FantasyPros
Jacobs was mighty impressive last season despite playing in a struggling offense and having lost 10 pounds during the season with the flu. He showed he's got some passing game chops but the Raiders might not see him in that role, however, considering they kept Jalen Richard and added Lynn Bowden.Drake plays in a fast-paced offense which will run 17 or 18 games worth of plays this season. That comes in handy from a fantasy football perspective, as his volume is sure to be higher than most others at the position. Not only that, but Drake was spectacular from the time he landed on the Cardinals, finishing the season as the #4 fantasy back over the final eight weeks despite not knowing the playbook when he came over. Add DeAndre Hopkins and an improved offensive line to this offense and Drake could explode into the top tier of fantasy backs.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Three of their first four games are against top-5 run defensesKenyan Drake is 26 years old, but only 456 career carries with a 4.8 YPC average. He was the RB3 weeks 9-16 with 20.3 ppr ppg.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Jacobs had a very good rookie season with 1,316 yards from scrimmage and 7 touchdowns. Jacobs should be a low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 for the Raiders in 2020.Drake was a star for the Cardinals in 2019. In just 8 games, he had 814 yards from scrimmage and 8 touchdowns. The Cardinals have signed him to a one-year deal and he should be the featured back with RB David Johnson gone. Drake is a RB1 with huge upside.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Kenyan Drake finished as the #4 RB last season after being shipped over to Arizona. The only thing that has changed in that Arizona offense since then is that they added DEANDRE HOPKINS to clear out the box for Drake and the only RB addition was 7th round RB Eno Benjamin. Let's not forget that Drake is also playing on a prove-it deal for Arizona. All signs are pointing up.
Bart Wheeler
Hail to Fantasy Football
A risky first round pick, but a guy essentially in a contract year who could be a 3-down back in what I think will be one of the best offenses in the league this season.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Jacobs is a fantastic selection in Standard formats due to the fact that he's likely going to see 270 carries in 2020. Unfortunately, he does lose a little bit of value in PPR formats with the lack of targets going his direction, but he's still likely to finish in the top-12 due to the sheer volume of carries.Drake should put up insane numbers this season in this offense. There are a lot of great options in the top-10 RBs right now, but Drake truly has the potential to explode this season. A top-5 finish is not out of the question.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
No. 13 RB in FAN PPG as rookie, and expected bump in passing down work should vault him inside the Top 10 RBs in 2020 - led all RBs in Avoided Tackles rushingARI RBs ranked 3rd in FAN PTS per Touch in 2019, and only D. Henry, CMC were better at RB in FAN PPG from Weeks 9-17 after Drake seized control of backfield
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
The Josh Jacobs hype is totally out of control. Currently the half-PPR RB7, he's going stupidly high in early 2020 drafts. We're talking about a guy who caught 20 balls in his rookie season in a team that just brought in two pass-catching RBs to join the locked-in Jalen Richard. Now the team has brought in two wide receivers and Jason Witten in a clear commitment to the passing game. That a bad sign for a guy who will need to add touches and maintain his high efficiency to even match his draft position. It's time to chill out and wait a little longer for Josh Jacobs. The Cardinals offence is incredible for running backs, with David Johnson, Chase Edmonds and Kenyan Drake all having explosive moments in 2019. With DJ gone and Chase the clear backup, it's Drake's job in 2020 so that should mean a clear-cut RB1 right? Well, maybe. Drake played five games with the Cards. He was incredible against mediocre Browns and Seahawks defence he gifted him 6 TDs but struggled in the other games, maxing out at 15 touches in each. With DeAndre Hopkins now in town, this offence seems to be transitioning towards something more pass-heavy, which is normal for a second-year coach and a sophomore QB. I like Drake, but only enough to take him in the mid-late second rounds and maybe a touch earlier in PPR.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
IF Coach Gruden gets Jacobs more involved in the pass game, Jacobs will be a threat for top 5. Ricard and Washington combined for 84 targets, while each playing less than 30% of the snaps. Ricard has been resigned. Washington and his 41 targets are an UFA.ARZ threw to the RB 103 times last year. Assuming Edmonds gets his 20 or so like 2019, That should provide a safe floor for Drake in 2020. ARZ Kenyan Drake was a different beast: ARZ: 18.9 touches per game, 15.9PPG, 8 TDs MIA: 11.5 touches per game, 7.6PPG, 0 TDs Normally, I might be concerned about the limited sample, but the only person he didn't come in and immediately replace last year was of course not on the roster last year, 7th round pick, Eno Benjamin. His contract is interesting after 2020, in that there isn't one, so enjoy the ride
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
We've continually heard that Jacobs is going to be more heavily involved in the passing game, though that never materialized last year, seeing just 27 targets in 13 games played. Then we heard, "we're going to involve him more in 2020." They then re-signed Jalen Richard, added Henry Ruggs, and Lynn Bowden. It's not looking likely that Jacobs sees the 50-plus targets he deserves, which lowers him down the rankings. The overall offense should improve, giving him more scoring opportunities, but relying on touchdowns is a tricky thing. He's best-suited as a high-end RB2 who has RB1 upside if they follow through on the promise to use him more in the passing game. It's crazy to see Kenyan Drake not getting the respect he deserved when he performed the way he did under Kliff Kingsbury last year. Since coming over in Week 9, he was the No. 4 running back through the remainder of the fantasy season, and the Cardinals liked him enough to move on from David Johnson and not draft a running back until the seventh round.
