Lineups
The fantasy football community seems to be divided on Kenyan Drake, and I'm not sure why. The talent was never the issue in Miami - it was always the situation. In 8 games with the Cardinals last season, Drake was on pace for over 1,500 yards from scrimmage and 16 touchdowns. The touchdowns aren't sustainable, but he'll have a whole offseason to work with Kyler and get more comfortable as a key piece in Kliff Kingsbury's offense. The team invested in Drake for the long haul and I expect him to reward them with a highly productive season. When the Falcons signed Todd Gurley, the former Offensive Player of the Year, they took one one of the most worrisome injury situations in the NFL. However, Gurley is reportedly ready to go, and it feels like a massive mistake to write off the 26-year-old player who once had 40 total touchdowns in two seasons.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Drake has a multi-purpose skill set and the ability to hit home runs as a one-cut runner. He averaged more than 80 rushing yards per game and 5.2 yards per carry while scoring eight rushing touchdowns over his eight games with Arizona last season. The Falcons signed Gurley to a one-year contract less than 24 hours after he was released by the Rams. While he has regressed since ankle and knee issues began to slow him down in late 2018, Gurley did finish tied for fifth in the NFL in touchdowns in 2019.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
The Cardinals offense is incredible for running backs, with David Johnson, Chase Edmonds and Kenyan Drake all having explosive moments in 2019. With DJ gone and Chase the clear backup, it's Drake's job in 2020 so that should mean a clear-cut RB1 right? Well, maybe. Drake played five games with the Cards. He was incredible against mediocre Browns and Seahawks defense he gifted him 6 TDs but struggled in the other games, maxing out at 15 touches in each. With DeAndre Hopkins now in town, this offense seems to be transitioning towards something more pass-heavy, which is normal for a second-year coach and a sophomore QB. I like Drake, but only enough to take him in the mid-late second rounds and maybe a touch earlier in PPR.Todd Gurley sits right in the middle of the group of former fantasy studs who've moved to new teams and he arguably has the best situation. While he had an awful 2019 but he doesn't deserve the bulk of the fault. His knee issues didn't help but the biggest problems were his O-line, who blocked worse than SP15 sunscreen, and the offense that no longer ran through him like the glory years of 2017-18. Now in Atlanta, there's a good chance the former RB1 can return to his previous glory in an offense that made the questionable talent of Devonta Freeman a fantasy star. Sharing the workload is a possibility but the lack of talent behind him means he's locked into the main role and only injury can really knock him down from there. I love the upside but there is enough risk to wait until the late 3rd round before pulling the trigger.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It's crazy to see Kenyan Drake not getting the respect he deserved when he performed the way he did under Kliff Kingsbury last year. Since coming over in Week 9, he was the No. 4 running back through the remainder of the fantasy season, and the Cardinals liked him enough to move on from David Johnson and not draft a running back until the seventh round. The Rams offense was in complete disarray last year, as their offensive line started to crumble, which dragged Gurley's efficiency down the drain. He did show that he's still able to handle a big workload down the stretch, finishing with 98 touches over the final five games. Now going to the Falcons, who have one of the better offensive lines in football, with little competition, Gurley could return to RB1 status. It's a high-scoring offense where the running backs have averaged 1,383 yards and 9.7 touchdowns on the ground, while averaging another 572 yards and 4.7 touchdowns through the air over the last three years. With Ito Smith and Brian Hill the only running backs behind him, Gurley should receive most of the work/production.
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
Drake could take the leap into elite territory in 2020. Volume should be there, Kingsbury is smart. Top target in his ADP range. If he stays healthy he could produce Freeman like numbers in Atlanta. He's a bit overlooked right now, but a great RB2 pick.
Frank Bonincontri
Fantasy Wire HQ
Coach Kliff stated he wants more Drake (RB) in the offense. I want less Drake (Studio Gangster) in my ears...If that arthritic knee is not an issue, I expect Gurley to show out for the hometown in Atlanta this season. Another value pick here, when everyone else is scared off and he falls to you, might as well grab hiim!
Dalton Kates
APEX Fantasy Leagues
Balled out with AZ at the end of last year and finished top 5 during that span. AZ is an offense that benefits the RB. Only question with Drake is will he get the true workhorse role there? Lots of downside at his ADP.The only legit RB for the Falcons in what should be a dynamic offense. Touches should be there, but concerns about health are legit. Falcons reportedly already are limiting his touches and has a "noticeable limp" in training camp.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Enticing if he can finally put a full season of bell-cow work in the books as ARI RBs ranked 3rd in FAN PTS per Touch in 2019, with Drake contributing elite stretch-run numbersGiven arthritic knees, a Gurley draft pick comes with restless sleep - but new offense and workload upside ripe with the kind of upside potential he enjoyed in LA
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
Whether it was David Johnson, Chase Edmonds, or Kenyan Drake, the Arizona backfield was highly productive during the 2019 season. With Johnson now in Houston, Drake will take full control and is in prime position to finally fulfill his potential we've talked about for years.Gurley may be the most difficult running back to evaluate heading into 2020. He's on a new team, he still has the knee problems and you just never know when he'll break down. If you like high-risk/high-reward guys, Gurley is your man.
Derek Lofland

Drake was a star for the Cardinals in 2019. In just 8 games, he had 814 yards from scrimmage and 8 touchdowns. The Cardinals have signed him to a one-year deal and he should be the featured back with RB David Johnson gone. Drake is a RB1 with huge upside.Gurley will have a new lease on life in Atlanta and he did have 14 touchdowns last year, but he also averaged only 3.8 yards per carry, had very few big plays, and his arthritic condition in his knee makes him a dicey flex option.

Kenyan Drake finished as the #4 RB last season after being shipped over to Arizona. The only thing that has changed in that Arizona offense since then is that they added DEANDRE HOPKINS to clear out the box for Drake and the only RB addition was 7th round RB Eno Benjamin. Let's not forget that Drake is also playing on a prove-it deal for Arizona. All signs are pointing up.

ARZ threw to the RB 103 times last year. Assuming Edmonds gets his 20 or so like 2019, That should provide a safe floor for Drake in 2020. ARZ Kenyan Drake was a different beast: ARZ: 18.9 touches per game, 15.9PPG, 8 TDs MIA: 11.5 touches per game, 7.6PPG, 0 TDs Normally, I might be concerned about the limited sample, but the only person he didn't come in and immediately replace last year was of course not on the roster last year, 7th round pick, Eno Benjamin. His contract is interesting after 2020, in that there isn't one, so enjoy the rideNo Rams RB averaged over 3.8 a carry. Despite all the Gurley concerns, he still had 250 touches on the year, and graded equally as well in the run as the previous 2 years according to whatever PFF uses. His line play was terrible, 26th in the league. He now steps into just a favorable situation, behind a top 10 run blocking line in 2019, where his pass catching work should pop back up, even if TDs aren't quite as high, to provide another 250 touch season, and borderline RB1 potential as long as the knees allow it.

Drake should put up insane numbers this season in this offense. There are a lot of great options in the top-10 RBs right now, but Drake truly has the potential to explode this season. A top-5 finish is not out of the question.Gurley is going to be given all the touches he can handle in this Falcons offense, if he can stay healthy. If he proves that he can handle a significant workload, he'll easily outperform his ADP this season. However, there are legitimate reasons to doubt that he'll be able to withstand a heavy workload ever again, which makes him an incredibly risky pick.

Kenyan Drake is 26 years old, but only 456 career carries with a 4.8 YPC average. He was the RB3 weeks 9-16 with 20.3 ppr ppg.Atlanta is a great landing spot for Todd Gurley--he should walk right into the 17.4 touches/game that Devonta vacated. Still a 4th rounder with durability concerns. Initial Gurley projection with Atlanta is 235 carries, 965 rushing yards, 8 rushing TD, 61 targets, 340 receiving yards, 2 receiving TD.

Was the RB3 in Fantasy with the Cardinals, and now returns there with no David Johnson lingering. Offense even more explosive with Hopkins added... could rack up 15+ TDs, 1600+ total yards, and 60+ rec.Love his landing spot in ATL, especially the "rental" and "prove it" nature of the deal.
