FantasyPros
Dalvin Cook is the centerpiece of his offense, which is something that very few players in the NFL get to claim. At the time of writing, we're seeing him threaten to holdout if he doesn't get the contract extension he's looking for from the Minnesota Vikings. While Cook has the leverage in terms of his involvement in the offense, he still has yet to play a full 16-game season. This holdout may extend into the regular season and that's worrisome for fantasy owners. We'll have to take a wait-and-see approach right now, but he's a solid first-round pick if he does end his holdout.Smith-Schuster hurt a lot of people last season with his performance combined with the price you had to pay to get him in drafts. However, Big Ben is back behind center this season, which is crucial for the offense's success a whole. While I don't believe Juju has top-5 fantasy potential this season, he should be in the conversation for a low-end WR1/high-end WR2 all year long.

He's a potential holdout, but it's unlikely with the new CBA. For now I'm not lowering him but that might change in a month...

The Fantasy First Down
Dalvin Cook has massive league winning upside! (If he can say healthy.) That's the argument I'm hearing a lot of and it always comes with that little caveat in brackets, whispered in the hope you won't notice. Sadly with Cook it's hard not to notice him breaking down towards the end of every season and surely the Vikings must be as well. When you add in the awkward contract situation and things look very iffy when it comes to taking the Viking in the first five picks. That brings me to a major problem, Alexander Mattison. Mattison isn't a special back but he's shown he can do the job absolutely fine and that means a smart coach will use him to spell Cook a lot more. That's not what you want as the Cook owner as it really caps his upside. Feel free to take Cook somewhere in the Top 5 this draft season but know you're risking your season on a very shaky foundation. It's very difficult to project JuJu in 2020. After an amazing pair of breakout seasons, he massively disappointed thanks to injury and awful QB play. While Big Ben is back, JuJu remains a question mark thanks to the emergence of Diontae Johnson and James Washington and the arrival of Chase Claypool and Eric Ebron. I hope to see JuJu man the slot and get a large target volume but he remains a big risk you should avoid in the first two-three rounds.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Le'V Bell, Melvin Gordon are the most recent cautionary tales for why we should take a RB holdout threat seriously - Minimizing risk is key in early roundsBackend WR2 production thru Week 8 with QB Rudolph, but injuries (to JuJu, Rudolph) derailed 2nd half - Big Ben's return should help restore JuJu to WR Top 15

"The things I do coming out of the backfield, the things I do in between the tackles, I block, I pretty much do it all," Cook said. "I don't have to come off the field. I think some guys just don't do as much as I do, and I think that's why I'm today's (top) back." Cook solidified himself as an elite option at the position last season, but his injury history remains lengthy and concerning. -Pioneer Press Cook has slipped a couple of spots due to him threatening a holdout. As soon as he signs something he's the RB4, but I'd hesitate drafting him until he signs something.A quick reminder Juju is still having a historic start to his career. He will be entering next season at only 23 years. Screaming buy after a down 2019 season.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
He definitely didn't take hold of the alpha roll in Pittsburgh but I think the season is mostly a wash because of the QB change. It was a bit concerning that he was outpaced in targets by Diontae. And before he gets some hype from Big Ben returning let's not forget he had less targets than Washington, and Diontae, yes he played 80 less snaps but I have my concerns. And if the rumors of not resigning him are true, and with the addition of Claypool, the Steelers apparently have concerns as well.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It turns out Gary Kubiak is very good for a run-game. Cook took his game to another level in 2019, finishing as the No. 5 running back despite missing two games. Not only did he total 18-plus carries in eight games, but he also ranked third in yards per route run among running backs. With Stefon Diggs gone, we could see him highlighted even more in the passing game, though Justin Jefferson will eat some of them. Cook also led the league with 21 carries inside the five-yard-line. Health has always been a question mark with Cook, but when healthy, he's easily a top-10 back. After the Steelers selected Chase Claypool in the second round, they came out and said that Smith-Schuster will move back into the slot role he played while Antonio Brown was there. That's great news for his outlook, as it allows him to be mismatched with nickel cornerbacks who only come on the field at certain times. Provided Roethlisberger is healthy and returns to normal, Smith-Schuster should return low-end WR1/high-end WR2 numbers.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Cook had a breakout season with 1,654 yards from scrimmage and 13 touchdowns. Cook should be a perfect fit for Gary Kubiak's running back friendly offense and he should be an elite RB1 in 2020.A combination of 4 missed games and playing with 2nd and 3rd string quarterbacks derailed Smith-Schuster in 2019. He should rebound from 42 receptions, 552 receiving yards, and 3 receiving touchdowns, especially if Big Ben is healthy and the Big Ben of old.
