FantasyPros
Don't forget about Ingram after the first few rounds. He stockpiled 190.5 fantasy points in 12 games after New Orleans dealt Adrian Peterson--a mark eclipsed during the whole season by just seven other rushers--so he should make plenty of noise upon returning from a four-game suspension. Two postseason duds and eight of his dozen scores occurring inside the five cast some doubt over a full-fledged repeat, but anyone comfortable in finding a September seat-holder can snag 12 games of a low-end RB1 at a low-end RB2 or flex price.Mike Davis led Seattle RBs with 68 carries last season. Hence the decision to make Penny one of eight backs drafted in the opening round since 2013. Pete Carroll has touted the importance of fixing the ground game, but Chris Carson has instead earned rave reviews in his return from a season-ending ankle injury. While Penny landed in the perfect place to make an immediate mark, a broken finger gives Carson a chance to lock down the starting spot. The gap between their draft cost needs to lessen.

PED ban on top of contract year will result in a much larger reduction in role than originally anticipated Looks like a quicker Carlos Hyde capable of handling 20+ touches a week and should be a value on draft day due to recent injury

Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Ingram is set to miss 4 games due to suspension, but he was rock solid last year and is expected to maintain the same role upon his re-entry. From the moment he comes back, you are getting an easy RB1, so if you believe you can muster a win or two without your fifth round pick over the first month then don't hesitate to get Ingram on your roster at that point. The Seahawks have been implying that they intend to run the ball over and over again. The offensive line is lousy as usual, but the offense should put up enough points that if Seattle truly has a workhorse back, he could end up in the RB1 discussion come end of the year. The issue, of course, is that Seattle has been telling people Chris Carson is that running back for now, plus Penny just had finger surgery.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
If he missed four games last season, he'd still have finished No. 13 at RB for the season, and in '15 he was No. 13 despite actually missing four games - even if you factor in some regression because the overall NO backfield production was insane, you can make a fair case for ranking him back-end top 20 at RB
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
He's suspended for the first four games of the season, sure, but getting him for 12 games will be more valuable than someone like Derrick Henry, who will be touchdown-reliant in all 16 games. It's clear that the Saints don't want to shift more of the early-down work to Alvin Kamara, as Sean Payton said they don't want to change his workload much, even during the first four weeks while Ingram is out. Ingram is also due for some positive regression in the touchdown department, as he caught 58 passes last year without a single touchdown. The league average among running backs is one every 25.6 receptions. Even with his suspension, Ingram is worthy of a top-20 running back selection. After seeing the Seahawks invest a first-round pick on Penny, we all thought he was guaranteed to start. Well, here we are, months later and there are three legitimate beat writers who say that Chris Carson is going to start for this team. While I don't think Carson winds up with more points at the end of the year, it's clear that Penny isn't going to be worth his price of admission to start the season. He's not someone you'll want to be starting until we have a clearer picture of what's going on. Update: Penny had to have surgery on his finger that will reportedly knock him out for 3-4 weeks, though they're expecting on him back by Week 1 of the regular season. It's going to be a mess of a backfield to predict at the start of the season, though we're starting to think Chris Carson has the job for now.
Kevin Wheeler
NFL Mock
4 game suspension After reaching for Penny in the first round Pete Carroll is now saying that the late seventh round, second year back, Chris Carson is first on the depth chart. While I don't believe Carson will actually maintain the starting role, if Penny is missing the first team reps in practice it will set him back to start the season. It also seems as though CJ Prosise is finally healthy and should be on the field in all passing situations. Penny's known weakness in the passing game, both receiving and protection wise, will limit his snap count. Seattle's porous offensive line, and depleted defense, will most likely keep them in negative game script. The numbers just don't add up for good opportunity. Seattle's schedule is particularly brutal the final stretch of the fantasy season. Weeks 9-16 they face far & away the NFL's most difficult SOS.
Staff Rankings
QB List
Even with the Saints using Alvin Kamara as much as they did last year, Ingram was still able to manage 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns, including seven top-10 finishes last year (one of them as number one). Unfortunately, he's got two things working against him this year-first, there's the likelihood that he's going to lose work to Kamara after his explosive season last year, and second, he's suspended for the first four games of the year. He should still have value once he returns from his suspension given the high-octane offense the Saints have and how good their offensive line is, but he's not the high-end RB2 he used to be.In any other offense, I'd say there's no doubt in my mind that Rashaad Penny will be the guy for the Seattle Seahawks, but Pete Carroll is a strange man, and he doesn't always do what you think he's going to do. Still, I'm a big fan of Penny and his skill, and I doubt the Seahawks are going to sit Penny, a first-round pick, in favor of Chris Carson, a 2017 seventh-round pick. Penny was impressive in college, rushing for 2,248 yards and leading the country with 82 forced missed tackles. That being said, those stats are a bit inflated because he was at San Diego State and didn't exactly face top defenses every week. Still, Penny has high upside, but he'll be a bit limited by the Seahawks awful offensive line who ranked dead-last in the league last year at preventing their running backs from getting stuffed at the line of scrimmage and were near the bottom in just about every other offensive line metric.
Chet Gresham
WalterFootball
Ingram will miss the first four games of the season. He should be able to return after that and put up similar numbers to last season, but if someone like Jonathan Williams comes in and plays well in his stead, it could hurt his touches afterward.Seattle has a mediocre team now, and it will be hard to project the Seahawks' top players at their personal upside. Penny, however, will be thrown into a three-down role, and as long as he can become a competent receiver, he should have plenty of opportunities to touch the ball.
Jody Smith
FantasyPros
Ingram is a proven producer and a potential championship-winning addition if his owners can survive not having him for five out of the first six weeks of the season. Chris Carson is being talked up as the potential starter, but Penny is an excellent talent who should supplant Carson. A bigger concern might be Seattle's haggard offensive line.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Ingram will miss a handful of games due to a suspension, so his season long value takes a big hit. He's still a solid pick and can return RB1 value in any given week.Penny could eventually be the guy in SEA so getting him later in drafts has him coming out as a big steal
Andrew Erickson
Gridiron Experts
Volume is king in fantasy and the Seahawks love Penny. Their o-line is bad, but we did see Carson has some productive games in the offense when giving volume. They invested in him, so we should get he first crack at all thr work at the RB position. RB1 Volume potential. Steal in the fifth/sixth round
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Ingram averaged 14.1 fantasy points per game this year. I think Ingram will lose touches to Kamara next year and he is suspended for the first four games. He probably will have only flex value for the season and RB2 value once he starts playing in Week 5.
