Hail to Fantasy Football
Everyone thinks the Browns offense is taking a step up, and Kareem Hunt is missing more than half of the fantasy season. Nick Chubb should be an RB1. Up.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
I loved how Chubb closed the season and he should be in the RB1 discussion for the first part of the year. As long as he starts the season strong, he should maintain that level. The risk in drafting him in the first or second round is that RB Kareem Hunt is suspended for the first eight games. Hunt would be a necessary handcuff for Chubb if Chubb were to go down with injury or lose his starting job due to Hunt being the better player. The Vikings had a horrible run / pass ratio that they seemed to correct toward the end of the season. Cook will be a year removed from his ACL tear and he should be a low-end RB1. It will also help that RB Latavius Murray is in New Orleans and he will not be taking away as many carries from Cook this year.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Let others make the mistake of passing on Chubb. He was PFF's #2 rated RB last season, ranked first in elusiveness rating, and is on what should be an elite scoring offense this season. Chubb averaged 16.6 half ppr points per game over the final 8 weeks last season, as he displayed his TD upside with 7 TD's over that span. 18 TD's is well within his range of outcomes this season as he's the clear goal line option. Nick Chubb is already one of the best RB's in the league, and there's no way teams will be able to stack the box against him. Kareem Hunt is a good RB, but I have no concern drafting Chubb. You're going to get top 5 overall production over the first 8 weeks of the season, and while he'll see less workload when Hunt returns, he'll still be an elite option in the offense. I wouldn't hesitate for even a second in drafting Chubb this seasonDalvin Cook has played in just 15 games over his first two seasons, so durability is absolutely a concern. Sports injury predictor has him as an elevated injury risk, and I have to agree. He's suffered a shoulder tear, an ankle sprain, another shoulder tear, a torn ACL, and two pulled hamstrings. When he's been on the field he's been electric. Cook has a career 4.7 YPC, including 3 yards per carry after contact last season. He's also shown his receiving upside with 3 or more receptions in 73% of his career games. While injuries are a concern, the Vikings improved their offensive line by drafting Garrett Bradbury in the first round. He's going to help out a ton, and should make them a better run blocking unit than they were last season. Cook is going to see massive volume as long as he can stay healthy. He's certainly a risky early round pick, but he's also one that could pay off big time.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Some are worried about Chubb due to the signing of Kareem Hunt this offseason, but you shouldn't be one of them. Hunt has an eight-game suspension that will allow Chubb to run with the job, as he did down the stretch last year. The Browns invested a high second-round pick on Chubb and he's done nothing but impress. He's the starter and an RB1 in fantasy. We've still yet to see Cook stay healthy throughout an NFL season, but that's not stopping drafters from taking him with a pick inside the first two rounds. The Vikings are a high-powered offense who upgraded their offensive line this offseason, so the appeal is justified. The Vikings did draft Alexander Mattison in the third-round, so they're obviously concerned about the depth behind Cook, but he's the starter as long as he's healthy.
