FantasyPros
There are not nearly as many familiar faces for Tom Brady to look at nowadays, but Edelman remains his favorite target. With Rob Gronkowski ailing last year, Edelman stepped up and finished as a WR2 or better in 75 percent of his games, a new career-high. With Gronkowski and Chris Hogan gone, Edelman's role isn't going to shrink in 2019. He's a sturdy WR2 presenceDespite dealing with a chest injury that hampered his rushing ability in the middle of the season then losing both Will Fuller and Keke Coutee for portions of the season, Watson finished as the QB4, ahead of Andrew Luck. Now bring back a healthy Fuller and Coutee alongside DeAndre Hopkins with a healthy Watson, and you might have yourself a contender for the QB1 in 2019
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Edelman was outstanding last year after returning from suspension, playing as a strong WR1 in PPR formats. He's getting up there in age but with Rob Gronkowski gone and incredible chemistry with Tom Brady, there shouldn't be many concerns. Josh Gordon's return takes a minor bit of shine off Edelman, but in any format where you are awarded anything for receptions, he will likely put up WR1 numbers.Watson's rushing ability gives him an incredibly high floor for a fantasy quarterback, as his 551 yards rushing and five touchdowns last year more than made up for any deficiencies as a passer. With a full complement of receivers (assuming Keke Coutee's ankle injury improves) and with Duke Johnson in the fold, Watson could be in for a career year. Like last season, however, he'll likely get hit a ton, as the Texans' offensive line is still sub-par despite the draft capital they spent to address it. He's an injury risk, but should be one of the first quarterbacks taken on draft day.
Kevin Wheeler

Deshaun Watson leads all quarterbacks (min. 18 games) in fantasy points per game over the past two seasons (by 1.5). @ScottBarrettDFB
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
In Half-PPR formats, he delivered 12+ FAN PTS in 10 of 12 games - He was WR14 in FAN PPG, a level he should be able to sustain in a now Gronk-less offenseHas highest passing upside in fantasy among the QBs that might get you 500+ rushing yards - 45 pass TDs, 7 rush TDs in 23 career games
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Edelman had 74 receptions for 850 yards and 6 touchdowns in 12 games last year. He sees a ton of short passes and he should maintain WR3 value this year.Watson was not as good as he was in his rookie season from a fantasy perspective, but he should be better in 2019 than 2018 a year removed from ACL surgery. He also was fourth among fantasy quarterback s last year, he just did not have the monster games that made him a fantasy favorite in 2018.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Despite the age, Julian Edelman is lined up for what could be a career year. He was on pace to eclipse 150 targets last season if he were to play in all 16 games, and that was with Josh Gordon for some time and Gronk for some time. The Pats did not make any real splashes to boost their position players this offseason, so it is going to be all Julian Edelman again for the wideouts.Stud and a half last season. Had over 4000 passing yards and over 500 rushing yards. Expect even more of the same but even better as he continues to grow as a QB. He holds the ball way too long and his O-line is not good, but if he can get rid of the ball quicker and if his O-line can even slightly improve, he could have a ridiculous season.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
The upside is clear with Watson, who has a good system and two fantastic weapons. HOU also upgrade their o-line, so he shouldn't be on his back as much.
Sean Koerner
The Action Network
misses 3.2 games a season not including 2017 ACL year
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Those expecting Edelman to outperform his ADP might be in for a surprise as he has never finished higher than WR19 in fantasy. Part of this has to do with his inability to stay on the field and at 33 years old, reversing that tendency may prove a difficult task. He comes with reliability while healthy but perhaps with a price tag too steep. As great as Watson has been through the air over his first 22 games, he also has 820 rushing yards and 7 rushing TDs in that time. All of his underlying passing metrics went through the roof last year but his TD-rate unsurprisingly regressed. We can expect it to hang out there in the future, putting him in the 25 to 30 passing TD range. We can only help the unaddressed offensive line can keep him alive long enough to reach that mark.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Since becoming a full-time starter in 2013, Edelman has averaged 2.5 more targets, 1.25 more receptions and 15 more yards per game without gronk in the lineup. His stats sans Gronk, regressed over a full season, comes out to 181 targets / 116.8 receptions / 1,289 yards / 4.8 TD's. That stat line would have finished 10th last season. Edelman has the 13th highest projection according to my model and his projection is extremely reasonable. The biggest risk with Edelman is with his health. He's really struggled to stay healthy over his career and he's got one of the highest projections for games missed due to injury this season. Fortunately, that's the only risk he carries. He's going to produce every game he plays, and he very rarely has down games. Since 2015 he has just three total games with less than 6 targets. In those games, his stat lines were, 4/84/1, 4/53/0, 4/120/1. Edelman is coming off the board as the WR 15 in the 4th round. The only way he doesn't finish as a value is if he gets hurt, and even then, he'll still get there on a per game level, So if he's hurt for 4 weeks, then just slide in one of the million under valued receivers going late in drafts. You won't be taking a 0 for the games he misses. In his first two seasons as a pro, Watson has been 1st and 4th in fantasy points per game. Mobile QB's are a cheat code for fantasy, especially when they also come with passing upside. Watson is a 5TD threat every time he steps onto the field, and when you add that to his rushing floor, you get an extremely safe pick. This is not an offense built to run the football. Miller and Foreman will get their work, and the Texans will likely finish around league average in carries...but they have the weapons to install a more pass centric offense than they've been in recent years. If Hopkins, Fuller and Coutee can all stay healthy...then Watson is set to finish in the top 5 yet again.
