Exhibiting skills that are similar to those of Rams receiver Robert Woods, Jefferson is a tough receiver and savvy route runner who played a big part in Joe Burrow's breakout year at LSU. More of a complementary player than a true No. 1, Jefferson will have a chance to contribute as a rookie opposite Adam Thielen with Stefon Diggs having been dealt by Minnesota in March.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
Of all the rookie WR's, Reagor is the one I think has the chance to make the biggest impact in year one. The Eagles have a deep WR room but it's filled with injury-prone veterans like Alshon Jeffrey and DeSean Jackson who are unlikely to make it through 16 games. I wouldn't reach for Reagor but I like him as a bench stash with high upside.Jefferson steps directly into the WR2 role for the Vikings after the departure of Stefon Diggs this offseason. With no preseason it may take Jefferson a couple of weeks to get acclimated, but over 16 games, he should see the most targets of any rookie wideout. He's definitely someone worth targeting at the end of drafts.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Jalen Reagor looks like he may be the Eagles slot receiver but I'm not entirely sure that's his strength. He's small, runs mediocre routes and profiles as more of a DJax-style deep threat. While that's fine in isolation, the Eagles already have two good outside receivers meaning Reagor may be forced into the slot. Alshon Jeffery starting on the PUP list will give Reagor a great opportunity to start off the season but Jeffery will still play in front of him when healthy. Reagor's injury makes life even harder for the rookie as he'll have less time to stake his claim. When you consider the Eagles gave their tight ends and running backs an astonishing 349 targets last season, it's hard to see space for Reagor behind big names like Ertz, Goedert and Sanders in the middle of the field. Reagor is a gamble that's starting to look more worthwhile but don't get caught up in the hype and reach for him as he's unlikely to be a league winner once he returns from injury.Justin Jefferson has regularly been under-estimated compared to the big three of Ruggs, Lamb and Jeudy and that's simply not an accurate representation of his ability. Now falling into a brilliant opportunity in the wide-open Minnesota back-field, Jefferson will get the perfect chance to prove himself and I believe he's the rookie you want in 2020. He's expected to play mostly out of the slot but showed in 2018 that he's very capable of bouncing outside so he should play on most downs. Adam Thielen's stats prove that the slot snaps are most valuable in Minnesota so Jefferson should be the hot ticket in town. Excitingly, he's available well into the double-digit rounds and is the perfect late-round dart throw, especially in PPR.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Reagor sustained a shoulder injury on August 30th and although the word is that he'll avoid surgery, he's reportedly likely to miss about four weeks. Prior to the injury, Reagor was set to be a value in drafts, as Alshon Jeffery's injury and a lack of reliable receiving options outside DeSean Jackson had him set to see a significant role. The timetable for his return is far from certain, but given that Reagor is a rookie and hasn't had any preseason contests to experience the speed of an NFL game, fantasy managers shouldn't count on production for him at the outset even after he returns. That's especially true given that he won't have as much time to benefit from Jeffery's likely absence to start the season. All in all, Reagor is a bench stash currently, but be prepared to be unable to use him for fantasy purposes for at least several weeks into the season.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It was a shock to see the Eagles pass on Justin Jefferson to select Reagor because Jefferson seemed tailormade for their offense, but that doesn't make Reagor a bad choice. In fact, he was my No. 3 receiver in this draft class behind only Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb. He's a very explosive player who can play all over the field and create yards after the catch. Knowing that Marquise Goodwin opted out, Alshon Jeffery looks likely to start on the PUP list, and DeSean Jackson turning 34 years old, Reagor might lead this team's wide receivers in targets. All we've heard this offseason is that Reagor is "everything the Eagles thought he'd be and more." You can read my scouting report on him here. If Jeffery does, in fact, start out the season on the PUP list, Reagor is someone I'm willing to draft with one of my first bench spots, as he has 100-target potential. I can make the case for him to be a WR3 in fantasy, but you don't want to erase all equity. *Update* Reagor suffered an injury during training camp and may be out for a month, which would extend two weeks into the regular season. Stay tuned for more updates on his injury. In case you didn't know, Jefferson is coming off a ridiculous season with LSU where he tallied 111 receptions for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns over 15 games. He played the big-slot role for them, which is something the Vikings should take into consideration when figuring out how to best deploy him. Unfortunately, Jefferson wound up on the COVID list and is being forced to miss a lot of camp. Still, he's a route-running technician who's playing behind a 30-year-old receiver who's been dealing with back issues. There's an avenue where Jefferson is relied upon as a rookie more than most think, though it would likely require Thielen to be out of the lineup. Under Gary Kubiak/Kevin Stefanski last year, the wide receivers saw just 43.2 percent of the target share (4th-lowest mark in the NFL), making it very difficult for multiple options to be fantasy relevant on a week-to-week basis. Because of that, Jefferson is essentially just a wide receiver handcuff.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Jalen Reagor lands in a great spot here in Philadelphia with a top-tier QB in Carson Wentz. While Reagor may be relegated to schemed touches in year one, he'll most likely step into the DeSean Jackson role in 2021. You may have to wait a while for Reagor to truly hit, but he has the talent and draft capital to make an impact for fantasy football.Justin Jefferson landed in a beautiful spot for fantasy football, as he steps in alongside Adam Thielen and will assume the Stefon Diggs role. Thielen and Jefferson are the only true players there that should command targets and we know that Thielen has started to deal with some injuries the past couple of years. Jefferson should easily see over 100 targets in year one and may bring even more upside if something were to happen to Adam Thielen.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
Let's take a moment to stat out the Eagles offense. The good news: They've never gone below 564 ATT with Pederson at the helm. The bad news: when you stat it out Ertz - 120 Goedert - 75, if you think 195 targets is too much for the position they had 222 last year and Goedert isn't going anywhere Alshon - 100. He paced for more last year but pretty easy to assume injury Sanders - 65. And that's a modest total. He had 63 last year DJax - 65. Could be modest as well but trying to make a point. That's 425 Targets, redistribute them how you want but I think the number for that group is fair. You've probably realized that still leaves AT LEAST 139 targets! I didn't bother statting out the smaller pieces but the RB as whole generally AVGs closer to 100 targets with Doug, Arcega-Whiteside lurks, another 75 potential targets disappearing. I have nothing against Reagor, but the idea that he's challenging for WR1 in dynasty and will some kind of steal in redraft feels questionable to me. 75 targets year 1 would be a win IMO, not a ton of fantasy relevance for that though. Crossroads Point: You just based your whole argument on numbers you made up, Seth2019 Slot % Diggs - 14.7 Thielen - 29.3 Bisi - 34 Beebe - 52.5 (barely played) Justin Jefferson is going to be a WR2 right out of the gate. His biggest obstacle? Not Adam Thielen, but passing volume. No one had over 100 targets and Cook was 2nd on the team with 63. Injuries played a part in this but the Vikings went from 606 ATT in 2018, fired Defilippo, 466 ATT in 2019. The slot roll was basically a committee in 2019, Jefferson should consolidate that in 2020
