Lineups
I hate my ranking of Julio Jones at #5, but it has more to do with how much I like the players ahead of him rather than any knock on Jones. Last year was Julio's first without at least 1,400 yards since 2013. In every seasons where he played 16 games, and even a couple where he didn't, he's finished with 1,200+ yards. Julio is arguably the most consistent and reliable player in fantasy football, especially since the Falcons attempted the most passes in the NFL last year. The only issue for Julio has been inconsistencies in the touchdown department, something that doesn't appear likely to change at this point. Still, you can't go wrong with Julio in the first round.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Jones disappointed fantasy owners who spent a first-round pick on him in fantasy drafts in '17, when he scored only three touchdowns. After rewarding owners that selected him in 2018 with eight touchdowns to go along with a league leading 1,676 receiving yards, his numbers slumped in 2019 before he delivered 23 catches for 300 yards and a pair of scores over Weeks 15 and 16.Although Smith-Schuster moved into Pittsburgh's No. 1 receiver role after the team's trade of Antonio Brown prior to last season, his 2019 wasn't what fantasy owners were expecting. That was due in large part to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffering a season-ending injury in Week 2, and neither Mason Rudolph nor Duck Hodges emerging as an adequate replacement.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
WR6, WR2, WR6, WR4, WR5, WR3. Has anyone been more reliable in fantasy over the last six years? Julio Jones continues to churn out the numbers in this high powered Falcons offence. That's despite consistently low TD numbers and serious target competition in Calvin Ridley and Austin Hooper. While Ridley will undoubtedly continue to grow in this offense, Julio remains the superior player and with Hooper gone there's certainly room for both. Jones is often available early in the second round and that's spectacular value for a guy who's so reliable. It's very difficult to project JuJu in 2020. After an amazing pair of breakout seasons, he massively disappointed thanks to injury and awful QB play. While Big Ben is back, JuJu remains a question mark thanks to the emergence of Diontae Johnson and James Washington and the arrival of Chase Claypool and Eric Ebron. I hope to see JuJu man the slot and get a large target volume but he remains a big risk you should avoid in the first two-three rounds.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Fade aging wide receivers, they said. Julio laughs as he posted his sixth straight season with more than 1,390 yards. He still has just one season under his belt with double-digit touchdowns, which is quite ridiculous when you consider he's had three seasons with 1,500-plus yards. He's as safe as they come at the wide receiver position. Think 31 years old is too old? Check out this piece on what age a wide receiver declines. There are a lot of fantasy owners drafting Tyreek Hill over him, and while I understand the upside Hill presents on a weekly basis, Jones presents stability that Hill can only dream of. Hill has posted WR2 or better numbers in 21-of-43 games (48.8 percent) over his career. Meanwhile, Jones has hit that mark in 64.8 percent of his career games and has posted WR1-type numbers in 42.4 percent of them. Sure, Calvin Ridley is going to ascend, but a lot of his ascension comes from the missing targets from Mohamed Sanu. Jones should be the No. 3 wide receiver off draft boards, at worst.Did everyone forget just how talented Smith-Schuster is because he had a down year in 2019? He played through multiple injuries and dealt with what was probably the worst quarterback situation in the league. In Week 1 and Week 2, when Ben Roethlisberger was on the field, Smith-Schuster saw 16 targets, catching 11 of them for 162 yards. Not too shabby. Insert bad quarterbacks, paired with Smith-Schuster trying to run routes from the perimeter, and it was a recipe for disaster. The Steelers have vowed to put him back in the slot where he belongs, and he's getting back Roethlisberger, who's continually supported fantasy receivers throughout his long career. Going all the way back to 2008, Ben Roethlisberger's No. 1 and No. 2 wide receivers combined for at least 225 targets on eight different occasions, including 334 times when he had Antonio Brown and Smith-Schuster in 2018. With Roethlisberger on the field, the Steelers haven't thrown the ball less than 584 times since way back in 2012. It's hard to see a scenario where Smith-Schuster doesn't see at least 130 targets if he's healthy (that would be just a 22.2 percent target share), which is elite volume, so even if he's average, he'd be a high-end WR2. I'll leave you with this... Smith-Schuster posted 1,426 yards in his second NFL season at the age of 22. There are just six players who posted more yardage in one of their first two seasons. The list includes Isaac Bruce, Josh Gordon, Torry Holt, Jerry Rice, Victor Cruz, and Odell Beckham Jr. We can't pretend Smith-Schuster is anywhere close to average. He's worth a third-round pick in drafts, even though many are getting him in the fourth.

Julio will Julio, until Julio isn't Julio. TD rate has to increase eventually, yardage total is Jerry Rice worthy every season. The prototypical bounceback pick. If we took him as a WR1 in 2019, and Ben went down, what has changed? Very little. JuJu is a dynamite pick at ADP

Year in and year out Julio Jones proves to be one of the most incredible football players (not just WRs) in the NFL. His reception and yardage numbers are up there with the leagues best but unfortunately, he's always had a difficult time finding the end-zone. Only once in his nine-year career has he eclipsed 10 receiving TDs. His low TD numbers are the only reason he isn't an automatic top-3 WR.Heading into the 2019 season there wasn't a WR more primed for a breakout than Juju Smith-Schuster and then Ben Roethlisberger got hurt. That changed Juju's entire season turning him from a WR1 to a WR3 pretty quickly. Now, with BIg Ben slated to return, Juju has a legitimate shot to finish as a WR1 in 2020. We know he has the talent, now it's just about Roethlisberger and himself staying healthy.

Could rebound in a huge way w/ Big Ben back, but the emergences of Diontae Johnson and James Washington as real talents could cloud the previous target-hog role he was destined for. And who knows if he can truly handle No.1 corners? The Alphas are typically more QB Proof than this.

With all the vacated targets from last season's ATL offense, NOLA's M. Thomas might be the only WR in 2020 to hold a candle to Jones' target volumeBackend WR2 production thru Week 8 with QB Rudolph, but injuries (to JuJu, Rudolph) derailed 2nd half - Big Ben's return should help restore JuJu to WR Top 15

The age defying machine. Draft with confidence, especially if you can pair him with a first round RB.

Jones is the model of consistency, his season has ended with him ranked 8th, 2nd, 6th, 6th, 5th, and 5th the last six seasons. He does turn 31-years old this off-season, but there is no reason to think he can't be an elite WR1 with QB Matt Ryan at the helm in 2020.A combination of 4 missed games and playing with 2nd and 3rd string quarterbacks derailed Smith-Schuster in 2019. He should rebound from 42 receptions, 552 receiving yards, and 3 receiving touchdowns, especially if Big Ben is healthy and the Big Ben of old.

Julio Jones had 1394 receiving yards last season, second in the league only to Michael Thomas, and that was his LOWEST yardage output since his rookie season in 2013. You can't find a more consistent player year-over-year and at 31 years old, he certainly still has enough left in him to stay at this level for another year.

It's hard to find someone who's been as outstanding as Julio Jones over the past few years. Jones has finished as the WR5 or higher each of the past three seasons and he seems like a lock to repeat that type of performance again in 2020. This offense is going to air it out and Jones has yet to show any sign that he's losing a step at this point of his career. Feel confident in drafting Jones again as a top-5 option in 2020.Smith-Schuster hurt a lot of people last season with his performance combined with the price you had to pay to get him in drafts. However, Big Ben is back behind center this season, which is crucial for the offense's success a whole. While I don't believe Juju has top-5 fantasy potential this season, he should be in the conversation for a low-end WR1/high-end WR2 all year long.

Matt Ryan has supported 2 Top 24 PPR WRs four times in his career. Amongst active QBs, only Aaron Rodgers has more seasons of supporting 2 Top 24 WRs. @ClutchFantasyA quick reminder Juju is still having a historic start to his career. He will be entering next season at only 23 years. Screaming buy after a down 2019 season.

A monster. 6 year average of 162 targets, 103/1565/6. Now, if I were to find some chips in the Julio armor, his yards per reception were his lowest in a full season since 2015. His yards per target were a career low. This might be the beginning of the end, but I think he gives us a few more good years before that time, he's such a freak, and if I were to bet, he won't age like your standard big WR.He definitely didn't take hold of the alpha roll in Pittsburgh but I think the season is mostly a wash because of the QB change. It was a bit concerning that he was outpaced in targets by Diontae. And before he gets some hype from Big Ben returning let's not forget he had less targets than Washington, and Diontae, yes he played 80 less snaps but I have my concerns. And if the rumors of not resigning him are true, and with the addition of Claypool, the Steelers apparently have concerns as well.
