I'm not in love with West's talents, but now that Kenneth Dixon has been lost for the season, he's got a pretty clear path to 220+ carries, which makes 900-1000 rush yards and 8-9 TDs very plausible
Chet Gresham
WalterFootball
Gore is older than dirt, but still somehow keeps truckin'. The Colts did draft Marlon Mack, who doesn't have Gore's consistency, but has a lot more big-play ability. They will likely split work at some point this season, hurting what upside Gore had.West will likely be the early down back all season unless the Ravens add competition during training camp. As the lead back, he has plenty of standard-league appeal.

QB List
Frank Gore is old, and nearly used up, like that horse from True Grit. His 2,965 career attempts are the tenth most of all time, and far more than any other current player in the league. At some point, he's going to give out. Still, Gore doesn't have to get a ton of yardage to be useful, as he plays on a high octane offense with ample chances to score.West is a safe bet to retain the two-down role on a pass-first offense. His ceiling is not that impressive, but he's cheap enough. With his main competitor for touches - Kenneth Dixon - out for the year he should return mid to low RB2 value.

Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
We don't know how long he'll hold onto the job, seeing as he has averaged just 3.8 yards per carry since coming to the Colts. He's also scored just 10 touchdowns on the ground, leading them to use Robert Turbin in goal-line situations last year. They also drafted Marlon Mack, who could supplant Gore at any time.Fresh to start last season, West averaged 4.70 yards per carry with three touchdowns in the first six games, but struggled down the stretch, averaging just 3.43 yards per carry once Dixon joined the backfield. He also scored just two rushing touchdowns over the final 10 games with Dixon, making him unplayable. As of right now, there is no competition for the early-down work with Dixon out for the year. Despite the fact that the Ravens have ranked in the bottom-five for running back rush attempts the last two years, West presents solid flex value, just limit your expectations for his upside.

NFL Mock
He is still a rock-solid RB2 any way you look at it. He's getting real old, but if they do anything to improve their O-line Gore's numbers won't suffer a bit. "As long as I'm healthy and my guys up front get me the opportunities, I'm going to be successful,'' Gore said. With no improvements to the O-line, Robert Turbin showing life in camp, and Marlon Mack being drafted, I don't see how Gore improves on last year's total. He keeps on ticking like the energizer bunny, but I think that cliff is close. I've been high on him every year until now. Offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski remains squarely in Gore's corner, but there figures to be more of a backs-by-committee approach this season. "You can go a lot of different directions in that you can feature more things or different things with different people,'' he said. "Some of that will be personnel-driven.'' http://cbs4indy.com/2017/07/12/colts-training-camp-preview-running-backs-2/ With Dixon pretty much ruled out for the season everything is turning up roses for West. I was able to see a bit of him when he was in college at Towson University because that is where I live and also went to school there. West looked dynamic to the untrained eye, but he was essentially playing against JV squads his whole college career. He rarely got more than was blocked for him, but he did have a very productive line for a small school.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Gore has had a hall-of-fame career if you ask me, but what he has done over the past two seasons is just begging the Colts to hand his job over to someone else. He will only get carries until they decide who his replacement is. It could even happen in the pre-season. With the news of Dixon being out for the year, West skyrockets up draft boards. There is always the chance that the Ravens would be unsatisfied with West as a starter and go acquire a better back, but until then, West must be drafted in the top 40 based on expected touches alone.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Gore is ancient, but Indy seems content to still hand him a huge role. Role is key in fantasy and Gore still has RB2 upside.West has surging value with Kenneth Dixon ruled out for the year.
Corey Parson
RotoExperts
Gore keeps it going despite his age and the lack of a consistent role in the offense. Auction Value $12 West impressed at times last season, but he is not much more than a journeyman running back. With Kenneth Dixon ruled out for the season, West value has skyrocketed.

Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Gore seems to be too old every season and all he did is tally 1,025 yards rushing, 277 yards receiving and eight touchdowns in 2016. I would not take him in the third or fourth round, because of age concerns, but he has defied the odds and remained a stellar back for over a decade.
