Hail to Fantasy Football
Tough to rank after landing in Tampa, but he's just inside my top-30.
Jacob Wayne
Lineups
Le'Veon Bell's first season in New York did not go according to plan as he rushed for under 800 yards and just 3 touchdowns despite playing 15 games. The offensive line hasn't really gotten markedly better this offseason and I don't expect a massive improvement in the rushing efficiency for Bell. However, he had 66 receptions last season and his heavy pass-catching involvement makes him a safe, low-end RB2.The Tampa Bay backfield is probably the most confusing in the NFL at the moment. The surprise signing of Fournette has made an already confusing situation even more cloudy as there are four players who could conceivably see a significant number of carries this season. I'm not sure if Fournette will adapt to the team's offense and Tom Brady's playing style in time to make a real impact this season, but he still has intriguing upside as a former first-round pick. I think he's a bit overrated at this point and I wouldn't reach for him just based on his name alone.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
For the majority of Bell's time in Pittsburgh, he benefited from the Steelers' offensive line consistently opening huge holes. That wasn't the case last year, as the Jets' atrocious line was unable to block effectively for Bell's blend of patience and twitch.Tampa was an ideal landing place for Fournette: There's very little talent to compete with for snaps, and the Bucs' potent passing attack gives him a high TD ceiling. Still, Fournette has done very little as a pro to warrant more than a part-time committee role.
John Hesterman
Dynasty League Football
Fournette lands in a favorable spot and should receive a steady workload with Brady and crew.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Adam Gase seems intent on taking the ball out of Bell's hands and splitting the work among his other running backs. Frank Gore and Lamical Perine are both going to eat into Bell's touches and it's going to limit his production. Bell is nothing more than a low-end RB2 in this Jets offense, despite being one of the more talented running backs in the NFL.Fournette is now a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and joins what should be a prolific offense this season. While it's going to be near impossible for him to take over this starting job in 10 days, Fournette should receive some light work throughout the first few weeks of the season. However, after a few weeks, I'm projecting Fournette to take over the majority of the work in this backfield. It should still be somewhat of a committee approach with Ronald Jones, but Fournette will have some low-end RB2 value on a weekly basis. There is a small percentage chance that Fournette eventually takes over this job completely and sends Jones to the bench, but you shouldn't let that possibility affect your drafting judgement. The most likely scenario is that he's going to split time with Jones in this backfield and we should draft him accordingly.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
After a disappointing 2019 season, Bell is in need of a major bounce-back season which could be difficult considering he's playing on the Jets offense. I don't see Bell getting too many opportunities near the goal which means he'll have to rely heavily on his receiving numbers to be worthy of his ADP.Now a member of the Buccaneers, Fournette's volume is bound to decrease from his usual workhorse role on the Jaguars. It's not all bad though considering he is joining what looks to be one of the best offenses in football. There will definitely be a timeshare between himself and Ronald Jones but I expect Fournette to be on the winning side of that split. I like him a lot more as a flex option than an RB2.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Le'Veon Bell once again proved that situation often trumps talent for running backs, as a mediocre O-line and Adam Gase led to a Derrick Henry level of volume (10 fewer touches) for 100 fewer fantasy points. Bell has massive room for improvement though, as he has no true competition (sorry La'Mical) and huge regression upside. Bell's never been a high TD guy or overly efficient but 4 yards per carry and 8 total TDs isn't an unreasonal expectation and that would mean a top 10 finish. Bump those up a little and he becomes a league winner. He's a great third round gamble you can pair with any of the riskier RBs like Fournette, Drake, Carson, CEH and Sanders.Leonard Fournette has shockingly been dropped from the Jaguars just weeks from the start of the season. It will be very difficult for him to provide meaningful value when turning up on an offense with so little time to learn it and the Buccs is an awful landing spot for all involved. With five relevant backs, Tampa Bay is a backfield worth avoiding as Fournette is unlikely to provide any reliable value. He shouldn't be dropped outside of shallow leagues but he is a fade in drafts.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Fournette signed with the Bucs after being released by the Jaguars. His contract ($2 million base, incentives based on playing time and rushing yards) suggests that he is expecting to see significant work. Still, given that he signed with the team a little more than a week before the season begins, it's going to take him time to get acclimated to the offense. Fournette can be considered a Flex play, but don't expect him to contribute immediately and, even when he does, he won't be a workhorse back given the presence of Ronald Jones.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
You're going to see Bell fall down draft boards this year, and further than he should. That's odd for me to say, as Bell was someone I was avoiding like the plague in drafts. The difference? Expectations. Playing him as your first-round pick in your RB1 slot was never something anyone should've expected, especially behind that offensive line and in Gase's offense. While he's still stuck in Gase's offense, the offensive line was upgraded quite a bit this offseason, which should allow Bell more room to work. Even if he repeated his 2019 performance, that's RB2 production. There were just 11 running backs who produced RB2 or better numbers more often than him. Sure, he didn't have a ton of weekly upside, but he was safe. Now coming off the board outside the top three rounds, Bell is a value play. The Jaguars decided to release Fournette just 10 days prior to the NFL season. Whew. The Bucs are the team who signed him, making their backfield a bit cloudier, which is problematic, because it was already cloudy. It's possible that we see Fournette share time with Ronald Jones the same way we saw with Peyton Barber. I do believe that Fournette is the most talented back on the roster, but I also felt like Jones was last year. What a mess. I wouldn't want to rely on anything more than RB3 production right out of the gate. There's top-12 upside here for sure, but it could just be a messy timeshare.

Put up a RB1-2 point total at the 13th highest rate, despite only 4 total TDs on 311 touches, and a bottom 3 run blocking unit. Only had 9 10 zone attempts, which lines up with a 31st ranked scoring offense. Will it all be that bad again?Oof. No matter what you think of Fournette, touching the ball 341 times, and only getting 3TDs is not sustainable, in a good way. I don't have a problem thinking Chris Thompson or Laviska take away a significant amount of targets, I just need the TDs to normalize to get ROI.

Bell mentioned he's in better football shape, let's hope that's true. If Gase feeds him in the passing game he will return RB2 numbers.A polarizing pick this season, his passing volume should decrease but his TD volume is bound to increase. Jacksonville won't be a top offense, so there's risk here.

*Adam GaseWow has Leonard Fournette been thrown under the fantasy bus lately. Sure the Jags are bad but he can produce for your squad. Some QB stability will go a long way too this season

Bell had workhorse touches last year, but was inefficient in a bad offense. Year 2 with the Jets should allow for improvement in that category and he should still be a massive focal point in the offense. Not much competition and Bell has proven in the past to be one of the best backs in the league. Was a true workhorse last year with 100 targets and 265 rush attempts. Concerns with new offensive weapons and scheme that may limit Fournette's receiving production. Also issues with team fit as they tried trading him this offseason and may not utilize him as a workhorse.

Volume remains elite, but it's going to take a leap of faith that improvements to the NYJ O-line and Bell's conditioning will catapult him back into the RB1 classBiggest concern is not whether he'll see positive TD regression or take a major receptions hit with C. Thompson around, it's if JAX remains committed to him if/when losses pile up

365 touches last season and only 57 evaded tackles. 90th in fantasy points per opportunity. Jay Gruden brought in his guy Chris Thompson to catch passes out of the backfield.

Bell should benefit from the Jets adding T Mekhi Becton and WR Denzel Mims in the NFL Draft. They also added RB La'Mical Perine in the 4th round and RB Frank Gore in free agency, but neither should not be a huge threat to Bell's touches this season.

Last year there were only 3 RBs to have 240+ rushing attempts and 75+ targets. I think we would be expecting some "positive" regression for Bell, especially in the TD department, but it seems that Gase is a subscriber to the "RB's don't matter" philosophy. I expect Gore, Perine or one of the journeymen the Jets have horded to cut into Bell's upside.Leonard Fournette only scored three rushing touchdowns in 2019, but they accounted for every rushing score for the Jaguars. Those three rushing touchdowns were the lowest from a team since the 2005 Cardinals. Only 13 other teams in NFL history finished with that low of a total. (@LateRoundQB) I don't completely expect Fournette to stay as healthy as he did last year, but we should see some TD regression in 2020. In 2019 he set career highs in: games played: 15, rush yards: 1152, rushing 1st downs: 52, yards per att: 4.3, targets: 100, receptions: 76, receiving yards: 522, total touches: 341, total yards: 1674... for 6-10 team (@DFFMemphis)

One of the biggest risers of this offseason. Line was a major Draft and Free Agency focus, and Mims provides some more field stretching help. Could go a long way to a Bell rebound, although Gore has a history under Gase and could carve out an annoying GL roleDespite constant trade rumors, Fournette returns as the lone viable backfield option. Don't love his fit in Jay Gruden's pass-centric attack, but just some slight positive TD regression is likely.
