Pack to the Future
Calvin Ridley is quietly becoming one of the league's best young breakout WRs. Even while playing second fiddle to Julio Jones, Ridley totaled 833 yards and 7 TDs last year and that was in only 13 games. The Falcons offense is always high-flying and I'd want to get as many pieces of that offense as possible, Ridley very much included.Robert Woods is the definition of consistency. Week in and week out you know what you're getting from Woods and fantasy football that's an incredibly valuable trait. He may not have WR1 upside, but you won't find a better WR2.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Woods is the most underappreciated WR year in and year out. He is the Rams WR1.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Prior to getting hurt and having his season cut short, Ridley was on pace for 1,066 yards and eight touchdowns in 2019, which would have had him as the WR14. Now going into his third NFL season, there's a real chance for a breakout, though Julio Jones isn't going away any time soon. If you want to know if there's room for both to be WR1s, look no further than the Bucs last year with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, though it's rare for that to happen. Still, Ridley is an ascending talent and the Falcons didn't add a receiver of significance to replace Mohamed Sanu.Despite scoring just two touchdowns last year, Woods was able to finish as the No. 17 wide receiver. Why do we continually doubt that his production will continue? Under Sean McVay, he's been a WR2 or better in 21-of-43 games, which is the same as Tyreek Hill. He may not have the upside that Hill does, but as a WR2 on your team, he's gold.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
There is a pretty big disconnect between what the average fantasy football player thinks about Woods and what the expert consensus thinks about him, with the latter being significantly higher. Woods scored just three touchdowns last year but there is bound to be positive regression, and he's seen at least 130 targets in each of the last two years. With Brandin Cooks gone, and with how Woods came on toward the second half of the season, he's much closer to a WR1 than fantasy managers are giving him credit for.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
WR 29 in PPG his rookie season and WR 17 in PPG last season. The arrow is pointing up for Ridley and he has a very safe floor. He won't have the overall WR1 upside that those around him like Evans and AJ Brown have, but he also has less questions.Woods is the most underrated WR1 in the league this offseason. He's basically guaranteed to go at least 85/1100/5, has more upside than that with the departure of Cooks, never steps off the field no matter what personnel the Rams decide to use (the same can not be said for Kupp), and will likely score more TDs this season as Jared Goff had SEVEN different passing plays end up at the one-yard line last season. I will have Woods on all of my teams at his current ADP.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
There may not be more of a value in all of fantasy football ADP right now than Ridley. He's connected to one of the best offenses in the NFL and he's essentially a lock to see over 115 targets if he plays all 16 games. At his current ADP, Ridley's a home run selection and has the potential of finishing the season as a WR1.Over the back half of 2019, Woods was a WR1 and gave you some huge performances. This offense doesn't appear set to change from what was working for them at the end of last season, which indicates that Woods is in line for another huge season. Calvin Ridley may be the best overall value in redraft AP right now, but Woods is a close second.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Calvin Ridley is the definition of a breakout candidate going into his third season. With Sanu and Hooper out of town and an offence that will need to continue throwing a lot, Ridley should be a strong fantasy option with massive upside if he can start to take over from Julio Jones. Just remember though, there's no guarantee the breakout happens this year so don't pay for his ceiling.I've been on the Robert Woods hype train all off-season and it seems to finally be gaining momentum. He finished WR17 despite only scoring 2 TDs and a couple of very poor games plus a mid-season injury. TD regression should happen though that's never been his strength and for that reason, he's a great PPR option and a solid option in other modes given his late fourth-round cost.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Matt Ryan has supported 2 Top 24 PPR WRs four times in his career. Amongst active QBs, only Aaron Rodgers has more seasons of supporting 2 Top 24 WRs. @ClutchFantasy He's been pegged as a potential breakout player this year on one of the pass-heaviest offense in the league. Weeks 1-14 last season, he was the WR14 overall. @SWallace_FFRobert Woods finished as the WR14 in PPR leagues last year with 140 targets /90 rec /1134 yards/2 TDs. With no Cooks and positive TD regression, Woods may be in for his first top-10 season of his career. He had just 2 TDs on 90 receptions which made him WR14 in 2019. Woods has also avg'd 18 carries / 136 yards / 1 TD the past two years. @amazehayes_ Woods has caught at least 85 balls, gone over 1,100 yards, and has seen 130+ targets in back-to-back seasons. @grahamBarfield
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Became 1 of just 5 WRs in NFL history to catch 90 passes with 2 TD catches or less in 2019 - heavy target share, plus TD regression offers backend WR1 upside
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
Getting out targeted by Austin Hooper in the same amount of games can't feel great. Has been a TD king up to this point. My only small worry for guys like Ridley and McLaurin. They come out as seniors, basically fully developed, and we expect them to continue taking large steps forward when they most likely came out of college as more of a finished product, near their ceiling. However, now that Hooper has left, I would expect a better season, just based on target volume.Has quietly led the team in targets back to back years. PPG Rank(minimum of 10 games) 2019 - 18th 2018 - 15th 2017 - 17th
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Ridley was solid with 900 yards from scrimmage and 7 touchdowns, but he needs to work on consistency to be more than a WR3.Woods was solid with 1,249 yards from scrimmage, but he had only 3 touchdowns. He is a WR3 with his nice yardage totals, but he does not score enough touchdowns to be in the WR2 discussion.
