Akers was a 5-star HS recruit, played behind one of the worst O-Lines in the country at FSU and still put up 1,100 and 8 his freshman year. He can rush, pass, and block, is durable, and was a 2nd round pick by a team that had just spent a 3rd round pick on a RB the year prior. Plus, even in a down year last season, Gurley put up 14 TDs in that offense. Akers is a RB2 with high-end RB1 upside.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
This is one of the most puzzling selections to me in the entire draft. While I wasn't a huge Akers fan heading into the draft, I believed he could have value as a pass-catching back or a player that would thrive being moved out into space. Darrell Henderson is still there and could be the 1st/2nd down back, while Akers assumes the 3rd down work. However, this OL is still horrendous and is not going to help these RBs at all. This could be a David Montgomery type selection in year one, where the talent level is there, but the OL just simply can't hold up. Akers is a very risky pick in Dynasty leagues. With Cam Newton behind center, this offense is going to be much more potent than it would have been with Jarrett Stidham. This benefits Michel with more scoring opportunities and trips into the red zone. However, the downside is that Newton has the size and power to take away some of those goal line touches. Michel's nothing more than a RB3 this season, in my opinion.

Cam Akers has the easiest path to a featured role among these rookie RBs in terms of proven competition in their backfield. Akers also happens to be a baller. @IhartitzMichel recovering from foot surgery, per sources. The surgery was viewed as more maintenance-based to relieve discomfort. How Michel's rehab progresses will determine if he opens training camp on PUP. @MikeReiss - I don't think he starts the season on PUP. I'm like being able to get him in the 8th-9th round.

The Fantasy First Down
Despite being 7th in total yards, the Rams somehow managed to give only 1500 of them to their RBs. While that's less than ideal, there is room for growth. There are rumblings that the Rams want to do more on the ground and with Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown proving underwhelming to this point, it's entirely possible that by halfway through the season, this is Cam Akers's backfield. Given the huge TD and fantasy point upside that role has previously held, a return to form for the Rams could make the young rookie a fantasy stud. Be very aware that he'll start the season slowly but he could rumble home with a head of steam if things fall his way.You know what you'll be getting if you draft Sony Michel. 900 yards, 7ish TDs and an RB3 finish. Most weeks that'll mean single digit fantasy points and that's not ideal, but there is upside. If the Pats are forced to go very run-heavy given their awkward QB situation, it's possible Michel will get a lot more run. Then again it's also possible Damien Harris comes in and takes a large part of Michel's work. Ultimately, he's little more than a backup with some non-PPR upside.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
The Rams were going to draft a running back - we knew that after they interviewed a ton of them in the draft process. What we didn't know was that they'd take one with their first pick in the draft. While Darrell Henderson is a threat to Akers' overall workload, they clearly know what they have in Henderson, and drafted Akers early. It seems like Henderson is going to be the lesser part of the timeshare, while Akers is the early-down back and likely to receive goal-line work. There's a chance Henderson has a bigger role than anticipated, which prevents us from trusting Akers as anything more than a high-end RB3.After a somewhat disappointing rookie campaign where he failed to finish as a top-24 running back despite racking up 209 carries in the high-scoring Patriots offense, Michel had an even worse sophomore campaign, averaging just 3.7 yards per carry and scoring just seven touchdowns on 259 touches. The Patriots spent a first-round pick on him, so he'll be given every opportunity to succeed, but they won't allow him to be inefficient much longer with Damien Harris waiting in the wings. Michel simply hasn't been the player we watched at Georgia. It's hard to see losing Tom Brady actually help him become more efficient.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Michel has justifiably fallen out of favor for fantasy owners after yet another sub-par year, and there's little excitement about him this year. He has averaged nearly 16 carries per game in his career, however, and may be asked to carry more of a load now that Tom Brady is no longer under center. But his upside is limited by two roadblo cks: the presence of James White, Rex Burkhead, and Damien Harris, and his complete lack of involvement in the passing game. Michel has just 31 targets and 19 receptions over his 29 career games. In standard scoring leagues, there's a chance he may be slightly undervalued, but it would be hard to rely on him as anything more than a bench player in or half- or full-PPR leagues.

I've had 475 total touches in my first 2 years despite missing 3 games, but have finished as RB28, and 29 in those 2 years. Who am I? And why am I so bad?
