FantasyPros
Ingram should be a nice addition to the Ravens running game and he will be the lead back in the committee. It will be a crowded backfield with both RB Gus Edwards and RB Justice Hill fighting for playing time.Williams had a nice close to the season and he should have a big role in their offense in 2019. Williams is a solid RB2, but he is in a crowded backfield with RB LeSean McCoy and RB Darwin Thompson competing for touches.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Leaving the nest of the Saints' offense is something Ingram has never had to do, so life may seem a bit more difficult in Baltimore. It's a good thing that they'll be a run-first team with Lamar Jackson under center, but it's also a bad thing around the goal-line, as Jackson is more of a threat to score than Ingram. The Ravens drafted Justice Hill, and still have Kenneth Dixon and Gus Edwards on the roster, so it may be more of a timeshare than some believe, though Ingram should be the leader in the clubhouse. His lack of upside drops him below some of the other options in his rangeIt's never a bad thing to have the running back attached to Andy Reid's offense, though Williams shouldn't go inside the top few rounds due to his question marks. He's still yet to have more than 13 carries in a regular season game, so what makes us believe he's going to stand up to a full workload? The Chiefs just snagged LeSean McCoy when he was released by the Bills, making the situation even more sticky. Not to mention the performance by Darwin Thompson in the preseason. It's possible that Andy Reid moves to somewhat of a timeshare, though Williams should be the starter out of the gate.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Should we be worried about Justise Hill? Probs. But Ingram is a very solid back in a run-first offense. You won't be mad you drafted him.The committee talk has me scared of Damien, largely because his price is so steep. I still like him, but the price needs to be right. Also, get your Darwin Thompson shares no matter what you do with DW.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
My projections absolutely hate Mark Ingram this season. He's going to see very little work in the passing game, and Justice Hill is going to take some of his early down work. This is a great rushing offense though...so he's going to be very efficient on the ground. I just can't justify his current ADP. He's going to get carries and TD's vultured by multiple players, and he won't be able to make up for it with his receiving stats. There are better RB's going in his range, so target them instead.Damien Williams has as much upside as any running back in fantasy. Remember what a Chiefs RB is capable of. Hunt finished as the RB 11 in half PPR scoring last season...in just 11 games! Hunt is a good RB, but Williams is essentially a bigger, faster, and more athletic version of Hunt. He also showed last season that he can produce in this offense. Williams had 5 starts last season after Hunt was released and Ware was injured. He averaged 114 yards and 2.2 TD's in those 5 starts. That stat line would have been the #1 fantasy RB over a full season. Now, obviously those TD numbers will come down...but he's still going to be elite. Andy Reid has produced a RB 1 for fantasy in 12 of his 20 seasons as head coach. So when you tell me I'm also getting a discount on an Andy Reid RB. Then I'm all in.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Ingram has been great in the Saints offense over the last few seasons but that does not mean he will fit well in a different offense, especially as a 30-year-old. Sure, the Ravens brought in Ingram but let's not forget that Gus Edwards was terrific to close the season and the Ravens also drafted the electric Justice Hill. Ingram certainly has RB2 potential, but this is shaping up to be a three-headed monster splitting the workload.Williams entered 2018 with virtually no production to his name but exploded when given the opportunity in Andy Reid's offense. So long as he can get healthy and earn his spot as the starter, he will be a top 20 running back with room for much more. That upside will depend entirely on his large of a role he can handle, as the offense is certain to score plenty of points. There is reason, however, to be worried about Darwin Thompson.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Mark Ingram is one of my main targets this season in redraft. Justice Hill is mostly an analyst-fueled hype machine at this point and the coaches have shown little inclination to use him how most hoped. There's a good chance Ingram sees 18+ touches per game. @ConnorAllenNFLI'm assuming Williams isn't the starter over the entire season. Williams had a nice 4-game run to end the season, but was under 13 touches in two of them, he won't be the only fantasy producer in this backfield.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Whether you want to believe in Ingram or you don't, you have plenty of ammunition. Those looking to buy can point to the fact that he averaged over 4.5 yards per carry over each of the last four seasons and will now play in a Greg Roman offense that will likely lead the league in rushing attempts. Those avoiding Ingram can point to his age (29), his PED suspension, and the fact that in each of the last three years, the lead running back for the Ravens at the start of the year as lost his job. Your best bet is to go somewhere in between - buy Ingram as a likely low-end RB2, but have depth at running back if you draft him.Williams was borderline dominant once he took over the starting running back role for the Chiefs in December, and his pass-catching abilities gave him what appeared to be an enormously high floor heading into this season even with only a small sample on which to rely. But an early hamstring injury brought out rumblings of a committee approach with Carlos Hyde, Darrel Williams, and Darwin Thompson, and there are conflicting reports as to Williams' workload. Because of his upside, Williams still makes an RB2, and a strong one at that. But drafting him is not without risk, so fantasy owners should make sure they have depth at the running back position if they take Williams with an early pick.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
He's a proven, productive 3-down back that will take on a lead role for what should be one of the most run-heavy teams (again) - decent shot at 250+ touchesFit the bill nicely in KC backfield after K. Hunt suspension/release - No. 2 RB in half-PPR FAN PPG over final 3 weeks - HC Reid's comments of RB committee ring hollow given that has never been his style
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Ingram is up there in age and has never really had a backfield to himself, however there is a lot of potential in an offense that may break rush attempt records. He is in line to be the lead back and barring health, should see over 250 rush attempts. The #1 RB in an Andy Reid offense is a fantasy stud. It's science. So get the RB that is going to lead this backfield. Oh yeah, Reid also never employs an RBBC, so don't believe that either.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Lamar Jackson had around 14-20 rushes per game last season whereas whereas the Baltimore RBs COMBINED for around 20-28. That certainly leaves some room for production, but how many targets can we expect Ingram to see? With Hill, Gus the Bus, and even Dixon in the mix, Ingram will likely be more TD-dependent than expected.Damien Williams was a starter in 5 games last season. In those five games he saw at least 10 rushing attempts and at least 6 targets in every game but one. Furthermore, he scored a TD in every one of those games and actually scored 8 in total. Williams was extended by the Chiefs this offseason and only has Carlos Hyde (The worst receiving back in the NFL over the past few seasons - oh and his rushing numbers aren't very good either) and 5'8" 201lb 6th rounder Darwin Thompson. Damien Williams is not going to lose his job if healthy. Andy Reid also mentioned that he'd use an RBBC "like in Philly." If you look at Andy Reid's RBs over the last FIFTEEN seasons, he has used a RBBC one time. That was in 2009, when the Eagles were transitioning from Westbrook to McCoy. Other than that, Reid has sprinkled RBs like Ware and West in at times but that's about it. I expect this "RBBC" to be more of the same - a RBBC of sprinkles. Grab Williams at a value.
Kyle Yates
The Fantasy Footballers
Mark Ingram is a screaming value at his current ADP. The Ravens have reinforced their offensive philosophy to run the ball this offseason and Ingram is going to be at the center of it all. 220+ carries isn't out of the question for Ingram and there will be running lanes galore for him as defenses attempt to eliminate Lamar Jackson's running abilities. Ingram is the perfect RB to snag in the mid-rounds of your draft and roll out week after week.
