Lineups
There's a lot to love about Jonathan Taylor landing in Indianapolis. Taylor was historically great at Wisconsin, rushing for over 6,000 yards in three seasons and setting several rushing along the way. The Colts have put together one of the best offensive lines in the NFL and Taylor should have plenty of running room in the offense. The presence of Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines limits Taylor's upside, at least initially, but I wouldn't be shocked at all if we're talking about him as a top-five guy this time next year. He's not the guy to take if you're looking for weekly consistency, but he has the most upside out of anyone not being drafted in the first round. The arrival of rookie running back J.K. Dobbins in Baltimore has fantasy players fading Mark Ingram, and I think he's a solid value at his current draft price. Dobbins is going to need a significant amount of time to get up to speed as the starter and with the way Ingram played last season, I don't see him losing his job outright. The Ravens had one of the best rushing offenses of all time last season and Ingram is going to continue to be a huge part of it.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
The collegiate production can't be ignored, especially when considering that every opposing defense recognized and treated Taylor as the focal point of Wisconsin's offense. He's a big back with the ability to power his way through heavy traffic.Baltimore was the NFL's most run-heavy team in '19, and Ingram will again be the lead back of the team's committee. Only Carolina's Christian McCaffrey and Cincinnati's Joe Mixon had more carries inside the 5-yard line last season than the 15 Ingram logged.
John Hesterman
Dynasty League Football
Taylor is a special talent behind one of the best offensive lines in football. Frank Reich has been steadfast in his approach to this backfield with Marlon Mack and Taylor splitting the workload. Marinate on this, Mack finished with 247 carries for 1,091 yards last season. Taylor is the better back behind that same line. Once the job is his, it's lights-out on the split and Taylor is in the top-five running back conversation for 2021.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Jonathan Taylor has found himself in an excellent long-term situation but it's far more of a mess in 2020. While this offense had 560 RB touches in 2019, they were very spread and that's likely for this coming season as well. It's highly likely that Marlon Mack will be the initial starter with Taylor funnelling touches as the season progresses. That's not what you want from a player many are drafting inside the first four rounds. While there is a lot of end-of-season upside, the path there isn't at all clear, especially with a better passing offense likely leading to lower rushing volume and Nyheim Hines grabbing a pile of receptions. Taylor profiles as an eventual RB2 with excellent long-term upside.Mark Ingram was a shock fantasy stud in 2019, though he relied unsustainably on his 15 TDs. This included an incredible TD every five receptions. Now the supremely talented JK Dobbins joins the fun and it's scary for a guy that already had regression coming. That being said though, this offense had 596 rushes and Ingram had barely a third of them so there's plenty to go around. If the 41 RB receptions increase or the offense relies a little less on Lamar Jackson's designed runs, we may see an increase in Ingram's volume. While the offense's overall efficiency and Ingram's TD number will surely regress, there's still value here as a fourth round pick with RB1 upside.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It's looking like a very good possibility for Taylor to see 250-plus carries in his rookie season. Some may think that's absurd, but Marlon Mack totaled 247 carries in just 14 games last year. Even if we give Mack the 100 carries that Jordan Wilkins and Jonathan Williams combined for last year, it'd leave room for Taylor to hit the 250 mark. He's also running behind the best offensive line in football, so it wouldn't be a shock to see him rush for 1,200 yards in year one with his vision and speed in the open field. Taylor is right in the same territory as someone like Nick Chubb. Not many expecting Ingram to finish as an RB1 with Lamar Jackson under center, thinking he'd lose some of the goal-line carries to the mobile quarteback. Despite the fact that Ingram had more than 15 carries just twice all season, he finished as the No. 8 running back. We aren't banking on that happening again, especially when the Ravens drafted JK Dobbins in the second round of the NFL Draft. Ingram is going to be 31 years old this year, while Dobbins and Justice Hill have young, fresh legs. We could see Ingram lose a few carries a game, but provided he's healthy, we should still expect him to lead this timeshare and be a borderline RB2.
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
Taylor has a chance to be a Derrick Henry style RB1, but unlikely in 2020. Should produce solid RB2 numbers in Indy.Ingram will lead a top three NFL rushing attack. Dobbins is a threat to his workload, but he should have no issue producing number that keep him in your lineup every week.
Frank Bonincontri
Fantasy Wire HQ
On FREAKING Wisconsin! JT lands in the perfect scenario in Indy with an indoor team, solid offensive line and veteran quarterback. The only question is how long before he unseats Marlon Mack? Coach Reich has stated he will ride the hot hand and there is no denying Taylor if he can rise to the occasion. Why is Mark Ingram always found this far down the RB rankings? Absolute value here and in an offense that is designed around the run game, you would be a fool to pass him up when he falls to you here. I would pick up JK Dobbins as a handcuff too though...
Dalton Kates
APEX Fantasy Leagues
Phenomenal RB prospect who landed with a team that ran the ball top 5 in the NFL last year. May start off slow, but will be too good to keep off the field and could be a top 12 RB in the 2nd half of the season. Major upside. Was crazy efficient last year finishing as the RB10 in only 14 games and scoring 15 TDs. With Dobbins being drafted there is downside that he just slowly takes the job as the season winds down.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
1 of 7 RBs of 220+ pounds to run a sub-4.4 40 at the NFL Combine in past 20 years - may take awhile to overtake Mack in touches but I'll bet he gets thereSeeing him go mid-20s at RB in many drafts, which is silly - BAL offense is a juggernaut and Ingram likely to see 220+ touches and lucrative goal line work yet again

While I do see Taylor finishing the season as the RB1 in Indy, it's unlikely he gets too much work right out of the gate with there being no preseason. If you feel comfortable waiting a few weeks for him to acclimate, you could have yourself a solid RB2Once again, Mark Ingram finds himself in a crowded backfield in Baltimore after the addition of rookie JK Dobbins. That being said, with no preseason games to be played, I don't expect Dobbins to be a factor early in the season which should give Ingram an opportunity to take control fo the lead role in Baltimore. How long he holds onto it is the question.

Taylor is a tough back to evaluate heading into the fantasy season. He has tremendous skill and will be playing behind perhaps the best offensive line in football. But Marlon Mack will still factor in, especially given the lack of preseason games, which should negatively impact all rookies. And don't forget Nyheim Hines, who may steal much of the passing-down work from Taylor, especially given the latter's struggles with drops in college. There's tremendous upside, but plenty of downside that shouldn't be ignored entirely.

Taylor ended up in a fantastic situation for a rookie playing behind one of the best offensive lines in the league on a team that loves to run the football. Taylor should start as a low-end RB2 to begin the season and emerge as a high-end RB2 to low-end RB1 to close the season.Ingram had a great first year in Baltimore with 1,265 yards from scrimmage and 15 touchdowns. The addition of J.K. Dobbins has a chance to hurt his fantasy value this year, making Ingram more of a RB2.

Taylor seeing 250 carries in 2020 isn't out of the realm of possibilities. If that happens, behind this offensive line, Taylor could easily finish as a top-15 RB this season.Ingram is going to be splitting this backfield with JK Dobbins this season, but he should still be the lead back. There are plenty of fantasy points for the running backs to go around in this offense though and Ingram is a fantastic selection at his current ADP.

He finished his 3yr college career with over 6000 yards from scrimmage and had more 200 yard games than sub-100yd games. Taylor behind the Colts O-line is just going to be nuts.Ingram has a 4 million dollar salary which is very reasonable and a 5.3 million dollar cap hit if cut. Hard to see them moving on from him.

Barring a terrible landing spot, another rookie I love. Maybe a bit of a shock for now but all these rookies typically move up by draft day, I'm just saving you the sadness of watching your "value" pick creep up boards into August.Back to back years as the number 1 rushing team. 15 TDs are unlikely to repeat but all the pieces are returning on offense. Should be able to retain RB2 value for 1 more year IF he can hold off Dobbins. There's a chance the timeshare becomes more lopsided by the end of the year.

Has the talent and receiving chops to overtake a three-down role behind a Top-Five line right from the start. He probably won't, given Mack is still only 24 and fresh off 1,000 yards... but they traded up to ensure they got Taylor, and clearly have future workhorse visions.Hit incredibly hard by their selection of JK Dobbins, who might just come in and unseat him right from the start. My guess is Ingram holds onto ~60% his 2019 role, and the GL hammer in the league's top-scoring + run-heaviest offense will always have value. But his snaps could take a decent hit. Also, Ingram (who's had injury concerns in his career) will be in his 30-31 age season. Greg Roman's return helps stabilize his value
