FantasyPros
Fournette was extremely frustrating, as he battled injuries, suspension, a bad attitude and inconsistent production. He's a low-end RB2 that must prove that he can be a bell cow back in Jacksonville.Cooper was a great addition to the Cowboys passing offense, but he is a little hit or miss in their run-heavy scheme. He is a low-end WR1 that should see a ton of targets in the passing game.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Everyone remembers what they last saw, which is why Fournette is dropping down draft boards. The last time fantasy owners saw him play, he totaled just 126 rushing yards and one touchdown over his last three games. What they don't know is that the Jaguars offensive line was missing 4-of-5 starters at the end of the year. Fournette is locked into 20 touches per week, which is extremely odd to find at the start of the third-round, which is where you can get him 90 percent of the timeIt was good to see Cooper go to Dallas and get consistent targets as that's something he was missing throughout his time in Oakland. He saw at least five targets in each of his nine games with the Cowboys, while seeing seven or more targets in 7-of-9 games. Because of that, he finished as the No. 4 wide receiver in fantasy from the time he joined them, behind only Antonio Brown, Davante Adams, and Julio Jones. He may not offer the consistency that those guys do, but not many do. Cooper should be on the low-end WR1 radar
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
I'm lower than the industry on Fournette by a long shot - I just don't like the history of soft tissue injuries, the punishing rush style (he too has to absorb what he dishes out) and the suspect O-line in front of himYou have to like what you saw from him in DAL - in 11 games, counting 2 playoff contests, he caught 66 passes for 896 yards and 7 TDs - dealing with heel strain, but apparently it's something he's managed to play through in the past
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Fournette's talent and role remain underrated. He needs to be more efficient, but perhaps a quarterback that isn't horrendous can help that.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Between injuries and ineffectiveness, things were trending down as last season wore on. But all the signs are there for a bounceback. Fournette dropped significant weight this offseason, and the offense should be a bit more explosive with Blake Bortles out and Nick Foles in. Fournette has been more involved in the passing game this preseason, so fantasy owners could be looking at a huge bounceback effort. That's assuming Fournette avoids injury, which has been difficult for him to do throughout his young career.Cooper was dynamic after a mid-season trade to the Cowboys and, absent injury concerns, he'd be a solid WR1 this year. But he has battled a foot injury all preseason, which has alternatively been referred to as plantar fasciitis, a strained heel, and a muscle strain. Whatever the injury is, it's clearly still bothering Cooper, and it's unclear if his availability for the Cowboys' first game is questionable. For now, fantasy owners should drop Cooper a few spots in their rankings. But don't let him slip too far absent word that his availability for the regular season is in doubt.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
In 2018, Fournette ranked 12th in fantasy points per game (15.1) and seventh in touches per game (19.4). Leonard Fournette is going to get a lot of opportunity in DeFilippo's scheme. "I'll know a little bit more after this week in terms of how many plays he gets winded and all those things in a game-like atmosphere," DeFilippo said of the third-year running back. "But I know Leonard's goals. Leonard's goal is to be the best back in this league, and unique star players play a lot of football. So, to me, he needs to play and so that's where we're at with that." Jaguars.comIn 2017, Cooper scored 52% of his fantasy points in just three games (most). In 2018, Cooper scored 52% of his fantasy points in just three games (most). @ScottBarrettDFB Cooper has been dealing with plantar fascia irritation which has caused him to miss practice and the Cowboys last two preseason games. This is something that could linger and affect practice time but should not affect meaningful games. There are ways to get players thru game day. @ProFootballDoc
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Fournette was inefficient last year but we can chalk that up to awful quarterback play and all the injuries on the offensive line. What it truly comes down to here is whether or not he can stay on the field. If he can, Fournette should lead the league in touches and would have no trouble reaching double-digit TDs on his way to a top 8 fantasy RB finish.Cooper has put up some historical numbers to start his career despite playing in an awful offense that refused to throw him the ball. It was no wonder he exploded with a new offense and better quarterback despite learning the playbook on the fly. The ceiling is enormous in his first full season with Dallas but there is also quite a bit of unknown too, particularly his plantar fasciitis.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
All about health for Fournette. He was the #4 overall pick, so the Jaguars are really trying to justify that pick. He will be fed early and often and will be well worth his ADP if he stays healthy, but assuming his health is likely a fool's errand.Yes, Coop was a stud with Prescott looking at the surface numbers, but look close and see that it was regular ol' Coop. In 9 games with the Cowboys, Cooper put up single digits 4 times, under 15 7 times, and two monster games where he put up around 35 and 45. The inconsistencies continued.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Fournette's backups - Alfred Blue, Thomas Rawls, and Benny Cunningham - aren't putting fear in anyone's heart. Health is the only concern here, as Fournette will see the volume necessary to make him a high-end RB2 when healthy. He's currently a nice value pick.Amari Cooper's career high in TD's is 7. He's passed 1100 yards once. He's passed 75 catches once. He played 9 games for Dallas and put up FOUR games in which his stat line was less than or equal to 5/36/0. And you want to take him in the third round?
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
I've never been a fan of drafting Fournette. He's an extremely inefficient running back, and one day the Jaguars are going to realize that they're better without him. He's averaged 3.7 YPC over his career. Last season he generated a pathetic 0.99 yards created per carry, ranked 49th in breakaway percentage, 49th in elusiveness rating, 53rd in yards per carry after contact, and recorded just 9 carries of greater than 10 yards, and gained fewer than 3 yards on an incredible 51% of his carries. The Jaguars would win more games this season if they cut Leonard Fournette. The issue is that they won't. Then invested a high pick on him, so they're going to use him. And despite not being a good RB, he's going to produce for fantasy while he's on the field. Oh and that's another thing. He's missed 34% of his career games due to injuries and suspensions. He's suffered a knee bruise, multiple ankle strains, a quad bruise, and two pulled hamstrings. As you can probably tell, I don't like Fournette. So it pains me so much to say that you can actually draft him. There's absolutely no talent behind him, and the Jaguars organization has given me no reason to believe they will suddenly become competent. Fournette can be taken in the second round because of the volume he's set to receive, and the fact that no one will challenge him for touchesI love Amari Cooper this season. He's finally out of Oakland, and in a place where he can see consistent volume. Dak Prescott is by no means an elite QB, but he's a big upgrade from Derek Carr. In the 9 games after being traded last season Cooper averaged 6/80/0.67. He was used in all areas of the field, and he showed his weekly upside with 2 games over 180 yards and 2 scores. He did all of this after being traded in the middle of the season. Receivers usually struggle when they change teams during an offseason, so the fact that he was able to produce right away is incredible. After a full Summer to train with the team, I expect Cooper to have some monster games this season. I'd be very excited to get Cooper in the third round. That's the point in the draft where you should have locked up two stud skill position players already. So capturing the weekly upside of Cooper on top of that is a no brainer.
