FantasyPros
With Cam Newton behind center, this offense is going to be much more potent than it would have been with Jarrett Stidham. This benefits Michel with more scoring opportunities and trips into the red zone. However, the downside is that Newton has the size and power to take away some of those goal line touches. Michel's nothing more than a RB3 this season, in my opinion. It's very hard to envision a world in which Guice returns value on his current RB27 ADP price tag. Even if Guice is the unquestioned starter, this offense is not going to be potent enough for him to see enough volume to finish in that range. And that's without even factoring in his extreme injury risks. Add in the fact that Adrian Peterson is still on this roster, Antonio Gibson was selected by this coaching staff, and the additions of Peyton Barber and JD McKissic, it becomes very difficult to even see how Guice sticks on this roster. While I'm not projecting Guice to be cut, it's certainly in the realm of possibilities. Guice is currently being drafted at, or even above, his ceiling in this offense and I recommend staying far away at that price tag.

Michel recovering from foot surgery, per sources. The surgery was viewed as more maintenance-based to relieve discomfort. How Michel's rehab progresses will determine if he opens training camp on PUP. @MikeReiss - I don't think he starts the season on PUP. I'm like being able to get him in the 8th-9th round. How many RBs can you get outside the top 6 rounds who possess; elite athleticism, workhorse size, strong draft capital, great college production, and opportunity to be the workhorse? He's a fun zero RB target.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
You know what you'll be getting if you draft Sony Michel. 900 yards, 7ish TDs and an RB3 finish. Most weeks that'll mean single digit fantasy points and that's not ideal, but there is upside. If the Pats are forced to go very run-heavy given their awkward QB situation, it's possible Michel will get a lot more run. Then again it's also possible Damien Harris comes in and takes a large part of Michel's work. Ultimately, he's little more than a backup with some non-PPR upside. It's been a horror start to Derrius Guice's career, with no more than 10 carries and 3 receptions in his five matches to date. Luckily, it's likely he's finally the healthy starter in 2020 and that could mean 200+ carries in the run-heavy Redskins offence. That's far from a guarantee though, with Adrian Peterson, the "new McCaffrey" Antonio Gibson, Bryce Love, JD McKissic and Peyton Barber hanging around to make life difficult. I'm still drafting Guice out of that group for his upside but know you're taking a real gamble with a very low floor but a solid ceiling.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
After a somewhat disappointing rookie campaign where he failed to finish as a top-24 running back despite racking up 209 carries in the high-scoring Patriots offense, Michel had an even worse sophomore campaign, averaging just 3.7 yards per carry and scoring just seven touchdowns on 259 touches. The Patriots spent a first-round pick on him, so he'll be given every opportunity to succeed, but they won't allow him to be inefficient much longer with Damien Harris waiting in the wings. Michel simply hasn't been the player we watched at Georgia. It's hard to see losing Tom Brady actually help him become more efficient. Now entering his third NFL season, Guice has just 49 touches to his name. The Redskins have a new coaching staff that has apparently decided to go with a timeshare approach. Along with Guice, they have Adrian Peterson, Bryce Love, Peyton Barber, Antonio Gibson, and J.D. McKissic. So, even if Guice is the lead back, it's unlikely he's a workhorse, and will concede passing-down work to one of Gibson/McKissic. On a low-scoring team, it's hard to find the upside in Guice's projection, even if he does return to perfect health, which has been an issue.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Michel has justifiably fallen out of favor for fantasy owners after yet another sub-par year, and there's little excitement about him this year. He has averaged nearly 16 carries per game in his career, however, and may be asked to carry more of a load now that Tom Brady is no longer under center. But his upside is limited by two roadblo cks: the presence of James White, Rex Burkhead, and Damien Harris, and his complete lack of involvement in the passing game. Michel has just 31 targets and 19 receptions over his 29 career games. In standard scoring leagues, there's a chance he may be slightly undervalued, but it would be hard to rely on him as anything more than a bench player in or half- or full-PPR leagues.Guice has played in only five of 32 games in his young NFL career due to injuries, but has looked explosive when he has made it onto the field. His stock is certainly trending up as he approaches the 2020 season in full health, but the Redskins have dropped every signal in the world that they're not ready to turn the reins over to Guice just yet. The Washington backfield consists of Guice, Adrian Peterson, Peyton Barber, J.D. McKissic, Antonio Gibson, and Bryce Love, and while not every one of these options may be on the roster come Week 1, it's going to be a crowded backfield nonetheless. The best bet is to draft Guice as a bench player with upside and hope he breaks out.

Crossroads Fantasy Football
I've had 475 total touches in my first 2 years despite missing 3 games, but have finished as RB28, and 29 in those 2 years. Who am I? And why am I so bad?So we have son of Norm "Bellcow" Turner taking over as Rivera's OC in Washington. I love Guice as much as the next guy but what are the odds Washington draft a RB, after 2 seasons of AP leading the way and Guice not being able to be trusted I think they almost have to.
