FantasyPros
When Chase was selected at No. 5 overall, everyone seemed to downgrade Higgins significantly and move him down draft boards. However, we shouldn't overreact and completely move off of Higgins. After sitting down and working through projections, you'll see that there's more than enough volume available for both of these players to be top-24 WRs as early as this season. Higgins might take a back seat to Chase from a targets perspective, but Higgins should also be Burrow's favorite target in the red zone due to his size. If people are scared off of Higgins because of Chase's presence in this offense, that's all the opportunity you need to buy Higgins at a discount this year. It's true, the injury history is adding up for OBJ and making it more and more difficult to select him in fantasy drafts each season. With that being said, he's now coming at enough of a discount that it's not going to significantly damage your team if Beckham misses time yet again. The upside is still there for someone of Beckham's talent and he has the potential to be a very reliable asset for your lineup in 2021. Due to the offensive philosophy, we're probably never going to see OBJ max out with 12+ targets in a single game, but he's simply too talented to not return value on where he's being drafted if he stays healthy. Adding OBJ as your WR2 or WR3 if you load up on RBs early in your draft is a great strategy this year.

Sleepers and Busts
Higgins stock took a hit on draft day when the Bengals took JaMarr Chase in the 1st round. Chase will take away targets, but he could also take away coverage making life easier for Higgins. Even with less targets, Joe Burrow looks like the next elite NFL QB. Higgins and Burrow developed a good rapport last year. That chemistry should only get better in 2021. There's no I in team, but there's a T and an E. I'm diggin' me some Higgins in 2021. Tee it high and let it fly on draft day!Odell Beckham is one of my favorite players. That three finger catch he made against Dallas on Sunday Night Football saved my bacon and got me into the playoffs. The concerns, and they are big ones, are 1.) Beckham is coming off a torn ACL. He hurt it late Oct 2020 and had surgery in early Nov. Those usually take two years for players to feel normal. The stopping and starting for WRs is even tougher to come back from than say for a QB. He could reinjure it if he comes back too soon. He also might lack the confidence it holds up and not play like his old self. 2.) The Browns are a run oriented team. Even if he was 100% healthy coming into the season his targets will be more limited than if he were on a passing team. For those reasons I'm down on Beckham in 2021 even though he's one of the most talented WRs in the NFL.

In Cleveland, OBJ has failed to come close to the huge numbers he posted in his first three seasons with the Giants. Still, he hasn't been as bad as many believe. In his first two seasons with the Browns, Beckham Jr. went for at least 74/1,000 before missing nine games in 2020. As long as he plays the whole season, I can't rank him lower than WR24. There's just too much talent.

Higgins had a very successful year with 161.6 fantasy points in 16 games and he should have a ton of upside playing with Joe Burrow in 2021. Ja'Marr Chase may take away some targets from him later in the year, but Chase has struggled in the preseason, which makes Higgins more likely to be the top Bengals wide receiver this year.OBJ is on track to be back with the Browns in Week 1 coming off an ACL injury. He is a WR3 that will have a few big games on one of the more run oriented offenses in the NFL.

Not long ago, Odell Beckham Jr. was a top-5 fantasy WR and yes, while his injury history is concerning, there's simply no way a healthy OBJ doesn't return value on his current WR-27 ADP. In terms of his health, he managed to avoid the PUP list and reports are he's feeling great. As for his role on the field, the days of OBJ consistently seeing over 10 targets a game are over, but with his talent, he doesn't need that to produce - this offense is going to be run-oriented while mixing in deep shots to keep the defense from stacking the box - who do you think those deep balls are going to? Odell is a great pick after loading up on RB's early as a WR2 or WR3 with far more upside than his peers and someone I'm targeting in all my leagues.

Higgins joined the starting lineup in Week 3 and played with Joe Burrow through Week 10 in seven full games. He was the WR11 during that time, so a WR1 despite A.J. Green getting tons of work and Tyler Boyd being a big presence. It was a phenomenal start to Higgins' career, and while I loved him as a low-end WR1/high-end WR2 this year, the pick of Ja'Marr Chase at No. 5 overall derailed that excitement. Chase is going to walk in and demand a large chunk of targets right away, as Burrow told the front office that he wanted Chase over Penei Sewell, the stud left tackle. This doesn't mean Higgins is going to go away - he won't. However, it does limit his target ceiling and lowers expectations. He should be valued as a low-end WR2/high-end WR3 with Chase in the picture.Let's do an exercise... How many targets per game do you anticipate Beckham getting this year? I'm going with an extremely low number and say he averages 6.5 targets per game. That sounds more than reasonable, right? Beckham had 7.0 targets per game during the 2020 season before getting hurt and that includes a three-target game against the Steelers. The Browns were also throwing the ball a lot less early in the year as Baker Mayfield was still getting grasp on Kevin Stefanski's playbook. If Beckham gets 6.5 targets per game, that'd put him on pace for 104 targets, which again, is what I'd consider low. There were just 32 receivers in the NFL who hit that number last year, with 24 of them (75 percent) finishing as top-24 receivers and just two finishing worse than WR38. You mean to tell me with Beckham's talent, he can't produce top-24 numbers? There's health risks for sure, but there's also top-five wide receiver upside.

The Draft Zone
In 14 healthy games last season, as a rookie, Higgins averaged 11.5 half-PPR PPG - 26th among WRs. In 10 games with Burrow, he averaged 12.1 which was 20th among WRs. The year 2 jump for WRs is well-chronicled, he's getting rave reviews this offseason and has a strong prospect profile. @JackMiller02

Higgins had a fine rookie season and looked to be on the verge of stardom before Joe Burrow's season-ending injury, averaging 13.5 half-PPR points per game just 9.3 after Burrow's injury). What looked like a likely second-year breakout campaign may be somewhat delayed by the Bengals drafting Ja'Marr Chase, but it would be a mistake to fade Higgins this year. Burrow is more than talented enough to support three wide receivers for fantasy, and the Bengals have no problem letting him air it out. With Burrow under center, the Bengals passed the ball on 62% of their offensive plays, fourth most in the NFL (with the Ryan Finley/Brandon Allen combination, that dropped to just 53%). Both Higgins and Chase should be able to produce as borderline WR2s so long as Burrow is healthy, so monitor his reports in camp. If he's a full go, so, too, is Higgins. Here were my points against Beckham last year as a top 15-WR: he had finished as the WR83, WR16, and WR26 in the previous three seasons, the Vikings ran the ball 48% of the time under Kevin Stefanski (fourth most in the NFL) and so he'd never approach his customary 10 targets per game, and he's an injury risk. Well, the Browns ran the ball 48% of the time last year (fourth most in the NFL), Beckham received seven targets per game, and he lost much of the season due to injury. All the concerns over Beckham hold true this year except for his price, which is now as the 25th WR in half-PPR ADP. Beckham will certainly have some boom games and the Browns' offense should improve this year in Stefanski's second year, but the lack of target volume is going to put a ceiling on Beckham's value. Fantasy managers are drafting him as a borderline WR2 - that's exactly what he is.
