Hogan rises with talk Decker may be cutMahomes to Watkins has a chance to be something special
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
You might have a hard time believing this, but Hogan has never finished above 55th at the wide receiver position, so he isn't exactly a safe bet. With that said, Cooks is gone, Edelman is suspended for four games and now Hogan may just be Brady's #1. The upside that comes from that is well worth the risk in the 6th round of drafts.Don't give up on Watkins, who was a train wreck last season. He didn't know the playbook because of when he was traded and the Rams weren't creative with their use of him. Kansas City has big plans for Sammy apparently, and if he can stay healthy, Watkins has all the talent in the world for a huge breakout.
Jody Smith
FantasyPros
Should be in a huge target share, at least for the first four weeks of the season. Should see a healthy number of red zone targets with Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce occupying defenders.
Kevin Wheeler
NFL Mock
He is jumping up my rankings, he is clearly Brady's WR1 going into the season. Coach Andy Reid said he's been moving Sammy Watkins "all over the place" on offense. "We were moving him everywhere," Reid said. "He hasn't had to do that in his career." In past stops with the Bills and Rams, Watkins has been a traditional X receiver on the back side of defenses, routinely facing the other team's best corner or seeing double coverage. Chiefs.com's B.J. Kissel writes the connection between Patrick Mahomes and Sammy Watkins is "real." Kissel writes Mahomes and Watkins have consistently been connecting throughout the offseason program, and fellow receiver Chris Conley said Watkins has picked up the offense "as fast as anyone I've seen." I generally stay away from this type of off season hype, but Sammy has been hindered by nagging injuries when in Buffalo and zero pre-season prep with his new QB in LA going into last year. Sammy has the athleticism and skill to be a WR1, I'm hoping he is fed the targets he will need to get there.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Despite playing in just nine games in 2017, Hogan managed to finish tied for 25th in red zone targets, and actually had the same amount that Brandin Cooks (12) did, despite Cooks playing all 16 games. It goes to show the confidence Tom Brady has developed with him, so by taking Hogan where he's currently going in drafts, you're getting WR1 upside at WR4 cost. It wouldn't shock me to see Watkins finish as the best Chiefs wide receiver, as I believe he's the most talented one. The issue is that he's learning his third offense in three years, which can cripple a wide receiver in year-one. Because of that, Tyreek Hill is the preferred option in 2018. Still, the Chiefs didn't pay Watkins $50 million to see 60-80 targets, so I'd expect him to be a WR3 more often than not. With Pat Mahomes under center and a bad defense, the recipe is there for increased pass attempts. Knowing each of their costs, Watkins is the better fantasy pick.

QB List
Aaaaannd here's the first New England receiver on our wonderful list. Playing in an offense notorious for its inconsistent target distribution, Hogan served as the "field stretcher" throughout the regular season and playoffs for the Super Bowl LII losers (had to get that one in :)). In an injury-shortened season where he only started 7 of the 9 games he played, Hogan posted admirable numbers, including a whopping 5 TD's. With Brandin Cooks gone, Hogan stands as the lone game breaker on a team known for perennially putting up top-tier offensive numbers. Though the targets MAY not precipitate to allow Hogan to realize top 20 upside, he will surely provide enough value in games where he is showcased to give full value at WR #32.Another wonderfully redundant signing, Watkins enters a Chiefs offense flush with key contributors and a player who already has the downfield role locked up in Tyreek Hill. With this in mind I have to assume Watkins will be utilized similar to how he was used in Los Angeles: the sporadic deep route and as a physical force at the goal line. Even then, however, Watkins upside will be severely diminished, and that's without even taking into account the progression of young QB Patrick Mahomes. I'm inclined to stay away in favor of other Tier 5 options, but Watkins is still the #2 receiver in a gunslinging KC offense.
Chet Gresham
WalterFootball
Hogan might get the biggest boost in playing time and usage with Brandin Cooks moving on to L.A. Hogan and Edelman will likely look more like co-No. 1 receivers, with Hogan showing more touchdown upside.Watkins lands in Kansas City and will be a boom-or-bust fantasy prospect once again. I do like that he gets a strong-armed Patrick Mahomes throwing to him, as the deep ball is where he has done much of his damage in the NFL. I will likely draft Watkins this year for his upside but be prepared for another disappointment.
Andrew Gould
FantasyPros
How does one becomes a highly desirable draft commodity without reaching 45 catches or 700 yards in each of his first six seasons? Starting for the NFL's top-rated offense with Tom Brady throwing you passes goes a long way. Hogan, who has averaged 15.5 yards per catch in two seasons with New England, has an opportunity to shine as the top wideout while Julian Edelman serves a four-game suspension to start 2018. Even when Edelman returns, the 29-year-old should net more opportunities with Brandin Cooks, Danny Amendola, and Dion Lewis leaving behind 40.2 % of last year's targets. Hogan was also already a major factor where it counts. Not including his three postseason TDs, Hogan received 12 red-zone targets in nine regular-season games. He's the trendy breakout pick everyone will want on draft day.How much longer will the fantasy community hold out hope on Watkins? One more year. He has caught 67 of 122 targets over the last two seasons combined and followed last year's only 100-yard showing by dispersing 28 yards through three contests. Yet six scores vaulted him to WR23 after a Week 8 bye, and Patrick Mahomes is a better partner for downfield damage than Jared Goff. He's an interesting high-upside gamble (especially in Best Ball drafts) near the seventh or eighth round.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Hogan is not the slot answer some will suggest, but he could be a great value pick on the outside with Edelman serving that early 4 game banWho knows how Watkins will fit in a new system with basically a rookie QB playing but I have to trust the talent here
