Did you know that there are only two RBs in the entire NFL since 2018 that have more than 3,000 rushing yards, have averaged more than 5 YPC, and have more than 12 rushing touchdowns? Derrick Henry and Chubb are the entire list. Chubb has 3,557 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns during that time frame while averaging an absurd 5.23 YPC. As far as pure running ability, Chubb might be the best back in the entire NFL. His vision, contact balance, and power are on display with every single run and he's put up ridiculous efficiency metrics through his first few seasons in the league. He should see a significant workload again in 2021, but his lack of involvement in the receiving game prevents him from being vaulted into a top-3 option at the position. Just like Henry in Tennessee, he'll be one of the most reliable and consistent RB options out there, but his upside is capped due to his lack of targets. He'll still a worthy investment in the top-10 at the position, but just keep in mind that he's going to have to score an ungodly amount of touchdowns to vault over some of the other top candidates at the position. From a talent perspective, Saquon Barkley is the best RB in the NFL when he's on the field. Unfortunately, the issue has been staying on the field the past two seasons. Barkley has played 15 out of a possible 32 games, which makes him a very risky investment at the top of your draft. For fantasy managers to have a shot of competing deep into their playoffs, they need their top draft pick to pull their weight all season long. Earlier on in the off-season, Barkley was being drafted as a top-3 option. He's fallen a little bit in ADP, which is more in line with where he should be going. As a late first-round draft pick, the risk is worth the reward. Anything more than that and you're playing with fire.

Sleepers and Busts
Chubb missed four games in 2020 and still had 1,067 yards and 12 TDS. He's one of the more underrated RBs in the NFL. Cleveland's investment in their offensive line has paid off. The Browns are a run oriented team, only Kareem Hunt's presence prevents him from being a top tier RB. Chubb is a solid pick if you want to go RB early.Saquon's coming off a devastating knee injury. The Giants might ease him back by limiting his touches. Even if they don't, Barkley's running style, which involves plenty of quick stops and starts isn't ideal for an ACL injury. Can he be the same RB? Will he have the same burst of acceleration that made him special? Can he stay healthy? And I speak from personal experience having torn my ACL, albeit 24 years ago. The Giants line isn't very good and the book is still out on QB Daniel Jones. Saquon is too risky in 2021 for me as an early round pick. Note- I heard a prominent fantasy analyst mention on a podcast that Wayne Gallman is Barkley's backup. She was incorrect. Gallman isn't even on the Giants anymore. The backup looks like it's going to be Devontae Booker. With regards to Saquon, let someone else take the chance. Pass

Like Henry, he's most valuable in STD scoring, but there's very few (if any) who can tote the rock with the kind of power/speed/agility that he brings to the tableACL recovery has him on track to play Week 1, though he'll likely be limited - it could take a couple weeks, but should eventually return to heavily featured role

Despite playing in only 12 games, Chubb still ran for 1,000 yards and 12 rushing TDs. He averaged 88.3 rush yards per game, which put him on pace for a second straight 1,400-yard season had he played all 16 games. He's been uber efficient in his career, averaging better than 5.0 yards per carry in every one of his three seasons. Cleveland has an elite offensive line and made it to the playoffs behind a sound run game last season. The case against Chubb is his lack of involvement as a receiver, but he was the RB9 in 2020 despite hauling in on 16 passes. It's hard to envision Barkley returning to form as a top-5 fantasy RB, especially since targets may be scarce. New York's receiving corps is crowded, and while Barkley won't fall off the map entirely, a major selling point on top-5 upside is his ability and volume as a receiver. With that volume in question, I'm a little lower on him than consensus.

Based on the actual opportunity Chubb got in 2020, he should've finished as the RB24 in half PPR formats. Instead, Chubb scored 54.5 more fantasy points than the average running back would've and finished as the RB9 despite playing in just 12 games. The new offense proved to be very beneficial to the run game, though Kareem Hunt's presence does limit Chubb's true ceiling, which should be top-five, but unless he starts to get more targets, he'll remain in the mid-to-low-end RB1 range. After setting the fantasy world on fire his rookie season with over 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 15 touchdowns, Barkley hasn't exactly lived up to expectations producing 1,535 total yards and eight touchdowns over 15 games the last two seasons. He tore his ACL early in the season, which should give him plenty of time to bounce back, though his violent running style could take a bit longer in recovery, and he only returned to practice in late-August. The Giants suddenly have more weapons than ever in the passing game, so Barkley is unlikely to come close to the 121 targets he saw in 2018, though he should have more scoring opportunities. There is some risk with Barkley at the top of drafts due to his knee, but when on the field, we know he'll produce.

Back at practice, Week 1 remains realistic. Only back w/ the upside to challenge CMac

Entering his fourth season in the NFL, Nick Chubb is becoming a known commodity for fantasy football purposes. Arguably the best pure inside runner in the league, it's no secret that Cleveland's 2018 second-round pick will once again need to offset a lack of receiving production by maintaining elite efficiency on the ground. While this is typically a profile to bet against in fake football, Chubb has been an outlier as of late. Helping his case for being a Round 1 pick this summer is a combination of the Browns having an easy schedule in terms of opposing run defenses, as well as Pro Football Focus rankings their offensive line as the best in football. The good news is that by the time Week 1 rolls around, Saquon Barkley will have had a full calendar year to recover from his ACL/MCL/meniscus injury that he suffered last September. This is the fantastic as fantasy football is more fun when Barkley is healthy. The bad news? It truly sounds as if the Giants want to limit his workload early on this year, and it's tough to blame them considering Barkley is their franchise player at the moment. I'm also a tad concerned with his ultimate PPR ceiling, as Saquon benefited immensely from Eli "dumpoff" Manning back in 2018. He's still an unquestioned three-down bell cow, but I just don't expect that type of insane usage in the passing game again. Still, f antasy managers should expect Barkley's workload -- and therefore his fantasy value -- to increase as the season moves along.

Nick Chubb was the only other RB to crack the top-ten RB's in .5 scoring (aside from Alvin Kamra) with less than 200 carries. And Chubb did so without the receptions. He is the only RB to finish with over 1,000 rushing yards on less than 200 carries, showing he is an elite ball carrier. In standard scoring and .5 formats, he should remain a top-tier option at a slight discount.

After suffering an injury Week 4, Nick Chubb returned in Week 10 and rattled off 8 TDs over his final 8 games. While Kareem Hunt should handle the bulk of the receiving workload out of the backfield, Chubb is about as solid of an RB1 as you will find. If he stays on the field for 17 games, he's a lock for well over 1K yards rushing and double digit TDs.

Nick Chubb is the best pure running back in football. I've been saying that before it was cool. The only thing holding him back from being at the Derrick Henry level of fantasy backs is Kareem Hunt in the same backfield stealing work. Even with a former all-pro in the same backfield, it is clear that Chubb is the lead dog.Over the last two seasons, Barkley played a total of 15 games combined. The risk of injury is just too great right now for me to take him over some proven guys who stay on the field, even if he is the most talented back in the NFL.

Will injuries take their toll? Saquon is a great pick for re-draft, but scares me in bestball.

Chubb had 199.7 fantasy points in just 12 games last year and he should be an elite RB1 if he is able to stay healthy in 2021.Injuries capped Barkley's 2019 season and completely derailed his 2020 season as he played only two games. I love Barkley's ability, but he needs to stay healthy if he is going to realize his unlimited potential.
