Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Despite Marcus Mariota getting hurt in 2016 and struggling through much of 2017, Matthews remained consistent in his production, hauling in 61 percent of his passes for 14.5 and 15.0 yards per reception in each year. The area his production dipped, though, was targets and touchdowns. With Corey Davis slated for a bigger role in 2018, you should expect that decline to continue, though Matthews won't go away, as he's been extremely efficient with his targets. He's comparable to the Titans version of DeSean Jackson. It's possible that Doctson moves up my draft board as the season nears, as I want to see how he and new quarterback Alex Smith gel in the preseason. Smith has traditionally been a quarterback who doesn't throw into tight coverage, and Doctson was among the worst in the league last year when it came to yards of separation at target. He was followed by some top-tier cornerbacks last year, so it's possible that will influence the numbers, but Smith's style seems to fit Jamison Crowder's and Jordan Reed's skill-set a bit more than Doctson's. He's got some potential, but the situation just doesn't seem to be ideal.

QB List
On our sister site Pitcherlist.com, we have a nickname for a pitcher that comes up to the majors and is wholly unspectacular: A Cup of Schmo. If ever there was such a thing in the NFL, it would be Rishard Matthews. Playing within a run-first Tennessee offense, Matthews is consistently ok, never extraordinary, and my bet is he will continue to do so even with an improved Mariota. Have fun!Looking to make the "sophomore jump", the athletically gifted 2nd year receiver must now compete with Paul Richardson for red zone and downfield targets while Jamison Crowder mans the slot. He COULD establish a large role with peak performance in the red zone, but with the pricey new signing occupying a similar role, I wouldn't bet on anything more than mediocre production.

Matthews is a solid fantasy player who often gets overlooked. He's still the No. 1 receiver and should be able to hold that designation another season even if Corey Davis shows improvement.Doctson has plenty of talent and will be given his chances to succeed. I'd like to see some of that success before going all-in on him, but if he falls, we know he'll get his targets.
Andrew Gould
FantasyPros
Matthews never gets the attention he deserves despite averaging 6.5 targets and 58 yards per game in two seasons with the Titans. He solidified a WR37 season despite missing two games and posting four TDs after 2016's career-high nine. His WR52 ADP, while rising, oddly projects a steeper decline as drafters ogle hotshot teammate Corey Davis. Among the league leaders in average cushion (seven yards), he remains Marcus Mariota's steadiest downfield threat. Before pointing to a limited ceiling, he was the WR14 in 2016. He's the perfect late pick to complement an earlier upside gamble like Davis, but keep tabs on an injury that has sent him to the PUP list. While Doctson compiled 502 yards in an underwhelming sophomore campaign, he received 56 of last season's 78 targets over Washington's final eight games. He also reeled in just 35 of those looks and now must establish a rapport with Alex Smith. Yet drafters can do worse in terms of a dart throw. The hype (WR57 ADP) had dissipated, and few pass-catchers who led his team in red-zone targets (16) are available so late.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Matthews will likely going to take a step back this season with the expected emergence of Corey Davis and the arrival of DIon Lewis. With that said, he was a top 36 receiver each of the past two seasons so it isn't like he will drop all the way out of fantasy relevance suddenly. We didn't get the best numbers from Doctson, so it makes sense why many will be avoiding him, but do consider that he is the Redskins' top receiver, and that is exactly why defenses focused on locking him down with their shadow corners. He had the single toughest set of matchups last season and as that lets up, we should see plenty of production.

Will have to compete with Richardson and Crowder for targets but will benefit from improved quarterback play
