Size, speed, vision, hands and, oh boy, that jump cut - 406 touches in '17 was the 3rd-highest mark in the past 11 seasons, just wish more of those touches would come inside 5-yard line (just 14 such carries over past 3 seasons)Comparisons to to L. Bell are legit, and like Bell, should see one of the heaviest workloads in the league, including a steady diet in the passing game
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Despite having a less-successful year than his 2016 campaign, Bell still finished No. 2 among fantasy running backs. His contract dispute is not going away any time soon, which moves him down under Todd Gurley due to safety. We fully expect Bell to suit-up when the lights come on in Week 1, but there's always a chance he doesn't. Another added risk is that he'll have a new offensive coordinator in 2018, though Randy Fichtner doesn't appear to be shy running a fast-paced offense. When a team selects a running back with the No. 2 overall pick in today's game, they're going to use him, a lot. Last year in Pat Shurmur's offense, then-rookie Dalvin Cook totaled 71 touches in the team's first three games before getting hurt in Week 4. His pace was 379 total touches, which would have ranked No. 2 behind only Todd Gurley. Unlike Ezekiel Elliott, Barkley won't even be the opponent's biggest fear as long as Odell Beckham Jr. is on the field. With Barkley suffering a slight hamstring strain, it's unlikely we see him for much more of the preseason.
Kevin Wheeler
NFL Mock
to all my Steeler fans, my desire always has been to retire a Steeler...both sides worked extremely hard today to make that happen, but the NFL is a hard business at times...to the fans that had hope, I'm sorry we let youu down but trust me, 2018 will be my best season to date... @LeVeonBell 400+ touches last year, regression in production is most likely scenario. Volume based ranking, and a brand new left side of the O-line should help matters for Barkley and the offense overall. Don't be surprised if we see Stewart vulture the carries from inside the 5 to start the season. Saquon Barkley tweaked his hamstring at practice, "Mild" hamstring strain. Giants will be smart with him this week and beyond.
Staff Rankings
QB List
I know a lot of people would put Todd Gurley here and I wouldn't blame them at all. But I tend to be risk-averse in fantasy, and I think some regression is coming for Gurley, which is why I'm more inclined to roll with a high-floor guy like Bell. I'm not worried about Bell sitting out training camp, he did the same thing last year and he was amazing, posting 1,315 yards and a solid 7.9% DVOA along with that. Not only that, but Bell is on the last year of his contract, and I'm betting he doesn't negotiate an extension. As a result, I bet the Steelers run him as hard as they can, and the more times Bell has the ball in his hands, the better for fantasy players.Barkley was dangerous in college, and it's why the Giants took him with the second-overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. Barkley is going to get run into the ground-while Eli Manning and the passing offense will have a place, Barkley will be the feature of the Giants' offense. Unfortunately, he's got an offensive line in front of him that was near the bottom of the league in most metrics. However, the Giants line improved this offseason, signing Nate Solder to a massive deal and drafting Will Hernandez, but they've still got Jon Halapio and Ereck Flowers to deal with on that line. I don't expect the line to be terrible, it'll be better, and even behind a mediocre offensive line, I think Barkley can succeed. And I don't expect Barkley to see a stacked box a whole ton, as the threat of Odell Beckham Jr. will keep opposing defenses from doing that (and if they do do it, they'll regret it pretty quickly).
Chet Gresham
WalterFootball
Bell's contract will be a talking point until it isn't, but he will most likely be on the field for Week 1 as a Pittsburgh Steeler, and that's a good spot for him and his fantasy prospects, as his usage numbers are tremendous and his offensive line knows how to block for him.Barkley will get all the work he can handle either rushing or receiving, which makes him fairly fantasy proof, even on a team with a bad quarterback. Eighty receptions should be the over/under for a healthy season.
Jody Smith
FantasyPros
This is likely to be Bell's last season in Pittsburgh, so expect the Steelers to give him all the touches he can handle, making Bell a candidate for the No. 1 PPR scorer of 2018. Marshall Faulk-like talent who should approach 300 touches right away. Barkley is worthy of first-round consideration in every format.
Andrew Gould
FantasyPros
The league's truest featured back, Bell played a whopping 945 snaps last season. No other rusher recorded 800. He parlayed a gargantuan 406 touches into 1,946 yards and 11 TDs in 15 games. That weighty workload puts him firmly in the No. 1-pick conversation, and he especially should not fall any lower than No. 2 in PPR formats.Think drafters are excited about Barkley? The neophyte garners a No. 7 ADP in standard and PPR formats, making him the sixth RB off the board in both settings. The Giants didn't make him the highest-drafted back since Reggie Bush to not use in a heavy all-purpose role. Adding to grand visions of superstardom, a full workload under new Giants head coach Pat Shurmur led Dalvin Cook to RB8 placement before the rookie tore his ACL. Barkley has all the makings of a transcendent star who will vie for top-pick honors during his career. The only problem? Drafters must pay for that result without baking in any risk of the unknown.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Contract talks are annoying, so I'm dropping Bell slightly, but he's still a top 5 lock as long as he doesn't sit games outBarkley is amazing and the Giants would be flat out stupid to not ride him hard right away. If they do, he has stud potential and at the worst should crack the top-10.
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Bell was given the franchise tag and he averaged 17.4 fantasy points per game last year playing under the tag. He is a duel-threat runner and receiver that can dominate fantasy games. Barkley has all the tools to be the best running back in the league, but he is not playing behind the best line or on the best offense. His physical talents alone make him a RB1 with upside.

Fantasy Football Advice
I'm ranking Barkley ahead of Antonio Brown and I actually feel good about that. Barkley is one of the best prospects we have seen in quite some time and the Giants will not hesitate to use him in the passing game as well. He weighs 10 pounds more than David Johnson and yet runs significantly faster. Look for him to get enough volume to compete for the top overall spot in his rookie season.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
The sentiment for drafting Bell first overall is fair and understandable, but he is substantially more injury prone than Gurley and finished more than 60 points behind him last fantasy season too. With that said, the difference between Bell and the #3 fantasy player may be larger than the difference between #3 and #10.While this may not have been the smartest #2 pick for an NFL team, he is a surefire top-10 fantasy player even as a rookie. The Giants improved their offensive line and are expected to offer Saquon over 350 touches as a rookie. That is a recipe for one of the best rookie seasons in fantasy football history.
