Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Based on the actual opportunity Chubb got in 2020, he should've finished as the RB24 in half PPR formats. Instead, Chubb scored 54.5 more fantasy points than the average running back would've and finished as the RB9 despite playing in just 12 games. The new offense proved to be very beneficial to the run game, though Kareem Hunt's presence does limit Chubb's true ceiling, which should be top-five, but unless he starts to get more targets, he'll remain in the mid-to-low-end RB1 range. The marriage between the Raiders and Drake is an odd one, as Drake was somewhat of a Josh Jacobs doppleganger last year. They both finished between 3.9 and 4.0 yards per carry, both scored double-digit rushing touchdowns, and both were extremely limited in the passing game. The Raiders have continually given guys like DeAndre Washington, Jalen Richard, and Devontae Booker work alongside Jacobs over the last two years, so Drake is going to get mixed in quite heavily, and my guess would be that the passing game is where he gets most of it. You may not remember, but Drake was considered a solid third-down back early in his career with the Dolphins, and has two seasons with 50-plus catches on his NFL resume. It's tough to see him eating into Jacobs' carry totals a whole lot, especially after the way he looked with the Cardinals in 2020, but he should offer low-upside flex value due to his work in the passing game.
Wolf of Roto Street
Roto Street Journal
Gross spot behind a dismantled Raiders OL as Josh Jacobs' second-fiddle -- but projected out highly due to high receiving upside
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
As far as pure running ability, Chubb might be the best back in the entire NFL. His vision, contact balance, and power are on display with every single run and he's put up ridiculous efficiency metrics through his first few seasons in the league. He should see a significant workload again in 2021, but his lack of involvement in the receiving game prevents him from being vaulted into a top-3 option at the position. Just like Henry in Tennessee, he'll be one of the most reliable and consistent RB options out there, but his upside is capped due to his lack of targets. He'll still a worthy investment in the top-10 at the position, but just keep in mind that he's going to have to score an ungodly amount of touchdowns to vault over some of the other top candidates at the position.Drake signed a massive deal - for a RB - in free agency to come to Las Vegas, but he's certainly going to take a dip in production from what we've seen over the past couple of years. He'll be heavily involved as a receiver all over the formation in this offense, but it's unlikely to lead to consistent fantasy production week after week. Drake's now in the territory of a low-upside FLEX play that will need Jacobs to miss time with an injury to see his workload increase.
John Hesterman
Dynasty League Football
Nick Chubb was the only other RB to crack the top-ten RB's in .5 scoring (aside from Alvin Kamra) with less than 200 carries. And Chubb did so without the receptions. He is the only RB to finish with over 1,000 rushing yards on less than 200 carries, showing he is an elite ball carrier. In standard scoring and .5 formats, he should remain a top-tier option at a slight discount.
Brendan Tuma
FantasyPros
Entering his fourth season in the NFL, Nick Chubb is becoming a known commodity for fantasy football purposes. Arguably the best pure inside runner in the league, it's no secret that Cleveland's 2018 second-round pick will once again need to offset a lack of receiving production by maintaining elite efficiency on the ground. While this is typically a profile to bet against in fake football, Chubb has been an outlier as of late. Helping his case for being a Round 1 pick this summer is a combination of the Browns having an easy schedule in terms of opposing run defenses, as well as Pro Football Focus rankings their offensive line as the best in football.
Mark Ringo
Sleepers and Busts
Chubb missed four games in 2020 and still had 1,067 yards and 12 TDS. He's one of the more underrated RBs in the NFL. Cleveland's investment in their offensive line has paid off. The Browns are a run oriented team, only Kareem Hunt's presence prevents him from being a top tier RB. Chubb is a solid pick if you want to go RB early.
Joe Pisapia
FantasyPros
After suffering an injury Week 4, Nick Chubb returned in Week 10 and rattled off 8 TDs over his final 8 games. While Kareem Hunt should handle the bulk of the receiving workload out of the backfield, Chubb is about as solid of an RB1 as you will find. If he stays on the field for 17 games, he's a lock for well over 1K yards rushing and double digit TDs.Kenyan Drake started the season in a walking boot, but once he was healthy, he had a nice second half for the Cardinals, including some great work in the red zone. Now, he's in a bizarre time share with Josh Jacobs in Las Vegas and his role is pretty undefined at this point. The Raiders backfield is the poster child for why you take clear cut RB1's early. An injury to Jacobs could open up a huge opportunity for Drake, but for now it seems like a situation where no one is set up for fantasy success.
Tim Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Nick Chubb is the best pure running back in football. I've been saying that before it was cool. The only thing holding him back from being at the Derrick Henry level of fantasy backs is Kareem Hunt in the same backfield stealing work. Even with a former all-pro in the same backfield, it is clear that Chubb is the lead dog.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Chubb had 199.7 fantasy points in just 12 games last year and he should be an elite RB1 if he is able to stay healthy in 2021.
