Zachary Hanshew
FantasyPros
The second-round pick appeared in just seven games in 2019 due to a variety of injuries, though he's entering this season with an optimistic outlook on his health. He should take the field in 3WR sets alongside Michael Pittman and T.Y. Hilton, and the speedy Ohio State product could be valuable in deeper leagues.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Exhibiting skills that are similar to those of Rams receiver Robert Woods, Jefferson is a tough receiver and savvy route runner who played a big part in Joe Burrow's breakout year at LSU. More of a complementary player than a true No. 1, Jefferson will have a chance to contribute as a rookie opposite Adam Thielen with Stefon Diggs having been dealt by Minnesota in March.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
Jefferson steps directly into the WR2 role for the Vikings after the departure of Stefon Diggs this offseason. With no preseason it may take Jefferson a couple of weeks to get acclimated, but over 16 games, he should see the most targets of any rookie wideout. He's definitely someone worth targeting at the end of drafts.Campbell's rookie season was cut short due to injury but now back at 100%, he's an interesting player to watch heading into 2020. He's got an upgrade at QB with Philip Rivers and should be second in line for targets. That being said, he hasn't shown enough yet to be worthy of a draft pick.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
In case you didn't know, Jefferson is coming off a ridiculous season with LSU where he tallied 111 receptions for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns over 15 games. He played the big-slot role for them, which is something the Vikings should take into consideration when figuring out how to best deploy him. Unfortunately, Jefferson wound up on the COVID list and is being forced to miss a lot of camp. Still, he's a route-running technician who's playing behind a 30-year-old receiver who's been dealing with back issues. There's an avenue where Jefferson is relied upon as a rookie more than most think, though it would likely require Thielen to be out of the lineup. Under Gary Kubiak/Kevin Stefanski last year, the wide receivers saw just 43.2 percent of the target share (4th-lowest mark in the NFL), making it very difficult for multiple options to be fantasy relevant on a week-to-week basis. Because of that, Jefferson is essentially just a wide receiver handcuff. If T.Y. Hilton continues to miss time with his hamstring ailment, Campbell is a candidate for sleeper of the year. Going back through the years with Philip Rivers, there's always been a target over the middle of the field. Whether it be Antonio Gates, Hunter Henry, Keenan Allen, or Eddie Royal. Campbell is going to fill the slot role when T.Y. Hilton is healthy, which isn't a bad thing. And if Hilton were to miss time, Campbell will move around the formation. Fortunately, he's a bigger, stronger, and faster version of Hilton. We haven't seen him play at the level Hilton has, but the Colts did draft him in the second round last year, highlighting their vision for him in this offense. While Hilton remains sidelined and rookie Michael Pittman tries to acclimate to the NFL, Campbell is a dark horse to lead this team in targets. Taking him in the double-digit rounds makes tons of sense, and best of all, you'll find out what you have over the first couple weeks.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Justin Jefferson has regularly been under-estimated compared to the big three of Ruggs, Lamb and Jeudy and that's simply not an accurate representation of his ability. Now falling into a brilliant opportunity in the wide-open Minnesota back-field, Jefferson will get the perfect chance to prove himself and I believe he's the rookie you want in 2020. He's expected to play mostly out of the slot but showed in 2018 that he's very capable of bouncing outside so he should play on most downs. Adam Thielen's stats prove that the slot snaps are most valuable in Minnesota so Jefferson should be the hot ticket in town. Excitingly, he's available well into the double-digit rounds and is the perfect late-round dart throw, especially in PPR.The Parris Campbell hype is growing but it's rather overblown. I understand the Rivers-slot connection and Parris does have talent, I just don't seem him as much more than a possible flex option in PPR if things go right. I'd rather shoot for a little more upside.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Justin Jefferson landed in a beautiful spot for fantasy football, as he steps in alongside Adam Thielen and will assume the Stefon Diggs role. Thielen and Jefferson are the only true players there that should command targets and we know that Thielen has started to deal with some injuries the past couple of years. Jefferson should easily see over 100 targets in year one and may bring even more upside if something were to happen to Adam Thielen. As of right now, Campbell and Hilton might cancel each other out from a fantasy football perspective. However, if Hilton misses time again this season, Campbell would immediately jump up into top-30 WR discussion.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Campbell outproduced Terry McLaurin in college while being two years younger. He was also a higher draft selection. He's an interesting late round pick at WR.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Campbell should be a prime sleeper this season, after missing all but seven games in his rookie season with injury. Philip Rivers likes to push the ball deep, and Campbell's elite speed should mesh with Rivers' skill set well. You can't rely on any Colts wide receiver outside of T.Y. Hilton as a fantasy starter, but Campbell has tons of upside and can play out of the slot, and should be drafted and stashed on fantasy benches everywhere.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
2019 Slot % Diggs - 14.7 Thielen - 29.3 Bisi - 34 Beebe - 52.5 (barely played) Justin Jefferson is going to be a WR2 right out of the gate. His biggest obstacle? Not Adam Thielen, but passing volume. No one had over 100 targets and Cook was 2nd on the team with 63. Injuries played a part in this but the Vikings went from 606 ATT in 2018, fired Defilippo, 466 ATT in 2019. The slot roll was basically a committee in 2019, Jefferson should consolidate that in 2020Only had 3 games where he was on the field at least 49% of the time. Had 18 targets in those 3 games. Abdominal injury, Fractured Hand, Fractured Foot. Check, Check, Check. 97th+ percentile 40 yard dash, Speed, and Burst Score? Check, Check, Check. 6', 200lbs. 1000 yard season while sharing the field with Terry McLaurin at Ohio St. Now, his competition. Pittman hasn't been a pillar of health himself: broken collarbone (January 2016), hand surgery (January 2017), high left ankle sprain (August 2017), broken nose (August 2017) and shoulder surgery (January 2019), and he fills a completely different roll than Campbell. Pittman is not a YAC threat like Campbell. Hilton also hasn't played 16 games since 2017. Counting on a healthy season at 31 is just as risky as any of the IND options. I'm ready for a Chark like bounce back in year 2, after everyone has moved on to the next shiny toy in Indy, Pittman.
