begin the season and emerge as a high-end RB2 to low-end RB1 to close the season.

Eagles RBs, although consistently utilized as a RBBC group in the past, have put up the fourth most fantasy points for RBs over the past five seasons. There are fantasy points there for the taking in this offense and a RB who put up 1300 yards in his rookie season is poised to take control of that backfield. Boston Scott and Co.'s potential role in the offense is not even worth mentioning.

Sanders seems locked in to be the "main guy" in this backfield at this point of the offseason. While I still believe these other RBs will take away some work, Sanders should see over 270 touches in 2020. He's a high-end RB2 with top-10 upside right now.Taylor seeing 250 carries in 2020 isn't out of the realm of possibilities. If that happens, behind this offensive line, Taylor could easily finish as a top-15 RB this season.

Sanders was the RB6 in ppr ppg weeks 9-16 (17.5)He finished his 3yr college career with over 6000 yards from scrimmage and had more 200 yard games than sub-100yd games. Taylor behind the Colts O-line is just going to be nuts.

Being the clear receiving back provides a safe floor(63 targets in 2019). The lack of other pass catching options might've helped his target count but that's a problem for another day. He was able to prove he can be productive with his receptions. He played 52% of the snaps, and this was with Howard missing a bunch of time. Would like to see that playing time increase but on the plus side, was the largest share of playing time since LeSean McCoy in 2014. Would've like to see more decisive cuts behind PFFs best graded run blocking line. Not going to get better with Brooks gone.Barring a terrible landing spot, another rookie I love. Maybe a bit of a shock for now but all these rookies typically move up by draft day, I'm just saving you the sadness of watching your "value" pick creep up boards into August.

Jordan Howard has been removed. No rookie competition added. When Howard was out, Sanders became Pederson's first true horse: 85%, 84%, 87%, 56%, 71%, and 82% of the snaps. This 75% threshold had been crossed only 1 other time in Pederson's 57 previous games. Sanders was the RB3 over this span, and has minimal competition from remaining "The Guy" in 2020. Is Carlos Hyde going to. come in and fuck this all up?Has the talent and receiving chops to overtake a three-down role behind a Top-Five line right from the start. He probably won't, given Mack is still only 24 and fresh off 1,000 yards... but they traded up to ensure they got Taylor, and clearly have future workhorse visions.
