FantasyPros
Smith-Schuster should be the lead receiver in Pittsburgh with WR Antonio Brown on his way out the door. Smith-Schuster had 111 receptions for 1,426 yards and 7 touchdowns last year and he should be primed for a big jump in Year 3 as the lead receiver.Hilton had only 76 receptions, but those went for 1,270 yards and 6 touchdowns. QB Andrew Luck's arm strength improved over the season and Hilton's numbers should be better, provided QB Andrew Luck does not miss too much time with a calf injury.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
He's likely to have to work harder with A. Brown out of the picture, but Juju is in the mold of guys like Anquan Boldin and Hines Ward who didn't mind working hard and played like they were born to play football
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Juju is going 100/1600/10 this season. He is a beast and while people think the TDs may not be there, he was second in the league with 16 red zone receptions last season.TY Hilton went 76/120 receptions/targets with 1270/6 in 14 games last season. This season he'll be Juju lite version, 90 receptions, which he's done before in 2016, 1500 yards, reached 1448 in 2016, and a career high 8 TDs. Why? The Colts are bringing back their entire offensive line for a second year which never happens in today's NFL and Andrew Luck is fully healthy. He is going to have time to throw, and that time is going to lead too even more TY Hilton bombs. He averages 16 Y/R in his career.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
With Antonio Brown out of town, many will automatically assume that Smith-Schuster will get more targets. You shouldn't be so quick to jump aboard that train. He saw 166 targets in 2018, which ranked fourth in the league. On top of that, the Steelers threw the ball a league-high 687 times. On top of that, he'll now see a bit more shadow coverage from top cornerbacks, making life a tad difficult. He's still going to be the focal point of their pass-attack, making him worthy of a second-round pickIt went from Hilton as the only show in town, to what looks like a full house. He'll now compete with Devin Funchess, Parris Campbell, Eric Ebron, Jack Doyle, and Nyheim Hines for targets, though the connection between him and Luck cannot be duplicated. Hilton had always been known as a boom or bust type receiver, but Frank Reich's arrival boosted his consistency, as he posted WR2 or better numbers in a career-high 64.3 percent of his games
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
There is no doubt about it that JuJu was the best slot receiver in football last year. Part of that, of course, had to do with Antonio Brown drawing loads of attention, and it remains to a question how he will perform outside versus stronger cornerback matchups. The target share is expected to improve but that assumes Big Ben again throws a league-high 675 passes which seems unlikely.Through his seven year career, Hilton has finished inside the top 20 wideouts just 4 times and only once higher than #10. His upside is likely outside that top 10 being that he is 30 years old and sharing an offense with so many weapons. Fantasy owners can expect another strong WR2 season, however.
Kyle Yates
The Fantasy Footballers
The Steelers passed an absurd 689 times in 2018, which lead to incredible opportunities for both Antonio Brown and Juju. With Brown now in Oakland, there's the potential for Juju to step in and receive a ridiculous amount of targets. However, I'm projecting the Steelers offense to move more towards a balanced approach by running the ball more and Juju is going to draw consistent double team coverage. While I still believe Juju can prevail under these circumstances, expectations need to be tempered with the young 22 year old.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Juju has the 4th most receptions of all time through a WR's first two seasons. And that was with AB there. AB accumulated 168 targets last season. Try to wrap your head around that. Juju had 166 targets last year…and now 168 have just been vacated. Please don't listen to people who tell you that he'll do worse because he's the #1 now. There is absolutely a chance that he regresses on a per target basis, but there is very little talent in that WR core and they are going to find themselves down more than usual. 180 targets is well within his range of outcomes. My latest projection update has Juju with 175 targets, and he has edged past Adams with my top overall projectionAs a result of a hamstring pull in week 4, Hilton missed week's 5-6, played on a limited snap count in week 7, then acted mostly as a decoy in week 8 before a week 9 bye. However, from week 10 on he posted a jaw dropping 917 receiving yards. If we take his average stat line from weeks 10-17, and extrapolate over a full season, it comes out to 100/1,834/4. Juju had the second most receiving yards over that stretch...with 163 less yards. Nick Sirianni and Frank Reich have done an amazing job with this offense, and the return of Doyle, plus the addition of Campbell should mean that no team can possibly double Hilton. He's going to have some mediocre weeks, but he's also going to win you a few on his own. I'm comfortable taking him at his current ADP.
