FantasyPros
Jacobs was in a RBBC at Alabama and he had only 120 caries last year, but he is a very talented back that should earn the lead role in Oakland. He is a high-end RB3 with upside if he can handle a starting running back role in the NFL.Lindsey concerns me with a new coaching staff, a new quarterback, and RB Royce Freeman behind him on the depth chart. He is a risky RB2 with both upside coming off a solid rookie season and uncertainty with Freeman likely to carve out a bigger role this year.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Any time you have a running back drafted inside the first round of the NFL Draft, you'd better consider him in fantasy football. Why? Over the last six years, first-round running backs have averaged 283.4 touches in their rookie season. While the Raiders aren't likely to be a high-scoring offense, they should be improved significantly with the talent they've added on offense. Jacobs should be a low-end RB2, at worstIt's pretty rare to see a running back who finished top 12 his rookie season despite missing a game fall down draft boards the following year, especially when the team didn't add another running back. That's precisely the case with Lindsay, who will share some touches with Royce Freeman, but Lindsay has proven to be much more capable in the pass-game than Freeman, which gives him the nod as the starter. While there is some built-in risk, it's not enough to knock Lindsay out of solid RB2 territory
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
If Jacobs is going to win the starting job, he's firmly on my radar as a high upside RB2Lindsay was fantastic as a rookie, but Royce Freeman deserves the ball more. He's a great RB2 or Flex, but I won't be forcing the issue.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
The Raiders used a first-round pick on Jacobs, so he should see a prominent role in the offense, particularly with Isaiah Crowell suffering a torn Achilles. Jacobs never had a huge workload in college, so it's unclear whether the Raiders intend to use him as a bell-cow back, especially with the re-signing of Doug Martin. Regardless, Jon Gruden's system works well for running backs, and Jacobs' pass-catching ability should give him a high floor each week. He should make a solid RB2 in all formats.Lindsay, an undrafted rookie, had a shocking breakout for the Broncos last year, totaling 1,278 yards and 10 touchdowns. He sustained a wrist injury late last year, needed surgery, and spent much of the offseason rehabbing. Despite his production, the Broncos seem intent on allowing Royce Freeman to split carries with Lindsay, and their signing of Theo Riddick (even though he is now injured) shows that they really want to spread the ball around in the backfield. Don't in any way forget about Lindsay on draft day as an RB2. But don't draft him expecting last year's numbers.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Extremely small sample, but Lindsay lined up from the slot + out wide on 2-of-8 'Flacco' snaps - a glimpse of what we've heard on his usage out of camp all offseason. @NotJDaigle

There is a massive opportunity share awaiting Jacobs in this OAK offense, both on the ground and through the air

Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Has been told that he will be the workhorse, which makes him an appealing pick, but the Raiders offense line looks to be in bad shape. Riskier than he may seem on the surface.Lindsay had over 1000 rushing yards, over 200 receiving yards and over 10 TDs last season. Despite that performance, he is now being disrespected and is expected to split carries. I still like Lindsay and expect him to get the lion's share of the touches. Solid pick at ADP.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
The upside - In a dreadful offense last season, Marshawn Lynch, Doug Martin, Jalen Richard, and Deandre Washington ran for 1473 yards and 8 TDs. The downside - Richard is still on the team and had 68 catches for 607 yards last season. The Antonio Brown saga is also one to monitor, as having Antonio Brown on the field will obviously benefit the young RB.Booker saw 30% of the Broncos snaps last season. With that usage likely out of the window now, there's room for Lindsay to be very good even with the involvement of Royce Freeman. Things were looking up for Lindsay when his OC referred to him and Freeman as Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman, but now his ceiling is capped with the signing of the pass-catching specialist Theo Riddick.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
With what seems to be no competition for the job, most anticipate Jacobs to have a huge workload. That may be the case, but we never saw him handle those type of touches or anything close in college, and Jalen Richard likely isn't going away in the passing game. While Jacobs is a safe bet for RB2 production, it might be wise to temper expectations in this offense.Royce Freeman is plenty talented behind Lindsay so it would be fair to worry about that, but try to remember just how great Lindsay was last season. If he is healthy, he will play, even in a new scheme. Whether that means being more involved in the passing game or not, you can rely on Lindsay to produce again if he is on the field.
Kyle Yates
The Fantasy Footballers
While underutilized at Alabama, Jacobs constantly displayed the talent that warranted his 1st round selection. He now enters an offense that is committed to running the ball and Jacobs is going to be the centerpiece. He's a well rounded running back and should be an immediate fantasy star right out of the gate.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Josh Jacobs is an extremely interesting pick this season. At his current ADP, he's a safe pick with a decent amount of upside. I'm cool drafting him in that mid third round range...but I'm afraid his ADP will climb a bit when hard knocks is released. At any rate, we know that he's going to be used as the featured back in this offense. Teams always use their RB's when they take them in the early to mid first round, and this is especially so seeing how Jacobs was drafted with the pick they received in the Mack trade. My current projection on him is around 1,200 total yards, and 6.8 total TD's. That comes out to the 21st highest ranking among RB's. I feel comfortable ranking him higher than the RB 21, though, because of the safety. We know that he's going to be used in all aspects of the game, and we know that this offense is going to improve on its number from last season.I have my concerns with Lindsay. I think he's a good RB, but the Broncos aren't going to very good this season, and Freeman isn't going anywhere. He was great last season, but he was only given over 15 carries in three games, and his TD rate is likely to regress from 9 on under 200 carries. He's also likely to see a few less carries, assuming Freeman can remain healthy this season. Lindsay can absolutely pay off his ADP, and I do like him in that late 4th/early 5th round range...but he's rarely still on the board at that point.
