The Falcons have been banged up the last two years including Freeman himself but don't be surprised if this offensive line surges forward this year with all the talent they have. If that happens, Freeman could explode back into the top 10 fantasy running backs as we saw in 2015, 2016 and 2017 with his fantasy points per game.Kerryon is a popular mid-round pick this year for many and while he may be talented, this offense is unlikely to produce enough points to give him much of a ceiling. What's more, is that Kerryon himself has said he isn't a three down back so his touches will be more limited than the names being drafted above him in the 4th and 5th round.

Fantasy Football Advice
If you like lengthy injury histories, then let me introduce you to Devonta Freeman! Freeman has suffered a pulled hamstring, a hip strain, an MCL sprain, a PCL sprain, a knee bruise, 3 separate concussions, a foot bruise and then finally lost most of last year due to sports hernia surgery. Aside from his terrible rookie season, he's been extremely productive whole he's been on the field. Now let's talk about his offensive coordinator. Dirk Koetter has returned as the team's OC. He had that job from 2012-2014, then he was hired as the Bucs OC in 2015, and then served as their head coach from 1016-2018. In that time here is where his teams have ranked in rushing yards per game: 27/32/24/4/25/27/28. So in other words, Freeman is a RB with a high likelihood of injury, on an offense run by a man that has no idea how to run the football. Yes, there's a ton of upside with Freeman. And if you want to target that upside in the third round, then I'm ok with it. Just know that it comes with a pretty low floor.KJ was having a great rookie season before his injury. In that time he was 11th in breakaway percentage and 13th in yards per carry after contact. He was also the best RB on the Lions roster by a mile, ranking second in yards per carry compared to teammates (Scorr Barrett). The signing of C.J. Anderson is certainly annoying...and confusing...but I have full confidence that he'll command a large portion of the work in that backfield. KJ is also an exceptional pass catcher. He registered an 82% catch percentage, generating 32 receptions in 10 games, even with Theo on the roster. This season, there are reports that Theo might not make the 53 man roster. I'm not sure if that will happen, but it speaks to the teams trust in KJ on passing downs. He comes with massive upside in an offense that wants to lean more on the run this season. I feel good about taking him anywhere in the third round. If you can get him as your RB 2, after locking up an elite RB and WR, then I'd be excited about that start to your draft.

FantasyPros
Freeman battled injuries in 2018 and he played only 2 games. He has RB1 value when healthy, but he is a huge durability risk in 2019 coming off a knee injury.Johnson showed well in 10 games, finishing the year with 641 yards rushing, 213 yards receiving and 4 touchdowns. Durability is the big concern, he will be recovering from a knee injury this off-season and he had only 118 rushing attempts. He is an upside RB2.
Kyle Yates
The Fantasy Footballers
We've seemingly forgotten about Devonta Freeman after his injury plagued 2018 season. Now, Freeman stands "alone" in that Atlanta backfield and is an incredible value in redraft leagues with his current ADP. Freeman's a solid bet for 240 carries and an increased volume in the passing game due to Tevin Coleman's absence. I'm drafting him wherever I can.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Do you remember Freeman's rookie year? Probably not, because it had him falling outside the top 35 running backs selected the following year. In that season, he totaled just 248 yards and one touchdown on 65 carries. That's significant because that's the only year he played under Dirk Koetter, who is now back in Atlanta as the coordinator. While Freeman will have a much bigger role, Koetter hasn't been able to boost a run-game during his time in Atlanta or Tampa Bay, so the ceiling has likely dropped for Freeman. And that's not to mention Ito Smith, whose role grew as the year went on in 2018.Despite having an extremely limited role to start the season, Johnson finished as the RB18 in points per game during his rookie season. The Lions did sign C.J. Anderson, but Johnson has already shown he's able to produce with a veteran on the roster, and he's openly admitted that he doesn't want to be a 20-plus touch running back. He's not going to offer top-five upside, but Johnson should be an RB2 more often than not.
