With the Panthers drafting McCaffrey so high this season, it seems unlikely that they would miss an opportunity to get him plenty of touches. That doesn't mean, however, that Stewart can't also be heavily involved in the offense. McCaffrey can be used out wide or in the slot as well. Stewart has been a quality running back for some time including last season when he wasn't injured so don't sleep on him altogether. With the news of Dixon being out for the year, West skyrockets up draft boards. There is always the chance that the Ravens would be unsatisfied with West as a starter and go acquire a better back, but until then, West must be drafted in the top 40 based on expected touches alone.

I'm not really sure why people are so down on a physical back who still has a big role on a team that loves to run.West has surging value with Kenneth Dixon ruled out for the year.

Stewart's days as the feature back came to a end on draft day when the Panthers selected Christian McCafferey. Auction Value $2 West impressed at times last season, but he is not much more than a journeyman running back. With Kenneth Dixon ruled out for the season, West value has skyrocketed.

Christian McCaffrey won't take over Stewart's job completely, but it's going to be tough for Stewart to beat him out for touches all season. I'm done with Stewart as long as McCaffrey is healthy.West will likely be the early down back while Kenneth Dixon is suspended the first month of the season.

It's been a roller coaster of an off-season for Stewart, as he had his contract extended, but then witnessed his team select two running backs with their first two picks. While Curtis Samuel isn't a traditional running back, he will get carries. And to spend a top-eight pick on a running back says a lot how they feel about their current situation. It's hard to see Stewart finish with more than 120 carries this season and he doesn't catch passes, so we're left with non-starter type numbers. At the very least, you should get four usable performances out of West while Kenneth Dixon is serving his suspension. Fresh to start the season, West averaged 4.70 yards per carry with three touchdowns in the first six games, but struggled down the stretch, averaging just 3.43 yards per carry once Dixon joined the backfield. He also scored just two rushing touchdowns over the final 10 games with Dixon, making him unplayable. At least he's a very cheap guy to target with Dixon, as you're guaranteed the starting running back for the Ravens with just your 8th and 10th round picks.

NFL Mock
Carolina will probably be acquiring another RB this off-season, Stewart can't handle a bell-cow workload over a full season. When he is in line for 20+ carries in any given week he is a great start though. Whether it's DFS or your RB 3/4 he is a valuable asset to own.
