FantasyPros
Mack missed four of the first five games due to injuries, but still managed 908 rushing yards, 4.7 YPC and nine TDs. He is playing behind an emerging offensive line and he should be a low-end RB2 in 2019, even without QB Andrew Luck.Ingram should be a nice addition to the Ravens running game and he will be the lead back in the committee. It will be a crowded backfield with both RB Gus Edwards and RB Justice Hill fighting for playing time.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
When drafting a running back in the third- or fourth-round, it's likely they're going to be the No. 2 running back on your fantasy team, and Mack was ideal for that role, until Andrew Luck suddenly retired, putting the whole Colts offense in a different realm. Because of the downgrade to Jacoby Brissett, Mack should be considered an RB3 who does still play behind one of the top offensive lines in the league.Leaving the nest of the Saints' offense is something Ingram has never had to do, so life may seem a bit more difficult in Baltimore. It's a good thing that they'll be a run-first team with Lamar Jackson under center, but it's also a bad thing around the goal-line, as Jackson is more of a threat to score than Ingram. The Ravens drafted Justice Hill, and still have Kenneth Dixon and Gus Edwards on the roster, so it may be more of a timeshare than some believe, though Ingram should be the leader in the clubhouse. His lack of upside drops him below some of the other options in his range
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
He's in line to push 20 touches per game for what should still be a decent offenses despite loss of QB Luck - was No. 11 RB in half-PPR PPG in '18, and closed out final 5 games (inc. playoffs) with 5 TDs and avg. of 101 YFSHe's a proven, productive 3-down back that will take on a lead role for what should be one of the most run-heavy teams (again) - decent shot at 250+ touches
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Does the Andrew Luck news help or hurt him? I'm leaning in a negative fashion, but he's still a dynamic back with nice upside. I'll just be looking elsewhere for the most part.Should we be worried about Justise Hill? Probs. But Ingram is a very solid back in a run-first offense. You won't be mad you drafted him.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Now that Andrew Luck is retired, most expect Mack to be on the wrong end of negative game scripts, but the Colts have insisted that he will be on the field on third downs like he was as a rookie. If that is the case, Mack still has RB1 potential to go with a safe floor thanks to an incredible offensive line ahead of him.Ingram has been great in the Saints offense over the last few seasons but that does not mean he will fit well in a different offense, especially as a 30-year-old. Sure, the Ravens brought in Ingram but let's not forget that Gus Edwards was terrific to close the season and the Ravens also drafted the electric Justice Hill. Ingram certainly has RB2 potential, but this is shaping up to be a three-headed monster splitting the workload.
Rich Piazza
Fantasy Shed
There's no question that everybody on the Colts offense, including the running backs, are going to take some kind of a hit with the Andrew Luck retirement. Mack will get enough usage, and is talented enough, to still finish as a RB2.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Andrew Luck's sudden retirement changes the equation for Mack, but probably not as much as you'd expect. He'll still run behind an elite offensive line and excellent system. Yes, Jacoby Brissett as the quarterback marks a huge downgrade for the entire offense. But the Colts may try to lean on Mack a bit more than they otherwise would have, and he may able to make up a downgrade in efficiency with an uptick in touches. Drop Mack a few spots, but still consider him an RB2.Whether you want to believe in Ingram or you don't, you have plenty of ammunition. Those looking to buy can point to the fact that he averaged over 4.5 yards per carry over each of the last four seasons and will now play in a Greg Roman offense that will likely lead the league in rushing attempts. Those avoiding Ingram can point to his age (29), his PED suspension, and the fact that in each of the last three years, the lead running back for the Ravens at the start of the year as lost his job. Your best bet is to go somewhere in between - buy Ingram as a likely low-end RB2, but have depth at running back if you draft him.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Marlon Mack had four games with 125 or more rushing yards in the regular season or post season, tying him with Saquon Barkley and Ezekiel Elliot for tops in the league, no other running back had more than two.Mark Ingram is one of my main targets this season in redraft. Justice Hill is mostly an analyst-fueled hype machine at this point and the coaches have shown little inclination to use him how most hoped. There's a good chance Ingram sees 18+ touches per game. @ConnorAllenNFL
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
The ADP is a bit odd to me. Yes, he is on a tremendous offense and is the lead back, but he does not have a role in the passing game and will be TD dependent in games where his yardage total is not high. He is similar to Sony Michel, who I just wrote an article about (brotofantasy.com) saying not to draft. Mack had less than 40 total yards in 5 of the 11 games he played in last season and 7 of his 9 TDs came from outside of those games.Ingram is up there in age and has never really had a backfield to himself, however there is a lot of potential in an offense that may break rush attempt records. He is in line to be the lead back and barring health, should see over 250 rush attempts.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
I am not going to draft Mack at all this season. I don't understand how a guy with so many flaws is being drafted in the third/fourth round. Mack doesn't catch passes, he's not dynamic enough to break off big runs, and is entirely useless in games where the Colts are trailing. He's a TD-dependent RB2 being drafted as much more.Lamar Jackson had around 14-20 rushes per game last season whereas whereas the Baltimore RBs COMBINED for around 20-28. That certainly leaves some room for production, but how many targets can we expect Ingram to see? With Hill, Gus the Bus, and even Dixon in the mix, Ingram will likely be more TD-dependent than expected.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Mack finished last season with 4/12 games over 115 rushing yards. He's going to be the lead back in a high powered offense, so there's plenty of upside with this pick. Before you get too excited, there are still some negatives with Mack. He was 30th in yards per carry after contact, 33rd in breakaway percentage, 38th in yards created per carry, 54th in elusiveness rating and 55th in juke rate. When it comes down to it, even if Mack isn't as talented as we might think he is, opportunity matters infinitely more than talent. Mack is going to get a lot of opportunity on an elite offense. So makes him a good pick. I won't be going out of my way to target him, since Hines eats into his receiving upside. However, I'm not afraid to take him where he's going. My projections absolutely hate Mark Ingram this season. He's going to see very little work in the passing game, and Justice Hill is going to take some of his early down work. This is a great rushing offense though...so he's going to be very efficient on the ground. I just can't justify his current ADP. He's going to get carries and TD's vultured by multiple players, and he won't be able to make up for it with his receiving stats. There are better RB's going in his range, so target them instead.
Kyle Yates
The Fantasy Footballers
Mark Ingram is a screaming value at his current ADP. The Ravens have reinforced their offensive philosophy to run the ball this offseason and Ingram is going to be at the center of it all. 220+ carries isn't out of the question for Ingram and there will be running lanes galore for him as defenses attempt to eliminate Lamar Jackson's running abilities. Ingram is the perfect RB to snag in the mid-rounds of your draft and roll out week after week.
