Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Did you know that Tannehill had seven rushing touchdowns last season? With Tannehill's incredible efficiency - due in large part to AJ Brown - plus his rushing potential, he comes with a very safe floor every single week. The passing volume - or lack thereof - holds him back from being a true top-5 option at the QB position for fantasy football, but it's hard to find a more consistent option week after week. Heading into 2021, Tannehill lost Corey Davis and Jonnu Smith, but he replaced them with Julio. Arthur Smith has also left Tennessee as the OC to become the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, which does leave some concern for how this offense will look under Todd Downing. Any argument that is brought up against Tannehill though is nitpicking. He's an extremely safe option and he does come with some weekly upside due to that rushing potential around the goal line. He can be viewed as a low-end QB1 this season. For a rookie QB to come in last season and put up the type of numbers that Burrow did is extremely exciting. While the injury certainly places a bit of concern over Burrow's 2021 outlook, all signs are pointing to him being fully healthy and ready for Week 1. With Chase now in town, plus the other receiving options and a revamped offensive line, Burrow has everything he needs to be successful for fantasy football in 2021. This is going to be a fun offense to watch and they're going to put up some crazy numbers. If you miss out on one of the top-tier QB options in your draft, don't panic. Draft Burrow and feel great about getting him at a discount this season because of the injury.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Tannehill has been disrespected by the fantasy community long before Julio Jones was traded there. Tannehill became the starter of the Titans in Week 7 of 2019. Since that time, he's tallied 575.3 fantasy points, which ranks third among quarterbacks, behind only Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. That's right... despite ranking 16th in pass attempts during that time (26-game sample size), he's finished with more fantasy points than Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray, and Deshaun Watson. When Burrow went down with a torn ACL last year, he was sitting as the QB16 in the fantasy rankings, just behind Jared Goff and Teddy Bridgewater. That's not exactly living up to expectations. He is apparently on track to be back in the lineup for Week 1, but his mobility might be limited, especially to start the year, which will put a damper on his fantasy upside. The good news is that the Bengals improved the offensive line this offseason, as well as drafting Ja'Marr Chase at No. 5 overall based on Burrow's recommendation. He now has one of the best trio of wide receivers in the game, paired with a rebuilding defense, which should be the recipe for plenty of pass attempts. But again, dial back expectations because of his mobility. Burrow is best-served as a high-end QB2 in fantasy this year.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
The True Value King! Tanny has been THE most efficient QB in the game over the last several seasons according to BrotoFantasy.com and the Fantasy Football By BRoto App exclusive stat, True Throw Value, which measures QB efficiency. Now he has Julio by his side as well? Sign me up!
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Tannehill was fantastic in 2020 with 350.36 fantasy points in 16 games or 21.90 fantasy points per game. He should be in the QB1 discussion in 2021, especially with that acquisition of Julio Jones.Burrow was the 16th ranked quarterback after Week 11 and he should be in the QB2 mix provided he is cleared to play in Week 1. All signs point to him being ready at this point in the offseason.
Joe Pisapia
FantasyPros
2020 was a roller coaster for the Titans and QB Ryan Tannehill. The fact he finished as a QB1 (8) times and a QB2 (8) times says it all. He finished with 3.8K yards, 33 passing TDs, and seven rushing TDs. Ideally, you want Tannehill as your second QB in a Superflex format. That bonus upside he brings some weeks can be huge. However, as your starting quarterback in a single QB format, the inconsistencies could hurt you some weeks. The Titans lost Corey Davis and Jonnu Smith to free agency, but added Julio Jones in June to create one of the more formidable WR corps in the NFL. Tannehill has established himself as a fantasy-worthy QB, it's just that no one seems to give him his due. The Jones addition will raise that profile, but overpaying for Tannehill isn't advisable either. He's a lower end QB1, but still underappreciated. Before the ACL tear, Joe Burrow looked very much like an emerging star at QB for the Bengals. He was on pace for 4.3K yards and around 25 combined TDs. In the good news department, the Bengals drafted his favorite target Ja'Marr Chase from LSU to add to an already strong WR group, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. They did pick up two offensive linemen, Jackson Carman and D'Ante Smith, as well. They had both better perform because Burrow was sacked 31 times in 10 weeks (2nd most sacks taken by a QB in '20). But the best news, besides the fact Joe Burrow is medically on track for the start of the season, is that the Bengals defense is still going to be deficient in 2021. That means Joe Burrow will constantly be looking to put up points, and that's fantasy gold. He threw for 300 yards in 5 of his ten games last season and should be well over 4K yards in 2021. The one caveat here is that although Burrow was sneaky mobile in college, you may see a more conservative approach for him post major knee surgery. Burrow is a top 10 dynasty QB, and in 2021, he should be considered a low-endQB1. Just know, there will be some highs and lows in that game log.
Mark Ringo
Sleepers and Busts
The addition of Julio Jones makes this offense very interesting. The big question, will Titans head coach, Mike Vrabel, allow New offensive coordinator, Todd Downing, to air it out more often? He should, otherwise why did they trade for Julio in the first place? If he does, Tannehill could have a career year. The Bengals drafted Burrow's old college teammate, WR JaMarr Chase which should help the offense. The concern- can the Bengals offensive line protect him? Cincy also plays a brutal schedule. Baltimore, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh all have tough defenses and they play each of them twice! I really like Burrow's future, but I'd temper expectations for 2021.
Brendan Tuma
FantasyPros
Joe Burrow finished 19th out of 42 quarterbacks in Pro Football Focus' passing grade last season. But it's no secret that he was under siege most of the time, and it's notable that Burrow rated out far better when it comes to intermediate throws, which are a stickier stat on a year-to-year basis, and thus a better indicator of true talent. Burrow finished fifth according to this metric and his overall grade was ultimately doomed by a weak 20.8% deep-ball completion rate. Again, perhaps the offensive line is the primary reason for this. Questions remain about how much of an effort the Bengals made to improve that unit this offseason, but there are at least reasons to think it'll be better, even if it isn't exactly all that strong. Cincinnati has enough weapons and should play at a fast enough pace to make Burrow an exciting late-round QB in '21 fantasy drafts.
Tim Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
The True Throw Value (a BRoto Fantasy Exclusive Stat that measures a QB's fantasy efficiency through the air) king was wildly efficient yet again last season, finishing third overall for his second top-3 and third top-6 finish in as many years. This year he will add the aging Julio Jones to the mix and look to take the offense to the next level after OC Arthur Smith went to the Falcons. The first play-action bomb Julio Jones catches will be a thing of beauty. He is going to be slept on yet again, don't miss out for a third straight year. The addition of Ja'Marr Chase has many fantasy football players excited for the prospect of Joe Burrow reconnecting with his LSU mate and what that might mean for fantasy production. Let's not forget, however, that Burrow is coming off of a major knee injury. In addition, the offensive line is trash and the Bengals are counting on past-prime veterans and rookies to fill the holes. Burrow struggled on long passes last year, finishing behind guys like Nick Foles, Gardener Minshew and Sam Darnold in big plays despite more attempts. His average time of 2.3 seconds in the pocket was 2nd to last (Big Ben) among QBs with at least 400 throws. If he doesn't get more time in the pocket, the year two bump you expect to see may need to wait.
John Hesterman
Dynasty League Football
We cannot pretend that the addition of Julio Jones is not straight positive for Tannehill's seasonal outlook. He should be locked and loaded as a top-12 option at the position and is a safe pick for a team's QB1 in all formats.
Kevin Tompkins
BallBlast
This offense may be the Dallas Cowboys of the AFC, with volume and excellent weapons throughout the offense. I'm aggressive with him as my QB8 and he's going to be a guy I'm very happy to wait on after the "Konami Code" quarterbacks all go from Round 4-7 in redraft.
