The Athletic
Thanks to a nagging injury, he failed to launch in his rookie season. But he's still a big-time talent (big, strong, fast enough) with a go-to opportunity in an offense that will be much less "exotic smashmouth" under HC LaFleur, who has learned under Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay, two pretty good mentors, I'd say
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It wouldn't shock me to see Watkins finish as the best Chiefs wide receiver, as I believe he's the most talented one. The issue is that he's learning his third offense in three years, which can cripple a wide receiver in year-one. Because of that, Tyreek Hill is the preferred option in 2018. Still, the Chiefs didn't pay Watkins $50 million to see 60-80 targets, so I'd expect him to be a WR3 more often than not. With Pat Mahomes under center and a bad defense, the recipe is there for increased pass attempts. Knowing each of their costs, Watkins is the better fantasy pick. Davis is someone I compared to Brandon Marshall during last year's draft process, and after watching him throughout the 2017 season, my expectations haven't changed. He didn't develop any chemistry with Marcus Mariota until playoff time, where he caught nine passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns in their two games. He's still yet to "prove it," so you don't want to go all-in, but the potential is there for a top-15 season. Him going in and out of camp with all these little injuries are worrisome, but every time he's on the field, we hear about how him and Mariota are "on the same page."

QB List
Another wonderfully redundant signing, Watkins enters a Chiefs offense flush with key contributors and a player who already has the downfield role locked up in Tyreek Hill. With this in mind I have to assume Watkins will be utilized similar to how he was used in Los Angeles: the sporadic deep route and as a physical force at the goal line. Even then, however, Watkins upside will be severely diminished, and that's without even taking into account the progression of young QB Patrick Mahomes. I'm inclined to stay away in favor of other Tier 5 options, but Watkins is still the #2 receiver in a gunslinging KC offense. The "sleeper pick" of many fantasy sites this year, Davis was downright atrocious last year for the Titans. He posted only 34 receptions, 375 yards, and not a single tuddy to go along with a near Amari Cooper level 52.3 % catch rate. But hold on folks, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Why you might ask? Because only 44 of Davis' 65 targets were deemed catchable (courtesy of playerprofiler.com), and because lets hear it from the back folks DAVIS WAS A ROOKIE. Hype does not help accelerate a rookie's acclimation to the level of play of the NFL, nor does it help Marcus Mariota throw accurate passes on bum legs. However, a full offseason of rest and training does! Look for Davis to rebound in a big way, though don't get run over by the hype train as Tennessee is still a run first offense.

WalterFootball
Watkins lands in Kansas City and will be a boom-or-bust fantasy prospect once again. I do like that he gets a strong-armed Patrick Mahomes throwing to him, as the deep ball is where he has done much of his damage in the NFL. I will likely draft Watkins this year for his upside but be prepared for another disappointment.Davis has a lot of room to show his ability. He was an early draft pick, has plenty of ability and is on a team that is poised to put up a winning record. He will need to beat out the solid Rishard Matthews to become a consistent fantasy player, which is not at all out of the question but I like Matthews too much to just hand the WR1 over to Davis quite yet.
Andrew Gould
FantasyPros
How much longer will the fantasy community hold out hope on Watkins? One more year. He has caught 67 of 122 targets over the last two seasons combined and followed last year's only 100-yard showing by dispersing 28 yards through three contests. Yet six scores vaulted him to WR23 after a Week 8 bye, and Patrick Mahomes is a better partner for downfield damage than Jared Goff. He's an interesting high-upside gamble (especially in Best Ball drafts) near the seventh or eighth round.Davis went the entirety of his rookie season without finding the end zone until scoring twice in an AFC Divisional Round loss to New England. He mustered just 3.1 catches for 34.1 yards per game, but drafters continue to anticipate a breakout (WR27 ADP) from 2017's No. 5 overall pick. Recovering from a hamstring injury this time last year, he's instead fighting to earn his keep in Tennessee's training camp. The sky is still the limit. A slight discount would have been nice, though.
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Watkins has never lived up to his high first round pick billing, but he has a chance to be a WR3 in a revamped KC offense. Corey Davis was never right with injuries last year, he has been a star in OTAs and with a new coaching staff, I think he has WR2 upside.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Who knows how Watkins will fit in a new system with basically a rookie QB playing but I have to trust the talent hereDavis has great size and ball skills but Mariota looked back in 2017. Hopefully they can progress together. Either way, he's one of my favorite WR sleepers
Kevin Wheeler
NFL Mock
Coach Andy Reid said he's been moving Sammy Watkins "all over the place" on offense. "We were moving him everywhere," Reid said. "He hasn't had to do that in his career." In past stops with the Bills and Rams, Watkins has been a traditional X receiver on the back side of defenses, routinely facing the other team's best corner or seeing double coverage. Chiefs.com's B.J. Kissel writes the connection between Patrick Mahomes and Sammy Watkins is "real." Kissel writes Mahomes and Watkins have consistently been connecting throughout the offseason program, and fellow receiver Chris Conley said Watkins has picked up the offense "as fast as anyone I've seen." I generally stay away from this type of off season hype, but Sammy has been hindered by nagging injuries when in Buffalo and zero pre-season prep with his new QB in LA going into last year. Sammy has the athleticism and skill to be a WR1, I'm hoping he is fed the targets he will need to get there.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Don't give up on Watkins, who was a trainwreck last season. He didn't know the playbook because of when he was traded and the Rams weren't creative with their use of him. Kansas City has big plans for Sammy apparently, and if he can stay healthy, he's got all the talent in the world for a huge breakout.Davis was inefficient last year and that is putting it lightly. If that is all you see, however, you will miss out on a potential WR2. He wasn't healthy to learn the playbook and work with his QB in the pre-season, then he dominated in the playoffs. Let's not forget that he was drafted in the top 10 picks last season either.
