FantasyPros
Johnson showed well in 10 games, finishing the year with 641 yards rushing, 213 yards receiving and 4 touchdowns. Durability is the big concern, he will be recovering from a knee injury this off-season and he had only 118 rushing attempts. He is an upside RB2.The Eagles will be a messy timeshare situation this season, but I think Sanders ends up being the lead back by the end of the year while still not seeing more than 12-15 touches per game in a crowded backfield.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Despite having an extremely limited role to start the season, Johnson finished as the RB18 in points per game during his rookie season. The Lions did sign C.J. Anderson, but Johnson has already shown he's able to produce with a veteran on the roster, and he's openly admitted that he doesn't want to be a 20-plus-touch running back. He's not going to offer top-five upside, but Johnson should be an RB2 more often than notThere are many who believe Sanders' three-down skillset will make Doug Pederson change his ways, though you shouldn't be so sure about that. During his three years in Philadelphia, there has been just one running back who has topped 42 snaps in a game, and that was Darren Sproles, who is more of a scat-back than a traditional one. They also traded for Jordan Howard, who is likely to steal some goal-line work, as he was really good in that role with the Bears. Sanders is likely to end the year as a top-25 fantasy running back, but it'll likely be a bumpy road, similar to how it was with Jay Ajayi
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Johnson will be a stud if the Lions feed him. There's risk in believing they will, but it's worth the gamble. Is Sanders going to be the guy for Philly? It seems so. If that's the case, he needs to be owned all of the wheres.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Johnson played 10 games in his rookie season, rushing for 641 yards and three touchdowns and adding 32 receptions. Although he missed the final six games of the season with a knee injury, he should be fully recovered. The Lions added C.J. Anderson this offseason, and so those who thought that the absence of LeGarrette Blount would lead to more carries for Johnson were likely incorrect. But with the release of Theo Riddick, Johnson should see more work in the passing game. If he can keep up what he did over his final eight games, he should be an excellent option this season.Sanders really only had one college season to show what he could do, since he was behind Saquon Barkley on the depth chart in Penn State, but he showed more than enough for the Eagles to draft him with eyes on making him their starter. After battling a hamstring injury early, Sanders has looked much better as the offseason went on, and beat writers have suggested that Sanders should be the top option for Philadelphia over Jordan Howard. But Darren Sproles and plenty of other options remain for the Eagles, so Sanders will likely have to cede carries, even if he does take the top job at running back. He's a high-upside option but not one without risk.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Kerryon is a popular early-round pick this year for many and while he may be talented, this offense is unlikely to produce enough points to give him much of a ceiling. What's more, is that Kerryon himself has said he isn't a three-down back and the Lions haven't used him on third downs this preseason so make of that what you will. The Eagles re-signed Darren Sproles, acquired Jordan Howard and still have several other running backs of relevance on their depth chart. Peterson is known for splitting the workload among his running backs even when he had Jay Ajayi on the roster. If you think Sanders is going to be the exception to the rule, you will likely end up disappointed even though he is so talented.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Kerryon Johnson was pulled on 3rd down on all 3 series he played last night -- twice for C.J. Anderson and once for Ty Johnson. @SmolaDS So it looks like he may not get the vacated Riddick touches.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Darren Bevell is the new OC. Darren Bevell likes to run. The sky is the limit for Kerryon now that Riddick is gone, as long as CJA does not carve out a significant role. KJ Had at least 85 yards in 5 of his last 6 games last season and developed into a consistent RB2. Has potential to increase his TD ouput after scoring only 4 times last season and to increase his receiving totals after going 32/213 in 10 games.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Sophomore stud will head a run-centric offense under OC Bevell and should see a sharp rise in passing game work (60+ catches?) with RB Riddick out of the pic

Darrell Bevell's 12 seasons as an OC saw his offenses finish top 10 in rushing yards ten times. So Johnson should be good to go on the ground. The Lions also released Theo Riddick who saw 71 and 74 targets the last two years. Johnson's receiving pace last season was 341 and 2TDs WITH RIDDICK THERE. So Johnson should be good to go through the air. Basically, Johnson is good to go.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
KJ was having a great rookie season before his injury. In that time he was 11th in breakaway percentage and 13th in yards per carry after contact. He was also the best RB on the Lions roster by a mile, ranking second in yards per carry compared to teammates (Scorr Barrett). The signing of C.J. Anderson is certainly annoying...and confusing...but I have full confidence that he'll command a large portion of the work in that backfield. KJ is also an exceptional pass catcher. He registered an 82% catch percentage, generating 32 receptions in 10 games, even with Theo on the roster. This season, the Lions cut Theo Riddick, meaning KJ will have the third down role completely to himself. Johnson has absolutely massive upside this season, and his only path to busting is through injury. I want him on my teams.Miles Sanders is in the same boat as David Montgomery. Both are rookies that SHOULD get the majority of the work...but it's unclear if they will. Sanders is by far the best RB on the Eagles roster, and if they feature him in this offense, then he's got legitimate top 10 upside. The Eagles are more likely than the Bears to use a committee...but Sanders has the talent to produce even in a committee. This is another situation where we should have a better idea after the preseason. But as it stands right now, the upside is mouth watering.
Sean Koerner
The Action Network
I typically avoid Eagles backs like the plague. Miles has upside but his ADP is already pricing that in
