(4600 pa yds, 31 TDs) These numbers look great, but regression is coming, the Super Bowl losing team always seems to have a poor showing the following year.
Chet Gresham
WalterFootball
Last year, Ryan threw six more touchdowns and two fewer interceptions than he ever had in his career while upping his average yards per completion to 9.26 yards, whereas his best before that was his rookie season with 7.93 yards. It's hard not to think he'll regress, but he shouldn't lose any key offensive players and again will have nice upside. Expecting his 2016 stats might be a bit too optimistic.
Staff Rankings
QB List
Matt Ryan was on a lot of winning fantasy teams in 2016. Unfortunately, the difference between his QB2 caliber 2016 season and his QB19 caliber 2015 seems to have been nearly 100% offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, who is now gone. Ryan is a safe bet to take a big step back this season.
Sablich Brothers
5th Down Fantasy
Was best deep-passer of 2016, completed 47.3 percent of 55 passes over 20 yards; repeat success depends on whether new OC Sarkasian sticks to script left by Shanahan.

Ryan may regress without Kyle Shanahan in his ear but still projects to be a top Fantasy passer. Auction Value $10
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Matt Ryan was a little better last season than in 2015 with an extra 350 yards and an improved completion percentage by 3.6%. Last year, he was the #2 QB, the year prior, #18. The only significant difference is that his TD% went from 3.4 to an absurd 7.1. Expect it to fall back toward his career 4.7% mark, especially with Kyle Shanahan gone.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Some may say this is too low, but Ryan isn't going to repeat his 7.1 percent touchdown rate, as his previous career-high was 5.2 percent. His yards per attempt was also 1.8 yards more than his previous career-high. Regression is coming for Matty Ice.
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Ryan had a monster season with 4,944 yards passing and 38 touchdowns, there is no reason that he should not have another big season. The only question is how the departure of offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan will impact this offense.
