Some are worried about Chubb due to the signing of Kareem Hunt this offseason, but you shouldn't be one of them. Hunt has an eight-game suspension that will allow Chubb to run with the job as he did down the stretch last year. The Browns invested a high second-round pick on Chubb and he's done nothing but impress. He's the starter and an RB1 in fantasyWhen drafting a running back in the third- or fourth-round, it's likely they're going to be the No. 2 running back on your fantasy team, and Mack was ideal for that role, until Andrew Luck suddenly retired, putting the whole Colts offense in a different realm. Because of the downgrade to Jacoby Brissett, Mack should be considered an RB3 who does still play behind one of the top offensive lines in the league.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Will any Chubb owner feel peace come Week 10 when K. Hunt is sitting on the sidelines for CLE? Not that Chubb will lose his lead role, but curbing his workload down the stretch to preserve him for a possible playoff run has logic to itHe's in line to push 20 touches per game for what should still be a decent offenses despite loss of QB Luck - was No. 11 RB in half-PPR PPG in '18, and closed out final 5 games (inc. playoffs) with 5 TDs and avg. of 101 YFS
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Chubb might be the most underrated stud rusher in all of football. Until Kareem Hunt shows up - and perhaps even after - he's going to wow us. Somehow, we can get him at a slight discount despite his mouth-watering upside.Does the Andrew Luck news help or hurt him? I'm leaning in a negative fashion, but he's still a dynamic back with nice upside. I'll just be looking elsewhere for the most part.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
While Carlos Hyde was the lead back in Cleveland, they made him a workhorse then Chubb took over and saw 18.6 carries per game over the next 9 contests. It seems clear that he will be a 20 touch per game weapon for fantasy owners this year and should find his way into the end zone more often in what will be a much improved offense. Now that Andrew Luck is retired, most expect Mack to be on the wrong end of negative game scripts, but the Colts have insisted that he will be on the field on third downs like he was as a rookie. If that is the case, Mack still has RB1 potential to go with a safe floor thanks to an incredible offensive line ahead of him.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
I loved how Chubb closed the season and he should be in the RB1 discussion in 2019. RB Kareem Hunt would be a necessary handcuff for Chubb if Chubb were to go down with injury, but Hunt is suspended the first eight games of the season.Mack missed four of the first five games due to injuries, but still managed 908 rushing yards, 4.7 YPC and nine TDs. He is playing behind an emerging offensive line and he should be a low-end RB2 in 2019, even without QB Andrew Luck.
Rich Piazza
Fantasy Shed
There's no question that everybody on the Colts offense, including the running backs, are going to take some kind of a hit with the Andrew Luck retirement. Mack will get enough usage, and is talented enough, to still finish as a RB2.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Chubb essentially averaged 20 touches and 100 yards per game once he took over as the starting running back last year, and there's little reason to expect a dip in his performance, at least for the first half of the season. With Duke Johnson now in Texas, Chubb should dominate the running back touches early on, and with Odell Beckham Jr. on board, defenses will need to focus on stopping the pass more. The issue becomes what happens to Chubb in the second half once Kareem Hunt returns from suspension. But for now, that's a lifetime away. Draft Chubb with confidence as an RB1.Andrew Luck's sudden retirement changes the equation for Mack, but probably not as much as you'd expect. He'll still run behind an elite offensive line and excellent system. Yes, Jacoby Brissett as the quarterback marks a huge downgrade for the entire offense. But the Colts may try to lean on Mack a bit more than they otherwise would have, and he may able to make up a downgrade in efficiency with an uptick in touches. Drop Mack a few spots, but still consider him an RB2.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
From Week 8 on last year, Nick Chubb averaged nearly 17 PPR Points per game, making him the RB6 during that time. The Browns should be near the goaline often and Chubb is the guy to punch them in. With Duke gone Chubb is looking at being a true bell-cow for the first eight games, and regardless of Hunt entering the picture he will have the bulk of the workload in his favor through the remainder of the season.Marlon Mack had four games with 125 or more rushing yards in the regular season or post season, tying him with Saquon Barkley and Ezekiel Elliot for tops in the league, no other running back had more than two.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Nick Chubb was an absolute animal his rookie season. He was the #1 ranked RB on PFF and had the highest elusive rating in the league. He is on a great offense, and with Duke gone, should have a larger role in the passing game. The ADP is a bit odd to me. Yes, he is on a tremendous offense and is the lead back, but he does not have a role in the passing game and will be TD dependent in games where his yardage total is not high. He is similar to Sony Michel, who I just wrote an article about (brotofantasy.com) saying not to draft. Mack had less than 40 total yards in 5 of the 11 games he played in last season and 7 of his 9 TDs came from outside of those games.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
He was a top ranked runner, according to PFF, in multiple different metrics. Most notably, he was the #2 overall RB. The only gripe against Chubb was that he didn't catch passes, but that can certainly change. Duke Johnson is out of Cleveland (not that he was really gonna have a role), Mayfield checked down to RBs almost his entire first preseason drive (grain of salt), and he did have at least 3 catches in four of his last 7 games. Kareem Hunt is also not a concern to me as, after his suspension and the bye, he won't be back until week 10. By then, Chubb will have impressed enough to maintain his role.I am not going to draft Mack at all this season. I don't understand how a guy with so many flaws is being drafted in the third/fourth round. Mack doesn't catch passes, he's not dynamic enough to break off big runs, and is entirely useless in games where the Colts are trailing. He's a TD-dependent RB2 being drafted as much more.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Let others make the mistake of passing on Chubb. He was PFF's #2 rated RB last season, ranked first in elusiveness rating, and is on what should be an elite scoring offense this season. Chubb averaged 16.6 half ppr points per game over the final 8 weeks last season, as he displayed his TD upside with 7 TD's over that span. 18 TD's is well within his range of outcomes this season as he's the clear goal line option. Nick Chubb is already one of the best RB's in the league, and there's no way teams will be able to stack the box against him. Kareem Hunt is a good RB, but I have no concern drafting Chubb. You're going to get top 5 overall production over the first 8 weeks of the season, and while he'll see less workload when Hunt returns, he'll still be an elite option in the offense. I wouldn't hesitate for even a second in drafting Chubb this seasonMack finished last season with 4/12 games over 115 rushing yards. He's going to be the lead back in a high powered offense, so there's plenty of upside with this pick. Before you get too excited, there are still some negatives with Mack. He was 30th in yards per carry after contact, 33rd in breakaway percentage, 38th in yards created per carry, 54th in elusiveness rating and 55th in juke rate. When it comes down to it, even if Mack isn't as talented as we might think he is, opportunity matters infinitely more than talent. Mack is going to get a lot of opportunity on an elite offense. So makes him a good pick. I won't be going out of my way to target him, since Hines eats into his receiving upside. However, I'm not afraid to take him where he's going.
