Sleepers and Busts
Cook had a career year and he still missed two games. He is just electric with the ball in his hands. So on the one hand what he did in 14 games was really impressive. On the other, he still hasn't made it through a regular season unscathed. The Vikings also invested in their offensive line in the draft by adding LT Christian Darrisaw and G Wyatt Davis. (LT Riley Reiff departed in free agency.) It's possible Cook does even better in 2021, but his injury history gives me some pause. Naturally, I had him his rookie year when he went down after four games- gaa! So I speak with experience when I say ,if you draft Cook, you better invest in an Alexander Mattison insurance policy later on, just in case.Saquon's coming off a devastating knee injury. The Giants might ease him back by limiting his touches. Even if they don't, Barkley's running style, which invovles plenty of quick stops and starts isn't ideal for an ACL injury. Can he be the same RB? Can he stay healthy? And I speak from personal experience having torn my ACL, albeit 20 years ago. The Giants line isn't very good and the book is still out on QB Daniel Jones. Saquon is too risky in 2021 for me as an early round pick. Let someone else take the chance. Pass
Brendan Tuma
FantasyPros
When it comes to first-round fantasy selections, it's tough to find a player and situation as seemingly safe as Dalvin Cook with the Vikings. Coming off back-to-back top-five RB1 finishes, Minnesota has shown no signs of moving away from being a run-first offense. In fact, the Vikes actually set out to improve their offensive line this offseason. And one year after having a curiously atrocious defense, we can project that unit to improve as well, which of course only helps the running game. Cook is a highly bankable fantasy commodity who warrants consideration as early as No. 2 overall in 1QB redraft formats. The good news is that by the time Week 1 rolls around, Saquon Barkley will have had a full calendar year to recover from his ACL/MCL/meniscus injury that he suffered last September. This is the fantastic as fantasy football is more fun when Barkley is healthy. The bad news? It truly sounds as if the Giants want to limit his workload early on this year, and it's tough to blame them considering Barkley is their franchise player at the moment. I'm also a tad concerned with his ultimate PPR ceiling, as Saquon benefited immensely from Eli "dumpoff" Manning back in 2018. He's still an unquestioned three-down bell cow, but I just don't expect that type of insane usage in the passing game again. Fantasy managers should expect Barkley's workload -- and therefore his fantasy value -- to increase as the season moves along.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Despite missing four games over the last two years, Cook has still managed to rack up 3,572 total yards and 30 touchdowns. He's still yet to play 16 games in his four-year career, but when he's on the field, he's a surefire RB1. In each of the final 12 games he played in 2020, he touched the ball a minimum of 17 times, including 24-plus touches in nine of them. The craziest part about his numbers, though, is the fact that he has 97 receptions for 880 yards over the last two years, but just one receiving touchdown, so there's room for even more of a ceiling. After setting the fantasy world on fire his rookie season with over 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 15 touchdowns, Barkley hasn't exactly lived up to expectations producing 1,535 total yards and eight touchdowns over 15 games the last two seasons. He tore his ACL early in the season, which should give him plenty of time to bounce back, though his violent running style could take a bit longer in recovery. The Giants suddenly have more weapons than ever in the passing game, so Barkley is unlikely to come close to the 121 targets he saw in 2018, though he should have more scoring opportunities. There is some risk with Barkley at the top of drafts due to his knee, but when on the field, we know he'll produce.

The Draft Zone
Will injuries take their toll? Saquon is a great pick for re-draft, but scares me in bestball.
Tim Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Cook is an animal when he is on the field, emphasis on "on the field." Now entering his 5th season, he has yet to play 16 games, and with the NFL extending to a 17-game schedule, the pressure is on. The injury history of Cook is the only think holding him back from the No. 1 overall pick.Over the last two seasons, Barkley played a total of 15 games combined. The risk of injury is just too great right now for me to take him over some proven guys who stay on the field, even if he is the most talented back in the NFL.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Cook is as talented as any running back in the league, and would have surpassed 2,000 yards from scrimmage last year had he not missed two games due to injury. As it was, he set career bests in rushing yards (1,557), touchdowns (17), and touches (356). He's also a big play waiting to happen, as he has ripped off a run of at least 70 yards in each of the past three seasons. If there's a knock on Cook, it's that he hasn't yet stayed healthy enough to play 16 games in a season, but that's not close enough to knock him out of being an obvious top-three pick in fantasy leagues.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
From a talent perspective, Saquon Barkley is the best RB in the NFL when he's on the field. Unfortunately, the issue has been staying on the field the past two seasons. Barkley has played 15 out of a possible 32 games, which makes him a very risky investment at the top of your draft. For fantasy managers to have a shot of competing deep into their playoffs, they need their top draft pick to pull their weight all season long. As the RB3 in ECR right now, that's too high of a cost for Barkley that doesn't take into account his injury history whatsoever. As a late first-round draft pick, the risk is worth the reward. A top-3 pick in your fantasy football draft might be a little bit too rich.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Cook had 315.8 fantasy points in 2020, but a big concern is that offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak has retired and there will be a new play caller in 2021. Cook is still a fantastic talent, but it may be tough for him to duplicate 17 touchdowns with a new play caller.Injuries capped Barkley's 2019 season and completely derailed his 2020 season as he played only two games. I love Barkley's ability, but he needs to stay healthy if he is going to realize his unlimited potential.
