FantasyPros
He's back, but this time it's probably going to be a lot less exciting. He'll be playing behind a much lesser offensive line, with a much lesser quarterback, in a much worse offense. He's going to get plenty of touches, but we can say that about a lot of running backs. The question is - what's his upside in a low-scoring offense? Adam Gase's offenses have been lacking in both overall plays and overall scoring. Did you know that Dolphins running backs scored 10 rushing touchdowns over the last two years... combined? Bell is a relatively safe pick due to the touches he'll get, but he lacks the upside you want out of a high first-round pickWhen he's on the field, you have yourself a guaranteed top-five wide receiver. While health has been an issue in the past, Jones has now played at least 14 games in five straight seasons. Outside of his rookie season and the year he needed surgery on his foot, Jones has been a top-10 receiver in all six of his other seasons. He's a safe pick at the back end of the first-round
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Bell has been a stud throughout his career, so why would he stop now? I actually like him plenty this year, but an entire year off and playing in a new system behind an inferior o-line...those could be problems.Jones is a stud and a yearly #1 threat. What more needs to be said?
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Despite sitting out a year and moving to a new team, Bell should once again be an RB-1 for fantasy purposes. Yes, there are plenty of red flags. Adam Gase's teams are notorious for running few plays, the Jets have offensive line issues, and the Dolphins never let their most talented running back, Kenyan Drake, have enough work. But Bell's certain involvement in the passing game gives him an incredibly high floor, and he should most likely give you quality fantasy production week-in and week-out. Don't expect him to put up the numbers that he did with the Steelers. But he won't have to in order to earn his draft price.Jones has as much talent as any wide receiver in the game, without question, and he averaged about 100 yards receiving per game last year. The only criticism is his lack of touchdown catches, but his production there obviously increased over the second half of the season. With Dirk Koetter on board, Jones' production could climb even higher. Expect another elite season from the big receiver, and he should be drafted as a top-five wide receiver.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
The Jets, by most metrics and observational analysis, were among worst run blocking O-lines in '18, so Bell will be facing a headwind that he rarely endured in PIT - but sheer volume, elite, versatile talent should help him return Rd 1 valueReturn of OC Dirk Koetter should be fine for Jones (Koetter-led offenses have finished Top 4 in pass att. in 4 of his past 6 seasons) - Jones led NFL with 170 targets, and is avg. 104.6 rYPG since '13
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
This is Bell's backfield and will be fed early and often. Gase also likes to move RBs to the outside now and then, which plays right into Bell's strengths.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Bell was as great of a fantasy asset as we've seen the prior five years before his holdout last season. With that said, he is moving from one of the best offensive lines and running schemes to the absolute worst of both. He will still see 300+ touches, of course, but without the Steelers offensive line, fantasy owners will likely be shocked at how inefficient Bell will be.You can say DeAndre Hopkins is the world's most talented receiver and even that his QB is a better passer than Matt Ryan, but the fact of the matter is that Hopkins has never once had as many receiving yards as Julio has averaged over the last five seasons. We know exactly who Jones is and it's a top fantasy performer every year. If they ever start throwing him the ball in the Red Zone, look out for a historic season.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Bell should see a ton of carries, but he no longer has Big Ben, Antonio Brown or one of the best offensive lines in the NFL to help his fantasy value. He is a high-end RB2 that is going to see a lot of touches, but not the efficiency he has had in past years.Jones had 113 receptions for 1,677 yards and 8 touchdowns last year. He snapped out of his TD drought last year and reestablished himself as an elite WR1.
Kyle Yates
The Fantasy Footballers
Bell now switches to the AFC East with the New York Jets and new Head Coach, Adam Gase. Gase has a tendency to run a RBBC, but has admittedly never had a talent like Bell before. This situation is murky and has me concerned. We may look back at Bell's numbers next offseason and say he performed well, but it didn't necessarily lead to consistent production week in and week out. Bell's risk is built into his ADP though and I would feel comfortable with him as my team's RB2.We've become so used to it that the fact that Julio Jones consistently puts up 1,400+ receiving yards practically goes un-talked about. This offense is going to air the ball out and Julio will be the centerpiece of it all. There's no reason to doubt Jones putting up video game like numbers again in 2019.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Bell sat out the entire 2018 season, then changed teams. That adds a bit more risk than we are used to with Le'Veon. The once consensus top 5 pick now comes with a second round ADP. I preach avoiding risk in the early rounds of the draft, which makes me hesitant in drafting Bell. Not only has he been away from football for a year, but he leaves a top 5 offense to join a team that ranked 23 in points per game and 26th in plays per game. While I do expect this offense to take a step forward this season, it's still a downgrade for fantasy. His 2nd round ADP comes with massive upside...but there are also a lot of unknowns. My current projection has his value as a late second round pick, which is probably where I'd feel comfortable taking him.Julio Jones has over 1,400 receiving yards in each of the last 5 seasons. Think about that for a second. The guy everyone wants to say is super injury prone has over 1,400 receiving yards in 5 straight seasons. He's also averaged 6.2 TD's over that stretch, which isn't elite, but it's also not as bad as people make it out to be. Since 2014 he's finished as the WR: 8/2/6/4/5. New OC Dirk Koetter loves to push the ball downfield, and that's exactly where Julio thrives. Look for Julio to finish as a top 8 WR yet again in 2019.
