FantasyPros
Lindsey concerns me with a new coaching staff, a new quarterback, and RB Royce Freeman behind him on the depth chart. He is a risky RB2 with both upside coming off a solid rookie season and uncertainty with Freeman likely to carve out a bigger role this year.Engram really struggled early in the year when QB Eli Manning was not playing well. If they can find an effective quarterback in the NFL Draft, Engram has huge bounce-back potential.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It's pretty rare to see a running back who finished top 12 his rookie season despite missing a game fall down draft boards the following year, especially when the team didn't add another running back. That's precisely the case with Lindsay, who will share some touches with Royce Freeman, but Lindsay has proven to be much more capable in the pass-game than Freeman, which gives him the nod as the starter. While there is some built-in risk, it's not enough to knock Lindsay out of solid RB2 territoryRemember when Engram finished his rookie season as the No. 5 tight end? Well, he did that because the volume was there. He saw 115 targets that season because of the injuries to Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall. Those guys are both gone, and while Sterling Shepard and Golden Tate remain, those guys aren't going to see the target share of Beckham. Not only did Engram's target-share dip last year, but he also dealt with some injuries, leading him to finish outside the top-10 in his sophomore season. The expectation should be that he'll see 100-plus targets in 2019, which is something only 4-5 tight ends can say
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Lindsay was fantastic as a rookie, but Royce Freeman deserves the ball more. He's a great RB2 or Flex, but I won't be forcing the issue.Engram is a great athlete with red-zone chops. If Eli Manning wasn't under center I might have him 4th.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Lindsay, an undrafted rookie, had a shocking breakout for the Broncos last year, totaling 1,278 yards and 10 touchdowns. He sustained a wrist injury late last year, needed surgery, and spent much of the offseason rehabbing. Despite his production, the Broncos seem intent on allowing Royce Freeman to split carries with Lindsay, and their signing of Theo Riddick (even though he is now injured) shows that they really want to spread the ball around in the backfield. Don't in any way forget about Lindsay on draft day as an RB2. But don't draft him expecting last year's numbers.Engram played only 11 games last season, but had solid if unspectacular production when he was on the field. Engram's numbers have been substantially better whenever a Giants' wide receiver misses time, and considering that Odell Beckham Jr. is gone, Golden Tate is suspended, and Sterling Shepard is dealing with a thumb injury, Engram offers plenty of value, particularly early in the season. His upside may be capped by Eli Manning (unless or until he is replaced by Daniel Jones), but he still makes one of the best options after the top tier of tight ends is off the board.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Extremely small sample, but Lindsay lined up from the slot + out wide on 2-of-8 'Flacco' snaps - a glimpse of what we've heard on his usage out of camp all offseason. @NotJDaigle
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Lindsay had over 1000 rushing yards, over 200 receiving yards and over 10 TDs last season. Despite that performance, he is now being disrespected and is expected to split carries. I still like Lindsay and expect him to get the lion's share of the touches. Solid pick at ADP.Seemingly has a bunch of upside because he should see easily 100 targets, but Eli is throwing him the ball, which also limits his upside. Solid choice if you miss out on the big three TEs but you have to spend a high pick on him and he also has injury history.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Booker saw 30% of the Broncos snaps last season. With that usage likely out of the window now, there's room for Lindsay to be very good even with the involvement of Royce Freeman. Things were looking up for Lindsay when his OC referred to him and Freeman as Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman, but now his ceiling is capped with the signing of the pass-catching specialist Theo Riddick.Engram saw 125 targets and put up a 64/722/6 line in his ROOKIE season. Remarkable when considering how much rookie TEs struggle. Of course it helps that he saw 125 targets, but if he can put up those numbers as a rookie, he can certainly improve in his third season on a team devoid of weapons. Last season when OBJ was out, Engram averaged 5.5/80/0.33.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Royce Freeman is plenty talented behind Lindsay so it would be fair to worry about that, but try to remember just how great Lindsay was last season. If he is healthy, he will play, even in a new scheme. Whether that means being more involved in the passing game or not, you can rely on Lindsay to produce again if he is on the field.Engram was injured for part of the season, but when he was healthy, he was solid once again, ranking 7th among all tight ends with 9.4 half-PPR points per game. The draw in Engram, of course, is the fact that Odell Beckham left in free agency, and while he has always been great, Golden Tate fills in and is also a target hog. When Engram had so many targets two years ago, Roger Lewis, was the #2 wideout so it is a much different scenario now than it was then.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
I have my concerns with Lindsay. I think he's a good RB, but the Broncos aren't going to very good this season, and Freeman isn't going anywhere. He was great last season, but he was only given over 15 carries in three games, and his TD rate is likely to regress from 9 on under 200 carries. He's also likely to see a few less carries, assuming Freeman can remain healthy this season. Lindsay can absolutely pay off his ADP, and I do like him in that late 4th/early 5th round range...but he's rarely still on the board at that point. With Odell being traded to the Browns, Engram once again finds himself as the top option in the passing game. He'll still need to compete with Shepard, Tate, Saquon...and...maybe...Corey Coleman for targets, but he's going to get all he can handle. He's also going to be used heavily in the red zone. Engram has averaged just under one red zone target per game in his two year career, but that should go up in 2019. Not only his it his third season (the general breakout season for TE's), but aside from Saquon, he's the only real red zone threat they have. Tate has never been a red zone guy, and while Shepard was given a lot of targets inside the 5 last season, we shouldn't expect him to see many while Engram is healthy. Ingram is one of the few receivers with 80/1000/10 upside.
