FantasyPros
There are not nearly as many familiar faces for Tom Brady to look at nowadays, but Edelman remains his favorite target. With Rob Gronkowski ailing last year, Edelman stepped up and finished as a WR2 or better in 75 percent of his games, a new career-high. With Gronkowski and Chris Hogan gone, Edelman's role isn't going to shrink in 2019. He's a sturdy WR2 presenceIt's clear that the Lions view Golladay as their long-term WR1, though you have to wonder just how high his ceiling will be. Despite Golden Tate leaving and Marvin Jones missing time at the end of the season, Golladay finished as the No. 21 receiver in fantasy. When drafting him as your WR2, understand that he may not have the upside or consistency of guys like Stefon Diggs and Brandin Cooks
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
In Half-PPR formats, he delivered 12+ FAN PTS in 10 of 12 games - He was WR14 in FAN PPG, a level he should be able to sustain in a now Gronk-less offenseEntering his 3rd year, which used to be the magical breakout season for WRs, but with a 70/1063/5 line in '18, he kind of already broke out - with his talent and another year of experience, fair to expect even more in '19
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Edelman was outstanding last year after returning from suspension, playing as a strong WR1 in PPR formats. He's getting up there in age but with Rob Gronkowski gone and incredible chemistry with Tom Brady, there shouldn't be many concerns. Josh Gordon's return takes a minor bit of shine off Edelman, but in any format where you are awarded anything for receptions, he will likely put up WR1 numbers.Golladay broke out last year, totaling over 1,000 yards and five touchdowns. But the vast majority of his production came after Golden Tate was traded and Marvin Jones went down with a season-ending injury. Given that Matt Patricia wants to run the ball as much as possible, it's unclear how much Golladay can produce with Jones in the lineup. But, the Lions should be behind in the majority of their games, so despite Patricia's desire, they'll likely need to throw the ball more. Golladay has talent but it's difficult to see him being much more than a mid-tier WR2 this season. That's certainly valuable, but not a superstar.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Despite the age, Julian Edelman is lined up for what could be a career year. He was on pace to eclipse 150 targets last season if he were to play in all 16 games, and that was with Josh Gordon for some time and Gronk for some time. The Pats did not make any real splashes to boost their position players this offseason, so it is going to be all Julian Edelman again for the wideouts.I liked Golladay A LOT last season but his price has gone up too much for me to like him this season. He went 70/1063/5, but that was without Marvin Jones for a significant amount of time, TJ Hockenson, and Darren Bevell, who will likely turn the Lions into a run first team for the first time in ages.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
After Tate was shipped out last season, Babytron's 16-game pace was 80/1172/4.

The Action Network

Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Those expecting Edelman to outperform his ADP might be in for a surprise as he has never finished higher than WR19 in fantasy. Part of this has to do with his inability to stay on the field and at 33 years old, reversing that tendency may prove a difficult task. He comes with reliability while healthy but perhaps with a price tag too steep.Golladay did have a mini breakout last season but it came while Marvin Jones was shelved and Golden Tate was playing in Philly. Now that he isn't the only competent receiver on the depth chart, his volume share should plummet. He is still a WR2, but be careful with the extent of your expectations.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Since becoming a full-time starter in 2013, Edelman has averaged 2.5 more targets, 1.25 more receptions and 15 more yards per game without gronk in the lineup. His stats sans Gronk, regressed over a full season, comes out to 181 targets / 116.8 receptions / 1,289 yards / 4.8 TD's. That stat line would have finished 10th last season. Edelman has the 13th highest projection according to my model and his projection is extremely reasonable. The biggest risk with Edelman is with his health. He's really struggled to stay healthy over his career and he's got one of the highest projections for games missed due to injury this season. Fortunately, that's the only risk he carries. He's going to produce every game he plays, and he very rarely has down games. Since 2015 he has just three total games with less than 6 targets. In those games, his stat lines were, 4/84/1, 4/53/0, 4/120/1. Edelman is coming off the board as the WR 15 in the 4th round. The only way he doesn't finish as a value is if he gets hurt, and even then, he'll still get there on a per game level, So if he's hurt for 4 weeks, then just slide in one of the million under valued receivers going late in drafts. You won't be taking a 0 for the games he misses.Golladay is a popular breakout pick this season, but I've yet to take him in a mock draft. It's not that he's a bad pick, or that he needs to be avoided at all, but there just always seems to be someone else I'd rather have. Golladay posted a 70/1063/5 stat line in his sophomore season in 2018, and there is absolutely room for him to expand on that number this season. The Lions only good WR's are him, Jones and Amendola...so he's going to see a significant share of the targets. The problem is that 1) the Lions are going to run the ball a lot this season...and 2) Jones was used more as the downfield threat and red zone option before his injury last season. Golladay absolutely proved that he's capable of an expanded role, so that could change in his third year, but it's still tough to pull the trigger on him as often times my #1 WR (after going RB heavy in the first three rounds). By no means should you avoid Golladay, but for sure don't reach on him, because there are a lot of great options still on the board in his range.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Edelman had 74 receptions for 850 yards and 6 touchdowns in 12 games last year. He sees a ton of short passes and he should maintain WR3 value this year.Golladay was one of the pleasant surprises in Detroit last year and he should have WR2 value playing with QB Matthew Stafford.
