Pack to the Future
If there was ever a time for Will Fuller to truly break out, now's the time. DeAndre Hopkins was sent to Arizona and even with the addition of Brandin Cooks, I see Fuller as the WR1 in the Texans offense. We all know his upside, it's all about the health for Fuller. If he plays 14+ games he has a very good chance of finishing as a WR2.When healthy, Shepard has been a solid WR3 but the problem is, he's rarely healthy. Now with the emergence of Darius Slayton and the presence of veteran Golden Tate, I don't like Shepard's chances of living up to his ADP.
Bart Wheeler
Hail to Fantasy Football
Same for Will Fuller. With Hopkins gone, a fully healthy season from Fuller (while unlikely) would mean a top-10 finish.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
The definition of a boom-or-bust player, as Fuller has posted WR1-type numbers in 23.8 percent of his games, which ranks 30th among wide receivers since 2000. The issue is that he's posted WR3 or better numbers in just 33.3 percent of his games, which ranks 94th (right behind Donte Moncrief) during that time. The loss of Deandre Hopkins should provide him with a more stable target floor, though Brandin Cooks is arguably a better football player than Fuller and will steal a lot of those targets. The chemistry between Fuller and Deshaun Watson has to be taken into account, but so does the injury history. Ideally, you draft him as a WR4 that you can rely on as a WR3 while healthy. In a season where he was dealing with injuries and a rookie quarterback, Shepard still posted WR2 or better numbers in 40 percent of his games, which ranked 33rd among wide receivers. Now, to be fair, the offense has changed, but it doesn't appear the new regime is very fond of Evan Engram, as evidenced by putting him on the trade block during the NFL Draft. Golden Tate is aging, and while Darius Slayton did flash at times, it was a relatively small sample size. It shouldn't shock anyone to see Shepard get 100-plus targets in 2020 and finish as a WR3, though you do have to wonder what his upside actually is with so many mouths to feed.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Will Fuller is one of those guys whose weekly ranking is always going to be higher than his ADP was. He's being drafted as a WR3 but has always had WR1 upside when healthy. The issue is that he hasn't been healthy. He has also failed to bring any value when not reaching his upside. Boom-Bust is his middle name.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
It's hard to go wrong drafting Fuller at his current ADP of WR35. Fuller could be the WR1 in this offense led by Deshaun Watson and he's shown the potential of being a top-10 WR for fantasy football when he's on the field. Unfortunately, Fuller just has not been able to stay healthy, so he's a risky pick. If you can get Fuller to be a FLEX player in your lineup, where you don't need to rely on him every single week, it could pay off in a big way this season. As long as he's on the field, Fuller has top-12 upside. When Shepard's on the field, he's a target vacuum. However, he's rarely been on the field the past couple seasons and he is playing in one of the deepest receiving corps in the entire league. Darius Slayton, Golden Tate, Evan Engram, and Saquon Barkley are all going to command targets in this offense, which limits each player's ceiling. If one of the other options misses time, Shepard can be extremely fantasy relevant, but it's impossible to project that going into the season. Shepard's a risky pick this year.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
If Will Fuller can ever stay healthy for a season he'll be a sensational fantasy pick-up, especially in Best Ball. Fuller once again looked sensational on limited targets when on the field but battled the injuries that have always held him back. After four injury-ravaged seasons, it's time to acknowledge that when you draft Will Fuller, you're going to lose him for parts of the season and he'll fail to finish a lot of games, torpedoing that week for you. On the upside, well, there's a lot of it and he is rather consistent if (and it's a big if) he's healthy. He's worth the gamble, especially in PPR, in the middle rounds.Sterling Shepard went into 2019 as the clear cut Giants WR1 but he failed to perform, missing half the season with injury and only performing against mediocre opposition. Now with Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram, Golden Tate and Darius Slayton to compete with, it's hard to see Shepard providing weekly security in an offence expected to run more often this year under Joe Judge. He's a low upside mid-round pick.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Sterling Shepard tied for 17th most in the NFL for targets per game in 2019 with 8.3.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
My ranking of Will Fuller will never have to do with his stats, those are what get him drafted year after year. His inability to stay on the field is what makes him a bust year after year. Waiting for him to prove me wrong. Another deep threat with injury concerns and an inability to catch the ball (twice as many dropped deep balls as the next player). Gets a lot of love for never playing 16 games, going over 700 yards, or receiving more than 100 targets. Was bringing in Kenny Stills not enough of a warning that the team can't trust him to stay healthy?4 years in and we have a yards per reception of 11.6. That average is a lot of work just to go over 1000 yards. Combine that with his lack of TDs, and worrisome concussion history, and you get a perfectly boring WR that needs 90+ receptions to be fantasy relevant.
